      Water Temp: 54

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Put a friend on some of my spots last weekend for a club tourney. They used the same set up as me and Scott.Sinkos in the watermelon black flake / Jigs in brown with green pumpkin twin tails. Along with a drop shot. They took first place with 12.65 lb, not as much wait as me and Scott had the week before but they got in to a lot of fish. This is a awesome lake with lots of fish, but like all lake you have to put your time in on the water and find them.
      City: Galt

Tips: Put your time in on the water before you doubt others report. I put my time in on this lake for 15+ years and there is still days I don't do that well. Tight lines and happy fishing

      Water Temp: 47-49

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: I did a little scouting trip yesterday late afternoon and again this morning - about 3 hrs each trip. The lake has nice color in the main body and is fairly dingy up the river. I targeted off shore structure in the main body and found a few takers! I caught 2 and lost one at the boat in the afternoon a missed 3 more. The biggest one took a rainbow trout colored D&M Piranha swim jig in about 15 feet of water. The other bites were on a Blade Runner jig. This morning I only got bit 3 times and landed a largemouth close to 3 lbs and another quality spot - both on a brown/orange jig. I did try to locate some shallow fish but no-go. All bass were on some type of rock structure 12 to 20 feet.
      City: Yuba City

Tips: The lake is down 23 feet but still rising. No bass migrations to the shallows has taken place yet as far as I can see. Nice to see some activity though!

Report: i happen to see the last too posts about smallies and spots. About 7 or 8 years ago while night fishing - I DID catch a 14 inch spotted bass in Amador. There was no doubt - looked like a clone from Oroville. It was soon in the garbage can. Some say there are spots in Pardee - that is where this one probably came from.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: This is in response to the guy asking if anyone fished here lastely. As this is my most favorite lake, havent gone out for a month or so. last time i went it was all baby red senkos drifting the bottom...BUT, took my kids to Hensley just so they could do some trout fishing and i walked the shore dreaming of a few bass. Well it came true. I was fishing a few coves around the boat launch area...opposite of the swimming area launch. Kids caught their trout while mommie used a half 6" big red senko and caught a 3lber and then a bit later there are some rocks across the parkling lot and i was able to land my baby red senko right on the rocks and drag it off and bam, another 3lber...then it was time to go...i think bass are coming...God, what a long season it seems before the bass come.
      City: Clovis

Tips: Large or preferred small red senkos. Weightless with the big ones and a small bullet on the small ones.

      Water Temp: 49-50deg

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: started main body points...a few missed hits dragging jigs. picked up a few spots on dartheads in 15-20ft. consistently saw fish at 22ft so worked this depth for 3-4 more. moved up south fork and just picked points that everyone else wasn't working. found a good rocky point that transitioned to gravel and picked up 4 more. all these on 1/4oz darthead in both aaron's magic and morning dawn....folsom bass's preferred worms! all good 1.75 - 2 pounders. nice day but had to keep moving. that's funny - work slow but keep moving! and i guess be prepared for the ticket because we heard someone said someone they know reported to the sheriff's dept seeing several bass guys ignoring the 5mph. we also saw a couple of winter jetskiers with roostertails.
      City: folsom

Tips: just because the electronics don't show fish doesn't mean they're not there. keep draggin' the dartheads and finesse jigs. brother's first few hits were all jigs. then he did a length-wise wacky with the head in line with the darthead and that worked for our last 4. 10-20ft and some inlets. bites are soft and not always obvious. hurry up spring!! wanna crank!!!

      Water Temp: Low 50's

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Had a club tournament at New Melones.
Weather was overcast to start the day and started raining by 7am. It rained moderately hard until noon with gentle wind 5-10 mph that blew off and on. Then a cold front came over and the wind and rain stopped.
Water color was not a clear as last month, but still clear. Visibility was down to around 5-8'. Water temp was low 50's and water level had been rising.
We fished main lake points that had wind blowing onto the bank and most of our fish came on Norman Deep Little N's during the wind and rain in less than 10 feet of water. I thew lavender shad and my brother threw chartreuse with purple back. Once the wind and rain stopped, so did the bite.
We switched to plastics and only caught 2 more. Both came on Zoom watermelon candy shaky head worm, on a 3/8 shaky head in 20 feet of water.

