Report: Sid Cover a lot of water right now with red craw speed traps and blades to locate fish then slow down and try jigs, craws and 8 in worms. Fish the entrances to dead end sloughs, think about where they will be spawning and then fish out from there. Last thursday I was catching them from 1 to 5 ft.

Report: My wife and I fished together in our Fellowship of Christian Anglers Society tournament. Started in Horseshoe throwing a crankbait and a spinnerbait trying to locate fish. Caught first keeper on the blades 1.5 lbs on a secondary point. Slowed down and made several more passes with a drop shoted watermelon red worm and picked up keepers 2&3. Moved to the island in Horseshoe and hooked up with a big fish on the drop shot, and after a stressful battle landed keeper 4- 5 1/2 lbs. continued around the island and picked up keeper 5 on a c-rigged lizard. Had my limit by 9:45. Cought a few more on the d.s., c-rig, and wacky rigged senko. but wasn't able to cull. My wife caught all hers on the d.s. but didn't get her fifth fish until 20 minutes before weigh-in. I ended up in first with just under 11 lbs. and my wife finished third. Heard that a little girl fishing in the Mike Van Guilder Sr. tournament caught an 11.75. Way to go!

      Water Temp: 47-50

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: To coin the Southwest commercial, Get Your Bags, It's On! What a beautiful morning and the lake was virtually empty but the bass were waiting in anticipation for whatever you wanted to feed them. Conditions were wonderful as the lake is about 12' from full pool and I was finally able to get to my "honey holes" back in Rock Creek. My first fish was a nice 3 pounder followed by a fiesty 5 lb largemouth. I took over 18 pounds of bass from Rock Creek in less than 2 hours, of course released. Headed to the main body and had a field day once more on tubes and Senkos. Running out of coffee around 12:30, I called it a day but chances are pretty good I'll be back tomorrow. This place is turned on so enjoy the bite while you can and before we get run over by power boats.
      City: Wheatland

Tips: Looked down the throat of the first bass caught to determine what color to throw next but it proved that the tail of the shad sticking out was identical to my tube color. Always look to see what they are eating to match their meal. I worked reaction baits with no success but tubes and Senkos were the ticket. Toss near submerged shrubs and work it slowly and I had a light bullet weight on the Senko in watermelon and they ate it up and when they bit....you knew you just got hammered.

Report: Wow What a great day at Lake Casitas. The fish are moving up and hitting the plastics.I started the morning on the shoreline throwing swimbaits and had only one good follower. So I started throwing a split-shot rig with a Mindalures Spear worm and got a nice chucky 2 ponder. I then saw a bed in deeper water so I broke out a 7 inch Meta Pearl spear worm and watch the bass hammer it and that was my big bass of the day. She was about 6.5 pounds. Finished the day with 10 more bass smallest was 1.5 pounds.12 bass overall. tight lines Chief
      City: Camarillo

Tips: I was fishing the Mindalures Spear worms in 4in and 7inch.I fished them on a drop-shot,split-shot and texas rigged. The shad color and the pearl got the most hits.Shoreline guys fan cast and walk the banks slow most bass are not bedded down yet butthey are there. good luck

Report: Fished during the rain showers. Started at 1:00 PM and my nephew had the first spot in 15 minutes on a brown/green 4" worm Texas rigged. I was getting bit on the drop and changed tactics and caught and released 4 kokanee salmon 13-14" on a 1/4OZ darter head with a 4" green/brown worm, Panther Martins worked well too. Lake was down 200' still. One ramp open at the spillway ramp!

      Water Temp: 52.7

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: We fished the main like island tops in the west area of the lake near the dam for 3 spotted bass and 1 smallmouth and a 2.5 lb average. Tried fishing shallow in morning w/ jerkbaits, and worms, but the fish were deep. Moved off shore and picked up some fish. The spotted bass fell for hula grubs (watermelon black and red) fished in 20'-30' of water on a 3/8 OZ football head. The smallmouth smashed a Fat Free Shad in baby bass pattern in about 15'-20' of water along the southside dam. Didn't try up river or in the narrows, but would if I went back soon.
      City: Stockton

Tips: The fish were not up in the shallows w/ the front blowing in/out. Fish deeper water and find island tops at 20' depths dropping down into 50' water. Dragging darker colored jig/pig or watermelon and watermelon red flake patterned lizards or brush hogs w/ a Carolina Rig 1/2 OZ -3/4 OZ in deeper water may be the ticket until the fish move back up in water less than 15'.

      Water Temp: 52

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: If I thought it was good last week, forget about it! Today, Mike and I caught and released over 35 bass and every one was a tournament keeper. Perfect day weather wise and they were really on a fanatic bite. Saw quite a few more boats today than last week while seeing others catching them too. Had plenty of coffee today so stayed until 3PM and stayed busy all day.
      City: Wheatland

Tips: Tubes, tubes, tubes. I throw them on a 1/4 darthead that tends to get it down a lot quicker and I can control it better. Headed to Rock Creek and caught 3 on first 3 casts and the bite just died........for at least 5 minutes! Worked in 20-25' of water but on the main body, many were right on the bank down to 5'. Caught a couple nice ones slow rolling a black/blue chatterbait. Great day so get out and enjoy.
