      Water Temp: 52-56

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Lake looked phenomenal with the water level up. Fished 2/25 out of the boat. Water started at 52 and was up to 55 by 2. Bite was slow but quality was there. 3-1/2, 4, couple of 2's. All weighed on the digi scale. Plastics. All fish were shallow in 10 or less. Went back on Sunday on foot for a few hours with some minnows and doubled up on 3-1/2 lbers, a 4lb fish and a solid 5.0. 2 were starting to show signs of eggs, others nothing... its starting. Treat 'em gently, grab a pic and get 'em back.
      City: Pacific Grove

Tips: We fished slow, we caught fish. Usually around grass in 8-10ft. Nothing on reaction baits yet.

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: All ramps are in I think. Fished Sunday 9 to 4 caught 25 total. Minnows on bottom and bobbers and brown gitzits worked good too. Had fish tacos that night. Morning bite was best.
      City: Anderson

Tips: I saw a flyer at DFG that said after Mar 10 its no longer needed to wear your licence in plain sight.

      Water Temp: 49-51

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: On the water by 7:30 am. We got rained on for a good portion of the day, but that seemed to help the bite. First fish came a couple hundred yards from the launch on a single tail grub with a 1/4 ounce darter head. Buddy picked up a nice 3 lb spot a few minutes later on a green pumpkin tube. A few minutes after that I break off a nice spot right at the boat. The bite slowed down in the afternoon and the fish went a little deeper. I eventually found a few more spots dragging a football jig with a hula grub. Buddy stuck with the tube a found a few more throughout the day. No reaction bite at all. Tried ripping, blades, deep crank, but no takers. At the end of the day we fished a submerged road close to the launch and found a pocket of feeding fish. I picked up 4 spots almost back to back on the football jig. Buddy got a backlash and had to watch me catch the fish while the sun went down!! 12 total fish for the day with the best five going around 13 lbs.
      City: Sacramento

Tips: Fish slow with tubes or jigs. The fish aren't ready to chase reaction baits yet....very soon though. I was impressed at the quality of fish here. Good luck!

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Went out this morning with my daughter. Beautiful winter day but alas no fish. There was alot of boats out there hopefully they had more luck than we did. Got a couple of bites off a 6" pumpkin worm dragging the bottom in about 18 to 20 feet. But other than that just enjoyed the sunshine and spending time with my daughter. I know there's fish in there......I'll find em!

      Water Temp: 49-52

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: What would the weekend be without a CFW report? I knew it would be tough today with the cold fronts and rain along with a full moon and I was right. All my normal Rock Creek spots produced a big goose egg along with all my main body areas so I headed to the sulpher cliffs around noon (lots of coffee today) and the entire day changed. Landed over a dozen in the deeper water working a tube right along the walls where the sun was heating the cliff facings. Lost one of the biggest bass I ever had hooked at CFW and saw her surface twice before she took off straight ahead and I couldn't spool line off fast enough and got snapped off. It was at least a 5-6 pounder if it was an ounce. A real heart breaker! The water was a lot cooler and muddier in Rock Creek and cleaner in "the pits" where all the action was today. Wound up with an even dozen with best five keepers going a solid 12 lbs today. Lake has really come up with the latest rain storm and is only 3' from full so the storm this week will definately finish filling it to the brim.
      City: Wheatland

Tips: Find cleaner water and depth of 20-25' and you will find some nice fish, especially if you have rocks heated by the sun. Once again, the magnificent tube produced all the fish today although the bite was tough and had a hard time getting them to commit to the hook in the first 3 hours of the day which has normally been the best catching time. A nice warm front of 3-4 days without rain and it will be on like donkey kong!

      Water Temp: 49-53

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Launched at 7, tried fishing in shallow waters in the morning, couldnt get nothing. Then we went to deeper water (15-25ft deep) and looked for warm temps. I caught 3 and my dad caught 1. Biggest fish about a 2 1/2lb. We left around 1 with 4 fish in the boat. (released)
      City: Yuba City

Tips: Use Tubes, Spider Jigs, and Cinkos. We found fish in warm temps, we stayed in clear-ish water. its really muddy in some places.

