Water Temp: 71-73
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Started off throwing lipless hung a nice over fish on about third cast threw it about a half hour longer for nothing. Picked up the staysee 90 hung one fish that unbuttoned early felt like a nice fish. Back seat was throwing top water not even a swirl. We both switched plastics and caught 10 or so 14"ish fish.(dart head) Finished the day throwing wake baits and couldn't keep them off. Ended around 20. Not near as good as I thought it would be. But I suck at finesse fishing, my line for the day was, "I should of set the hook that was a fish". Wife caught a nice Lg Mouth on wake bait. Not the best day fishing but better then a kick in the seat. oh ya also through a spinnebait got a few bumps but nothing would commit.
City: Yuba CityTips: pumpkin colored worms and set the steel when ever you feel anything, they were barely grabbing the baits.

Water Temp: 72 - 76
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: On Saturday, 6/6/09, I fished the back seat of my buddy
Tips: Try top water early in the morning and late in the afternoon.
I also want to thank the Corp of Engineers for clearly marking the cables hooked to the dock. As I mentioned in a previous report, another fishing buddy of mine tripped on one of the cables and fractured his arm. After he talked to a manager at the lake about the safety issue, they responded back to him within an hour that they had painted and marked the cables to make them more visible. Thanks again for making the rapid safety improvement.

Clear Lake
-
Water Temp: 71-74
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Fished Friday from about 2pm until dark. Wind was nasty so we looked for cover. fished the south end from bass alley to Cache creek....nothing happening. Finally found them up by Jago and Henderson. All fish were on the outside weed lines in about 5-8 feet of water, especailly if there was a dock piling. Senko was the ticket....threw all kinds of reaction for nothing. All fish were 2-3 lbs. Caught 10-12 each before heading in. got back out on the lake early Saturday morning and found a nice topwater bite with a baby bass spook jr. Caught 7-8 before they stopped hitting the spook. Middle of the day was slow, with an occasional fish on a senko or Margarita Mutilator Roboworm. Found a couple fish on a rock pile with a jig. Found a couple more flipping way back in some tullies. Missed one on a frog, and that was the only action I hade with Kermit. The bite was definately slower on Saturday. Last couple fish came on a DT 10 crankbait off a point. Only reaction fish of the trip.
City: SacramentoTips: Throw a spook in the morning! Switch to plastics and jigs during the day. Look for clearer water. The water farther down south was really murcky and didn't produce as good.

Water Temp: 69-71
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Sometimes, amazing happns! Didn't know what to expect with the weird weather lately. I was helping a fellow prepare for an up-coming night tourny. We fishing below the narrows which is all I can say. We were surprised at now good the early evening and night bite was - 17 in the 2 hrs before dark and 11 after dark. And his fish total was 17 out of the 28 we caught. A few in the 1 3/4 to 2 lb range, but the rest were good quality - several in the 4 lb range. We were a few ounces shy of 20 lbs for our 5 best. Found some as deep as 20 feet this trip.
City: Yuba CityTips: Weeds, weeds, weeds! It seems one can cast any where and there will be bass - because the bass and ANYWHERE!! Mo more "docks and rocks!" The Piranha swim jig started working again last night, though it was tough in the weeds. Had to pick your spots. I wasted a lot of time fishing all sorts of topwater, trying to force a bite. Conditions were just not good for that - but I did win one on a very long cast - a near 4 pounder on a white D&M buzzbait.

Report: My bro and I fished on 6/3 started at 0530 he caught 2 I caught 1 (1 to 2 bs) on superspooks shad color along the rock wall drops on the southwest end of the lake bite died at around 730. Caught one 3lb on drop shot senko pumpkin with red flake along the rocky banks to the left of the creek arm on the right side at around 1030. That was it for the rest of the day. Called it at 2pm. I went back on 6/5 at 0600 caught nothing on top water went ban to the pumpkin red senko and fished the back where the creek drains into the lake about 6 to 8ft casted down the middle into the submerged grasses landed three loss two plus five hits biggest one 2 1/2 Lbs. It was a good day. Seems the bite is improving or maybe just found the right rig good luck guys prob be out again nxt week.
City: PattersonTips: Senkos purple or green pumpkin drop shotting roll the submerged grasses don't concentrate on the banks

