      Water Temp: 54.3 - - 55.7

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: 1st trip to Cachuma in almost 1-1/2 years. See a lot of changes but my boat passed thank god! Store is closed, snack bar is closed, gas pumps are closed. Pretty sad.. Boat wash was well, pretty intense. Guy was nice and washed the boat, trailer, wheels, rear half of my truck, trolling motor, etc etc. Makes me wonder why I went back there?? If it wasn't for the meet this month, I wouldn't had.

HitJohnson bay first and was surprised to see some very clear water. Like down 8-10 feet in spots! Looking for some beds but nothing located. Hit Santa Cruz with NADA on everything I tossed. Hit the tule weeds across from Arrowhead with nothing, worked the walls on Arrowhead with nothing. Gee -- starting to sound framilar?? Saw two guys with 1 fish and that was it! Good thing LITTLE IF NO WIND! Maybe 5-10 in spots but a really nice day comparied to the 45-55 winds the day before.
Lake is almost full - -

Tips: Give it a few days then head back.

      Water Temp: 52

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Fished Saturday and Sunday march 6,7 with great success. Took my son and his buddy to the lake for the weekend. We used the go to bait (Jumbo minnow) this time of year with the fishing being a bit tough. 8 dozen minnows and 60 plus fish later we had a great time to say the least.Caught fish from 2 to 6.1 pounds. average in the 3.8 oz.range. We fished the south end of the lake, to be specific the call the Keys. In my opinion with the water being a couple of degrees warmer than the main lake the fish I think were starting a pre-spawn mode. The reason for saying that is they were hammering the bait like it was their last meal. Good thing I catch and release or it would have. Go see my buddy Bob at Limit out Bait and Tackle great guy very informative. Been going there for a dozen years. He has what you need more times than not.
      City: Plumas Lake

Tips: Minnows almost a sure bet this time of the year. come mid-April you should be able to catch them with your car keys. LOL!! Good luck to all.

      Water Temp: 52.7-54.3

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: It is great to see the lake with water in it. I fished this lake one time before when there was water and that was back in 06. then the lake was very full. I started fishing the this lake last year once I moved to Fresno. I am still learning this place and today was a learning experince. I took the advice of previous report and I started with the blade. about 5 minutes of fishing and I hook up with a chunker just under 3lbs its 6:30am. then 1.5 lbr about 6:50am. Then nothing until about 10 and I get one on the senko almost 3lbs. about 30mins later and 2lbr on the blade. The wind was kicking up and I am having a problem with the charge on my trolling motor battery so I leave the lake around 11:30. The senko fish was a fat female ready to pop. Normally i'd say she would maybe go 2 lbs. looked like a football.

Tips: A lot of fresh grass in the water. rip the blades out of there and wait on the attack. Don't be afaird to go shallow all fish in less than 10FOW. I didn't fish deep at all, maybe i would have got a few more.

      Water Temp: Don't know

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Went out the last two Sundays. Bass fishing is almost pointless, with all the pros fishing the lake. Salmon fishing is still going strong and 3 of us caught 19 on Sunday and 11 the week before. All about 13 inches. P.S. This site is for posting fishing reports and fishing tips. Not for asking lame questions and talking smack. Also Lake Oroville doesn't have Kokanee. You probably caught some Coho. Coho are silver and Kokanee are red with big teeth.
      City: Chico

Tips: Fast troll 80 feet back on top water close to shore. Earth colors seem to working best but silver with a black back works well too. Drift fishing night crawlers never fails. For bass fishing, find muddy banks and try using brown with purple flake. In clear water, try a smoke color shad on a drop shot.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Went out today battled some wind and light rain in south delta. Stuck a five pounder on rip rap where wind was blowing on red craw lipless crank. Threw swimbaits missed 2 good bites came unbuttoned. One follwer bit right before I pulled the bait out of water. Didn't see him follwing as wind was rippling the water. Tried jigs, worms, spinners with no takers. Several boats pre-fishing tourney I assume. The bite should get better as the weeks progress. Looks like Spring is finally here. Warmer weather next week! I can't wait!
      City: Stockton

Tips: Find wind blown points and banks next to deeper water and throw lipless cranks and swimbaits! Don't pass up banks where ducks/birds are feeding. If no bites move on to the next one.

      Water Temp: 50-54

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Launched out of capel morning. There were about 35 float rafters/tubers out there holding a tournament. Tough day. Fished drop shot, wacky senko, crankbait, jigs, from 5-30 feet, mostly 20+. Only 3 small spotties. They were either shut mouth or they moved to 50 feet, which I should've fished. No wind.....maybe that's why it was so tough.

      Water Temp: 49-51

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: My friend Mike need to go fishing (I certainly didn't, har!) - so we made the trek to Clear Lake to see if we could get any night fish. It was supposed to be cloudy with some showers - but as usually for me, all stars!! It wasn't too cold however and the breeze was light. We fished the Oaks arm and several spots in the narrows. We did ok with 9 bass in the Ranger up to 5 1/4 lbs and a limit of 19+ lbs. We fished from 8 pm 'til 12:30 am. It was an early night bite - couldn't get anything after 11:30 pm. We lost 3 good fish for some reason (brains we too cold to set the hook?)! Brush hogs and jigs were our baits of choice and one on a D&M swim jig. Cold front moved them out again I think, though we did hook a few on the edges of tulles at Rattlesnake Island. Some of our bass came out of 20+ feet still.
      City: Yuba City

Tips: Even with the cold night Thursday, some bass were still as shallow as 5 feet. Finally we actually felt a slight bite instead of the usual winter pressure bite. Once the weather settles and warms again for a few day, the "bite" should be on!!

      Water Temp: ?

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Went out Sunday with a buddy and only had 2 bass all day until about 4pm. That is when the boat traffic died down a bit and we could venture to a point or 2. (we were in a small jon boat with only a trolling motor)We hooked into a nice school of spots on a secondary point the wind was blowing into. We caught 9 spots on that one point with the biggest going 2.8 and out of the 9, 5 of them were 2 pounds or better. We had back to back to back casts that produced 3 spots 2lb+
      City: Paradise

Tips: We had our early bass on a spinnerbait and a crankbait. But all those spots on the point came off a 6" worms texas rigged in about 15 feet of water. The funny thing....we watched 3 or 4 tourney boats stop at this point and catch nothing. But I'm sure they were already weighing in by the time the point loaded up. We located a huge spot all the way back into a creek in about 5 feet of water but she laughed at everything we offered. I guessing she was about 5 pounds or more.

      Report: newcomer
      City: red bluff

Tips: your guide fishes to make sure there are fish for you to try and catch. he does not want to fish you in a spot where there are not enough fish for you to catch, thats why he's called a guide. he guides his clients to fish and when he catches fish it shows you the fish are there and catchable the rest is up to you. most of your better guides do not fish once they put you on fish, they just baby sit the client.
