Water Temp: 52
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Launched at Markley and fished the Narrows from Rock Slide to the Dam. Water is up 10'+ and the primary ramp appears to be nearly available for use. Water clarity definitely stained after the rains. Caught 5 spots all around 2 lbs. All caught on watermelon tubes fished for a reaction strike. Tried to downsize/dropshot to get more bites but no results.
City: San JoseTips: I'd like to know what the AC guys did to catch 17 lbs!

Report: Some moron caught a VERY large bass today and kept it! This was also a man that hiked in without paying. Report these people! Why take one of these magnificant "reproducing" fish just to kill it?
City: AntiochTips: Encourage catch and release....please!

Water Temp: not sure
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Hello all,
Well they must have read some of these reports because they chased me off the docks(lol). But they were nice about, just an FYI the DFG is around and checking.I had one huge blow-up this morning on a swim bait. We watch a kids rod go out for a swim and about a 4 pound bass running off with it about 50 yards out. The kid was using a night crawler.tight lines Chief
City: CamarilloTips: Leave the bail open or in free spool, just might save your combo.

Sonoma Lake

Water Temp: 50-51
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Fished 8 to 2 in Dry Creek arm. Tried brush hogs, pointers, and drop shot, no takers. Then went into Yorty and fished hog again and got my first/only bite: 5 lbs even, 20 inches. And not more than 15 feet deep either, which surprised me. Beautiful fish; great color to her. Electronics showed an abrupt change in depth, so she was probably on the break. So, not much action, to say the least (for 6 hours of fishing), but at least the action quality.
City: San RafaelTips: Brush hog. 'Boring' type of fishing, but it produces if you're realllllly patient with it.

Water Temp: 48 or so
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Went out with my good friend Jim for our first 2011 Bass. What a beautiful day on the lake - except for the fishing part. There was a team tournament out of the north end but did not see one person catch a fish all day. At the ramp boater with 3 guys said they did Ok with a 6# as the big fish but were using minnows all day. Water temp rose as much as 4 degrees in the shallower flats but no luck there. Fished 5 to 30 feet and everythign in between, off-shore rockpiles, rattlesnake, state park, redbud arm, never had a fish on. Mostly plastics, brush hog, drop shot, but tried many others, spinner bait, swim baits, jerk bait, crank bait, jig, etc. Then at 4:30 heading back to the ramp Jim opened the rear locker we had our food in my first nightmare. He had a banana in the bottom of his lunch bag. Fishing was tough enough without that bad luck charm in the boat. "I forgot to eat it on the ride up" was all he could say.....still had a good time getting out on the water.
City: PacificaTips: Minnows if you are so inclined....and no Banana.

Water Temp: 48
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Weather was perfect this weekend sat and sun...the rains stayed away until Sun night. Fishing was slow but the quality is great. Jigs fished slow near ledges and rocks is the deal. But if you want constant action take some jumbo minnows - the minnow bite is off the chain. Got some rip fish but the bigger fish all came on the jig. Water level is coming up so thats a really good thing. You can launch from the Lucerne Harbor again.
City: FairfieldTips: Fish slow unless you gow tih minnows. also there's a new tackle shop down the street from the Lucerne ramp - stopped in and met the owner George...really nice guy and very nice shop.

Water Temp: 47-49
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: A friend and I decided to check out the winter night bite for a few hours Fri night. We fished from 7:30 pm 'til midnight. The bite started out pretty good for fair sized bass up to 5 1/2 lbs. In fact, the first 5 were a little over 22 lbs. No big fish hookups however. We fished several rocky areas in the narrows and south end - most fish taken about 25-30 feet. We were 10 for 11 - 11 hooked, 10 landed. Again - timing! The clouds parted and the fish got smaller - one even at 2 lbs! One doesn't usually see those fish in the winter at night. At least the warm cloud cover lasted for awhile. Four, including the 5 1/2, were caught on my black/red D&M Piranha Swim Jig with a Berkely Power worm trailer, and the rest on brush hogs and Kreature baits.
City: Yuba CityTips: Hope to see lots of you at the ISE show in Sacramento, Thurs thru Sun. Kent Brown has again lined up lots of great speakers and a great roundtable discussion mid-day on Sat. I will be speaking on deep water techniques at 11:30 am Thurs and Fri.