Oroville Lake

Water Temp: 69-73
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: I took out a very good fisherman Friday thinking it was winter instead of summer. What a storm this last week. The water temp droped a degree and really spread the bass out. We did find small bass up close on rocky walls and some shallows. The top water bite was off but we had a few blow-ups. I watched a nice bass come off a shallow rocky point and follow the spinner bait right up to it and bump it ,but did not eat it. I was sure my client was going to get bit, but that was the kind of day it was. We did get bit on tubes and senko's. We had lots of bracket bass with only one over.
City: ParadiseTips: I could list every thing we used that got bumped or bit, but the only thing that caught bass Friday for us were tubes and senko's

Water Temp: 68
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Man, took two buddies out foe some fun fishing today. Rained the whole day, but not real cold, and no wind to speak of. Slammed the spots all day. In 5 hours we boated at least 60 fish. Dark colored jigs, senkos, and tubes. The fish were shallow, and were still on the spawing stuff. (gravel and small rock.) All were post spawn, but fun to catch. We were fish the Squaw arm.
City: ReddingTips: If you can't catch fish now you might as well take up another sport.

Amador Lake
-
Water Temp: 76
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: I got to fish Amador with a friend this Thursday. We fished from 3:30 pm - 2:30 am. This was the day after several successive days of major thunderstorms so we didn't know what to expect. The weather was decent, though, but a bit windy during the afternoon and evening. The moon phase was about 3 days before full and the lake was about 8 feet from full, the water was pretty stained (4'). The weeds are showing up pretty strong and the moss is getting started in places too. We got a few fish during the afternoon but it was very slow and no size to speak of. Zero topwater boils. When the sun was getting low in the sky about 45 minutes before sunset we started catching fish on Senkos in pretty windy conditions. I got a solid 3 on a 7" white Senko then my friend got an 8.0 about 20 minutes before sunset, the fish fought great. Later we got a 4.7 and a 5.6 with the rest below 3.0. Our best five-fish weighed about 23.3 lbs. We also got bit on spinnerbaits and jigs but the Senkos seemed to work the best because of the weeds and moss. Overall, the fishing was pretty slow in between a few quality fish. I got my 5.6 at about 2:25 am so the quality fish were still active when I we left.
City: FolsomTips: Give the Senkos plenty of time to sink. We caught fish on main lake points as well as secondary points deep in coves.

Berryessa Lake
-
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Hey Riverrats- Been fishing Berry for kokes and kings over the past month. Done well for large kokes (15"-17"+) right out of Capell and off of Spanish Flats out to the main body. Most boats are conregating outside of Steele Park in the main lake. There are def. fish there but there are usually so many boats that I try to avoid it until the afternoon when most trollers quite. Had one boat nearly run into me, 3 boaters and no one watching where they were going. Saw their downriggers run under my boat on the fishfinder! I was sitting dead motor reeling in a fish and had to yell at the top of my lungs to get their attention finally.
Fishing has also been good the early afternoon, so as long as the sun is not scortching you off the lake, dont be afraid to troll as late as 5pm. After that the kokes seem to shutdown.
Been catching them from 35-50 ft over 100-130 ft. of water. But one day caught a bunch right by the 5mph buoys in Capell. Must have been some cold inflow. Havent caught any in there since. I have been catching almost all of the fish on orange apexs, but also caught fish on pink and watermelon apex, red/pink spinners, and pink super hoochies with gold blades. Most fish coming on lures pulled behind gold dodgers. Silver/red slingblades also working.
Water has been very clear but might have changed due to recent weather system.
City: DavisTips: Downriggers 35-50 ft. over 100-130 ft. water. Orange apex (hot orange, not the light orange) behind gold dodger. Put release about 3 feet above the ball and use a ball troll (Cannonball of Capt Jack 6 shooter). Ball troll seems to be really helping. Troll from mouth of capell cove/spanish flats out to river channel. Fish moving to main lake over deeper water so spend more time around the river channel in the main lake between steele park and the big island. Also getting some small kings and larger trout on rolled shad behind silver slingblades from 60-85 feet.
Try to troll away from the sun or parallel to the sun to keep the shade of the boat off your gear.
Good luck!