      Water Temp: pretty darn col

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: This was our first trip to this lake (ever). Launched at 7 am and had our first fish by 7:30. A nice 4 1/2 pound bucketmouth. Landed many more smaller ones before exploring the lake a bit more. Found an area on the north end of the lake that seemed to keep re-loading on fish. We would hit it, catch a few and then double back to it after drifting by some trees and we would always catch a couple every time back. Biggest fish was our first one (4 1/2)and only 1 smallmouth caught all day. As for almost every single lake in California, this lake is very low but at least there was a ramp in the water :) I can see how this lake can produce some nice bass at the right times.
      City: Oroville

Tips: We caught them on a lot of stuff but our best producer was a drop shot fished 2 cranks off the bottom(no matter the depth) The big fish came on a K.V.D. sexy shad spinnerbait. It was the only fish caught on a spinnerbait. The smallie ate a bitsy jig with a black yum trailer. We were using all kinds of colors on the drop shot. With no 1 color being better than the rest. even caught a nice 3 pound trout while using 2" smelt on the drop shot. FISH SHALLOW if you want the big ones :)

South end near the bridge and beyond was very muddy. Mid lake and the north-end were lightly stained. North end temp was 57 by 1600.
Spoke to another fisherman at the end of the day who also did alright. Looks like its starting to turn on.

Report: Sid Cover a lot of water right now with red craw speed traps and blades to locate fish then slow down and try jigs, craws and 8 in worms. Fish the entrances to dead end sloughs, think about where they will be spawning and then fish out from there. Last thursday I was catching them from 1 to 5 ft.

      City: Colusa

Tips: hit the top of the grass all the way to deep water. The fish were hitting the bait in the deepest water. fish slow. Be ready.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: My wife and I fished together in our Fellowship of Christian Anglers Society tournament. Started in Horseshoe throwing a crankbait and a spinnerbait trying to locate fish. Caught first keeper on the blades 1.5 lbs on a secondary point. Slowed down and made several more passes with a drop shoted watermelon red worm and picked up keepers 2&3. Moved to the island in Horseshoe and hooked up with a big fish on the drop shot, and after a stressful battle landed keeper 4- 5 1/2 lbs. continued around the island and picked up keeper 5 on a c-rigged lizard. Had my limit by 9:45. Cought a few more on the d.s., c-rig, and wacky rigged senko. but wasn't able to cull. My wife caught all hers on the d.s. but didn't get her fifth fish until 20 minutes before weigh-in. I ended up in first with just under 11 lbs. and my wife finished third. Heard that a little girl fishing in the Mike Van Guilder Sr. tournament caught an 11.75. Way to go!

      Water Temp: 47-50

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: To coin the Southwest commercial, Get Your Bags, It's On! What a beautiful morning and the lake was virtually empty but the bass were waiting in anticipation for whatever you wanted to feed them. Conditions were wonderful as the lake is about 12' from full pool and I was finally able to get to my "honey holes" back in Rock Creek. My first fish was a nice 3 pounder followed by a fiesty 5 lb largemouth. I took over 18 pounds of bass from Rock Creek in less than 2 hours, of course released. Headed to the main body and had a field day once more on tubes and Senkos. Running out of coffee around 12:30, I called it a day but chances are pretty good I'll be back tomorrow. This place is turned on so enjoy the bite while you can and before we get run over by power boats.
      City: Wheatland

Tips: Looked down the throat of the first bass caught to determine what color to throw next but it proved that the tail of the shad sticking out was identical to my tube color. Always look to see what they are eating to match their meal. I worked reaction baits with no success but tubes and Senkos were the ticket. Toss near submerged shrubs and work it slowly and I had a light bullet weight on the Senko in watermelon and they ate it up and when they bit....you knew you just got hammered.