City: FremontTips: Tough conditions. With the much needed rain we will be getting. This place will get real muddy and fishing will get even tougher.Good time to sharpen those hooks and stay warm.

Report: Fished one small area up South Fork for all fish which ranged to four and one half pounds, (all spots).Stayed within a fifty yard circle. Spots came up at various times, not all at once. I left at elen thirty. All fish were no deeper than 30 ft with most shallower than that.Natural Shad senkos, 3", rigged with small nail weight and wacky rigged.
Tips: Deadsticking, hit on the fall or worked really slow was the only way I could get bites.

Water Temp: 45-48
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Help! We need 2011 on the date icon! Mike Sperbeck and I shook off holiday cobwebs and decided to get nice and cold at night on Clear Lake. Maybe the fishing would be hot!! Well, sorta - in a 15 minute period! We started about 10 pm - Mike throwing a brush hog and me using the trusty black/red D&M Piranha swim jig w/ 6" Yamamoto grub trailer. Within minutes I felt a pressure movement and set the hook. My first 7 pounder in awhile at Clear Lake found her way to the net. Wow, I wasn't sure there was any of those left in the south end. After regrouping, the next cast produce as much of a bite as one will get in 45 degree water. This time she was 6 lbs 13 oz. About 5 minutes, Mike's hog works some magic and he is into his first - and only - nice bass. She went 6 lbs 1 oz. I had one more good fish on which I lost. That was it folks - 4 bites, 3 in the boat for an ounce or two under 20 lbs. That is almost like the 'ol days (er, nights!!)
City: Yuba CityTips: The air temp was up to 65 degrees during the day and might have brought the nice ones up a little shallower. All our hits were about 15 to 25 feet deep. I saw deeper fish on my new Lowrance HDS-7 (WOW, what a unit!) but couldn't get then to go. Lake lever looks great - only about a foot and a half to full pool. Our fish were caught in 45 degree water. We found lots of 47 and 48 degree water - no bites!

Report: Fished Franks Tract, Calm water, FOGGY,UNSAFE conditions.Through Money Minnows all day, did not pick up another rod. Caught 3 stripers to #4s. I fished openings, points, and backside current.talked to 2 other boats on the water, they said they had not even been bit since sun-up.
Tips: I did not see birds working, so I fished what looked good. The Clear water is put the Bite on Hold. Hope the rain warms the water and puts a stain on it, then I will throw the Rattle Trap like Idid this time last year with Success. If you saw me out there yesterday,I was in the Blue Champion. You have my permission to fish anywhere I fish or Report. If you see me out there just wave, I release everything so there will be fish for my Grandchildren.
OH YA, DRIVE SLOW IN FRANKS. THERE IS LOOSE FLOATING PEET, AND ABOUT 15 DUCK BLINDS. -

Report: sounds like someone went and told. maybe try the opposite (if u ever decide to share again)... tell what works but don't tell them where. well i can understand if others were just catch n releasin like us but what they did was wrong. ruined it for others!!
City: stocktonTips: if someone gives u a tip, consider it private unless they tell u ok to share. i've been given lots of tips and have kept the trust. ok, back to reports. hope someone posts something...is the crank bite still around?

Water Temp: 57
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: The trout plants seem to be showing up pretty regular, they planed 800 lbs at Coyote ramp today about 10:00. Seems the staff at the lake may be calling their friends who fish for trout as they are waiting for the truck when it shows up and fishing off the docks at the ramp that say no fishing on them, there is no enforcement either. The bite has been tough and the fish are deep as is typical for this time of year. Got on some with the carolina rig and had a good few hours. Pretty crowded at the Coyote docks, I took a look and headed for the other end of the lake. Dont forget a needle to fizz fish or a weight of 3-4 0z on some line to get them back deep this time of year.
City: Oak ViewTips: Carolina oxblood robo's
