Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Spent the late morning and afternoon along the State Park area with my float tube. At the mouth of Cole Creek I caught a bass on a silverish chatterbait outside a weed patch. At the mouth of Kelsey Slew I caught bass on a silver spinnerbait on a weed patch, and a bass on a reed point with a surface frog. At the beach area, I caught two bass in the reeds with a silver spinnerbait, and a three bass in the weed patches with a horny toad. Had a dozen of missed hits as well with the topwaters (I suck at topwater). Returned to the beach area in the evening before it got dark out, but the area was dead. All the fish today were in the 2-3.5 lbs size.
City: Livermore, CATips: Work the weed patches along the State Park area in the late morning/afternoon time with silver spinnerbaits and chatterbaits, as well as topwater lures. For topwater, surface frogs, buzzbaits, and horny toads are producing fish.

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Took the float tube out to the County Park area in the morning for a couple hours, but had no luck.
In the afternoon I head to the beach area at the State Park and fished the weed patches outside of the buoy line. There was a great afternoon topwater bite going on. Caught 2 bass on a blue/black buzzbait, and 4 bass on a dark green surface frog. Lots of missed fish as well, so if you're good with topwater lures, definitely give this spot a try. All the caught bass were in the 2-3.5 lbs range.
In the evening I headed to the opening of Cole Creek and fished the weed patches there as well. Caught 1 bass on a white spinnerbait, and 3 channel catfish on a white spinnerbait. The silver-sides were really active, and the catfish were gorging on them like crazy. If you want some good catfish action, head down there right before sunset and while the silver-sides are still active and try white spinnerbaits and kastmasters. Should be great!
City: Livermore, CATips: Work the weed patches along the State Park area with topwater lures and lures that imitate the silver-sides (such as white or silverish spinnerbaits).

Water Temp: 77
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Fine green algae everywhere. Fished from 5:30 am to noon. 26 fish with the best 5, 18 lbs. One big breakoff. Who knows. No fish on topwater. Only one fish undersized. Started to slow down about 11am
City: MaderaTips: Baby brush hogs (pumpkin), Dropshot MMIII roboworm, finesse worm with tiny splitshot at head, jigs.
Look for algae building up on surface in areas where the wind is blowing into. All fish were caught in less than 10ft of water with many caught in 2ft. They are under the thick algae crap chasing baitfish which are everywhere. Also on rocky points in shallow water.

Oroville Lake
-
Water Temp: 75
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: We were going to Clear Lake but heard the algae was worse than ever so decided to go back to Oroville.
On the water about 6:30 and started with a Vixen but no takers. Changed to the tube and partner a drop shot rig. We both started catching keeper fish almost immediately. They were anywhere from the bank out to 20' After about a half dozen or so 13" plus fish, we both wondered where the "horroville" dinks were. The last trip we had to work through them to find keepers and this trip we had not caught anything under 13" so far! Partner finally got one dink and we figured here we go. Got off the water at 3:30 and the total was 17 keepers about 3 dinks and more than 5 over the slot! Somewhere around 9-10# for the best five. One of the best summer days so far. Bite remained steady all day and we only moved once to fish in two areas.
City: RosevilleRosevilleTips: Fish came on tubes, darter, dropshot, and even a jig. Nothing on top water, cranks or blades. Usual Oroville colors worked.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Had a last minute ok to take my kid fishing. Off to wimpys we went close to home. Started at 2pm fishing right there in the mokolumne. Current is really moving again up there so i started looking for fish outside the weed edge in the current it diddnt take long pow a nice one on a spinner bait and a Florida Strain fat little bass with a creen colored craw in his mouth. Started flippin a new Berserk Baits Big Brawler watermelon red flake, flipping near wood and bamm! They were on it. Every fish I hooked my kid would run up and make me let her reel it in. She is 6 this is awsome she has some RB BASS in her DNA. Continuing up the mokolumne I started cranking near wood and POW the spotties came alive. Caught a few fish and my kid wanted a boat ride. So off we went out to the locke and up the Sac River. We went near the mouth of sutter slough and started cranking for little smallies and they were all little except one good one. Down to Steamboat we went and started using tubes and caught a few good ones on the switch of the tides. Moved out to the sac and watched the bankers keepin the smallies on night crawlers. Well its there right. we caught a bunch more little ones on Persuaders popping walker in a shad color. We had fun for a 5 hour trip Daughter and Dad little boat traffic and a lot of small fish. We caught northerns, floridas, spotties and smallies really cool.
City: SacramentoTips: Smaller line, smaller baits, light action rods, crawfish and shad patterns cover water..

Report: Bank fished with a Texas-rigged 4" Robo curly-tail in Aaron's Magic for 4 fish. 2 dinks off the old ramp at the picnic area early, 1 fish about 1-1.5lb from the parking lot side of the dam, and finished up with about a 2-2.5lber from the old land-slide structure near the point across from the picnic area. All fish came out of 6-8 feet of water near areas holding lots of fingerling baby bass.
City: sunnyvaleTips: Every where I got bit, there were schools of young bass and the Aaron's Magic curly tail sure seems to resemble a baby bass!

Water Temp: 72-76
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: This was my first trip to the Delta. What a fishery started at 6:15am. My second cast produced a 3lb largemouth followed by 7 more 1 to 4 pouder's. All this in a quarter mile stretch of seven mile slough. After a lull in the action.I spotted a school of strippers pushing small fry to the surface. I quickly pick up a lucky 13 and before it hit the water it was fish on. I caught 7 strippers before the action stop. These fish were all carbon copy two pounders. What a place I will be back and back often. I never started the big motor and only traveled two miles from the dock. fished for 3 hrs then off to work.

Folsom Lake

Water Temp: 76
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Prelude finally comes true as thought by past experience on this lake. Five or six limits off one spot up to four pounds. One smallie, rest were nice spots. Plastics worked great. Bigger fish were feeding shallow, smaller ones later on a little deeper, 25 35 ft. A friend pulled up and fished along side of me and caught swiftly about five, then the wind kicked up and we left for sheltered areas.
Tips: They are there and fat, feeding on bait. Concentrate on windward areas that concentrate bait balls. Darts or jim's special .

Oroville Lake
-
Water Temp: 76-78
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: The bite is difficult. Fished split shot and darter heads in various colors. Most bites came in early morning. Caught a lot of smaller fish around 11"-12" from depths of 10'-25'. Fish over the slot were far and few. Should have fished more reaction baits in deeper water for larger fish. The lake is dropping approx. a foot a day so the fish are suspending.
Tips: Split shot and darter heads produced a lot of smaller fish. The bite turned off around 11:00am for us. For bigger fish I would try a Deep diving crankbait or slow roll a deep diving spinnerbait. The fish were throwing up a lot of shad at the boat. Look for cooler water. The bite is tough right now.

Report: Got on the water around 4:30am. Broke off really big stripper at the boat (i forgot the net! Roll Eyes put around 15-20 bass in the boat most around 2-3lbs and 10-12 strippers in the boat most around 1lb, maybe 1.5lbs. All of the bass were caught on Dirty Jigs, shallow cranks in craw colors, and spooks. It was so calm all day out there it was weird....... and the water is extremley clear. All in all a really fun and exciting day, strippers are moving in, there are wolf packs of little guys running around, eating any lure you throw at them.
Pic of the big girl for the day!!! my partner had a hog on but it broke the line on his fairy wand, i mean spinning real. 8lb test? on the delta?
