      Water Temp: 73

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: I really had a nice day Thurs with two great guys - and a chance to use the new ramp. Wow - very good! We started at first light - good thing - spots were on a tear! Client got an "over" spot on the first cast. I wish I could say more about the trip but they are tournament folks. Lots of bass with 5 good ones - about an 11 - 12 lb limit. Lost 2 big fish. The north wind had died, making for a beautiful day. Water color was very nice - little bite of a green tinge.

Tips: Can't say anything. Good luck to all!

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Late report-got in a 45 minute session off the dock at dusk on Tues 29th. Between 6:30-7:15 got 3 in about 3-6' feet of water, first two on a 7.5" Robotail neon grn pmkn texas style, last one on a Revenge craw clrd jig with a grn pmkn rage tail trailer. Didn't launch the boat so didn't have my scale, but all three nice fish around 4lbs + each. Threw a spook for awhile, no action. Bite switched off right at dark. The wind and the cooler nights have really helped with the ugly water. Wasn't expecting much, just screwing around and BAM! Glad I got a line wet!
      City: Clear Lake Park

Tips: Long sweeps with both worms and jigs. Dragged 'em a couple/few feet, long pause, repeat. They'd take it after it stopped. In hindsight I would've used black/blue/dark colors 'cause of low visibility. Wasn't being too subtle, they needed movement to find the bait. Lot's of smelly jelly.

      Water Temp: 74

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Launched at Big Break Marina Saturday morning before the sun came up at 6 am. I was with two other anglers. Both were experienced bass fisherman but neither have targeted striped bass out on the California Delta. Just as the sun was coming up the tide turned and started rising. We exited the marina and immediately started seeing smaller sized stripers busting smelt on the surface. Throwing topwater lures by the boils, we each caught a few 3-7 pounders. Poppers, Vixens, and Lunker Punkers all were working. The tide was moving along pretty well, and so were the fish. We would get a double hook up and next thing you know, the school of fish was 200 yards away. The area we fished had a huge flat with a deeper little ditch running through the middle of it. During the early morning the fish were quite scattered because of the low light conditions. The water was super clear (5-6 ft), the light morning breeze dyed and the sun got higher in the sky, most of the fish pulled out to the deeper ditch. Before leaving that spot at 9am, we were already at 10 stripers and 3 largemouth. Our next stop was Sherman Island. The tide was middle incoming and the water was a little more stained (2-3 ft.). Because of the hot calm conditions, I stayed off the flats, and concentrated on the openings near the main channel. Areas with hard bottom and current were key. We caught another 8 schoolie size stripers on hair jigs and fish trap swimbaits. By noon the tide peaked and it was close to 100 degrees out. The outgoing tide was moving extremely slow, so we decided to switch gears and bring out the flipping rods for largemouth bass. Flipping Brush Hogs, Beavers, and Senkos, we each caught one two pounder flippin tules by Eddo

Report: Got out early with the wind and threw my triple trout. Landed 2 10lbrs at rattlesnake bar. Went over to the dam and landed a 6lber on the same swimbait. Great day to be out fishing with this lovely overcast. Got bored of pulling in hawgs and tied on a roboworm. Slayed the little ones on my favorite under water island.

Tips: Get out on these weather changes. Great anglers look for these stuff.

Report: Hit the lake around 8:00am, headed south, hit my first spot, immediately caught two drop shot fish, the second was 2 lbs. Kept moving down the lake hitting various points along the way, managed to catch 9 fish, 3 in the 2 pound range, the rest around the 1 lb range. All my fish came on a drop shot in 15-20 feet on points. Drop shot was 6 inch straight tail robo worm in oxblood light red flake. Off the lake around 12:15, quick trip, but some weekends that is all you have time for.
      City: Hollister

Tips: Get out there, the bite is pretty good right now.

Report: Basin Bassmasters of Loomis did there tournament out of Markley Cove. 12 teams left the marina with the hopes of coming back in with a big bag, but only one team blanked. For most of them the north paned out with top water baits near the weed lines, some anglers were back in the covers. We found spoon-in in deeper water was ok but no keepers. Back in Rage cove drop shot in a cove we found our first keeper at 1:30 and within 30 minutes we had our limit. At the weigh in the best bag was 11.37 and second 10.71. Most on top water all day.
      City: Rocklin

Tips: In backs of coves in the main body

      Water Temp: 76

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: I fished Comanche Thur thru Sunday AM. I averaged 12-15 bass each day with one 20 fish day. There was a great top water bite from 6:00 -7:15 PM each night. Caught numerous 3lb fish and one 4lber. Top water fish were caught along the rocky shore in the upper river area. Sara spooks and tiny torpedoes were the best baits. The morning and afternoon bite was slow due to extreme heat and limited to smaller fish caught on drop shot robo worms and Comanche Jack plastics in 20ft off rocky points. Tried crank bait and carolina rigged plastics and nada. Caught a couple of missed top water fish on senko.
      City: Foster City

Tips: Fish top water late evening and drop shot during the morning. Sleep during the heat of the mid-day

      Water Temp: 71-76

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Started late and left early but just disgusting water. Launched at the oaks. The green scum layer in some places was several inches think. Tried to find clearer water, north to Shag rock no luck, the break south of there was clearer but no luck, got a couple dinks on a dropshot off old dock piers in 8ft. Tried 15-25 ft water with no luck, plastic, swimbait, crankbait. Finally, on the way out stopped by Rattlesnake and the water was clearer from the island to about 10 feet deep. Ended up with another 6 fish in 45 minutes on a Senko. No size though. Saw alot of shad that were 1-1.25 inches. No clearlake hogs I was looking for.
      City: Pacifica

Tips: I did not find anything deep and there are fish under the scum.

Someone let us know when the lake turns and the water clarity comes back.....

Report: Camped this weekend at the State Park and got to fish in the biggest green, slimy mess I have every fished in including the FL Everglades but overall once you get over the smell and the cleaning off your lure every other cast there are fish to catch. The bass seem to be on a shad pattern following the large schools into the shallows, once you find the shad just keep cover water. Caught 10 up to the 5.5lb range most in the 2.5-3lb range
      City: Wheatland

      Tips: spinnerbaits, topwater, and rattletraps

    • By

      Water Temp: 78

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: I went out for about 4 hours to check on the bite found tons of bait just graphing the creek channels leading into coves. I stayed with the spoon for most of the time and ended up with about 20 fish. Most of these fish were not keepers but it was a lot of fun just getting the bites. The bait fish are very small so I had to down size my spoon to get the bites. Cooler weather will be just what we need for this lake to go nuts.

      Water Temp: 68

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: My partner and I fished the first ever National Bass West Northern Team tournament here on Sunday. This organization is based in Southern California and have been around for awhile. It features 100% payback on everything with their sponsors picking up expences. You can check out everything at National Bass West.com. We launched from the new ramp at Bidwell (what a treat) and caught a bunch of fish throughout the day. The winning weight was over 12 pounds with big fish over 3. Most guys dart headed or drop shotted their limits fishing cuts. Specific baits were not mentioned but probably their favorite worm or tube etc. The next team tournament is at the end of the month and there is a pro team tournament here in a couple of weeks.
      City: Paradise

Tips: We used worms and senkos on dart heads to cull up to 9.35. We didn't find any concentrations of bait fish which could have helped are cause but I'm sure they're still around. If I went tomorrow I would probably use the same stuff, maybe add some tubes. Price to get thru the gate now is 13 bucks. Good Fishing