In talking with folks at weigh in, it seemed like everyone threw different stuff. We heard of guys throwing spinner-baits, wacky senkos, jigs, shaky heads, spider jigs, drops shots...you name it. I think all but 3 boats out of 22 weighed in a limit (7 fish).

Still had fun, despite the weather.
      City: Sonora

Tips: Bite was very soft. Even on the cranks it just felt heavy, like pulling through brush or over rocks. Watch your line when fishing the plastics. You might feel a slight bump at most, but you will definitely see your line start to move out to deep water...then set it!

      Water Temp: 51

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Hit the lake around noon. Fished mostly swim baits, spinner and cranks. Ended up with only 3 bites all day and one chaser. All bites were on swim baits. 2 of my buddies were on the lake and come to find out they killed them. They caught over 15 with the best five close to 15 pounds. If I did not see it for myself I would of said no way with the luck me and my brother had.
      City: Antelope

Tips: Fish finesse and shallow that is what killed them for my friends. I NEED THE HORSHOE THEY HAVE IN THERE BOAT.... GET THE BANNANA OUT OF MY BOAT IT IS BAD LUCK....

Report: Windier than SH*T today but went out anyway, better than goin home and being badgered by the wife. Got 2 in about 2 hours in the coves by the damn, not big at all, Id say about 1-2 Lb range, better than nothin.
      City: San Jose

Tips: Used jig-n-pig setup, dark colors with chartreuse tips.

      Water Temp: ?

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Wow what a great day of fishin, I caught 2 carp, 8 bass and a COLD! Right on!
Let the carp rod sit while I walked the shore for bass for the hell of it, almost lost my pole on the second one even though I anchored it tight, the thing was about 15 lbs so I wasnt surprised.
Hit ALL of the bass in coves seeking cover, the are holding tight to cover so you gotta go looking for them. Winter slows down the metabolism and they were sluggish on the fight. I know this because I worked for In Fisherman for 13 years, so Im better than you too.
      Tight lines suckas!
      City: Santa Clara

Tips: Use jigs, use jigs, use worms.
Really anything to knock them on the head and get the bass-turds to bite cause they aint gonna chase it!

      Water Temp: 40ish?

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Went tubing today, Jesus what a mistake, my tube lost water so I had to ditch it and swim. Kept my rods though and the lures I had on them already, took off the wet suit and kept fishin, what the heck right?
Turns out after fishin my tube out Browning had some faulty seals on the air valve, time to make a few phone calls.
Anyway, I still caught some fish by the bridge but I had to work for them. Got a ticket for pissin under the bridge by fish n game. What a good day!
      City: Palo Alto

      Tips: WEAR A WETSUIT!

Report: Don, left out some important stuff. I fish crankbaits just because I enjoy throwing them. But around this time going into March, guys are also flippin' and esp in March, they throw Senkos, flukes, and jig/pigs too...I just hate all the mess that comes up with the jigs. But I also do punchin', even when it's cold. Fish large weed beds located between current and slack current areas. I was flippin' tules a couple weeks ago and had two takers...one in the morning and one mid afternoon....only ones that day. But in March, I'd throw the cranks and spinnerbaits when your family gets up here. If they don't work, use everything mentioned and everything else in your tackle box!! Good Fishin..tight lines!!
      City: Sacramento

Tips: Try cranks and spinnerbaits for reaction...then senkos and flippin jig/pigs.

Report: Don, you're asking for friendly advice and that's what most would hope for. I didn't have much so didn't respond til I saw the response you got. Shouldn't be like what you just got. Here's what I know: It's been a bit slow during this cold/rainy weather and we're hopeful it will pick up real soon! Spotty for the average bassers and the good ones (guides, pro-ams, etc) seem to boat at least a couple/few and you'll have seen some just below your post. That's blacks and stripers. I generally like crankbaits, esp lipless, but I've seen some guys working divers. Spinnerbaits in white and crawdad red have worked, but not sure about this time of year. I'm just average and 50/50 at best. I'd think by end of Feb/early Mar, you'll be on to some pre-spawn bass. Also, though cold and sometimes wet, strictly striper guys are still out there using sardines/anchovies on a slider rig out in Frank Tract and their secret spots for stripers. When moving to another spot, troll divers like Yozuri or Rebel or 1 oz Cordell spots. If nothin else, you'll have fun shakin' with some scrappy shakers!
      City: Sacramento

Tips: You already know how credible it isn't....so take the red snapper advice in good fun.
