Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Terrorizing the black bass on cheap skirted 1/2 0z jigs(blu/blk red/blk) with brush hog trailers around the docks and rocks at disco....Then a POP-R or Spook for at least an hour. At night, the waters boiling. Banks are producing 2, 3 lbs mostly on top.
Jigs are producing hawgs as usual in between the banks and the weed line. Biggest was 6 lbs on the drop. Slammed it. Same results on the hidden ponds in my backyard.....but better fish.....Is this heaven?
      City: Discovery Bay

Tips: I fish JIGS all year round.....They produce big fish and thats that. Flip em, let it sit, tension, count to ten at least if you can and SLAM, if not jig it soft, or not, then let it sit keep your tension count to 5 then again......Start over. Catch most on the cast, so if no hits on my second third jig, flippin 4 feet to the right or the left...so bam....Senkos can be so boring.....But produce. And crank baits too.

      Water Temp: 78

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished friday afternoon and sat. morning. Did not do well. Friday managed a 5-12 and a 3-10 in the first few hours, but then the wind came up and couldn't fish where I hoped to. Sat. the wind was up from the get go and restricted where I could fish with my tin boat. I know the fish can be really stupid during the summer, but I think I was the only stupid one.
I still like fishing there as its so different than most places.
      City: orinda

Tips: Didn't get many bites, but where I did, it made sense,(humps and ledges) except there were only 1 or 2 bites in areas I normally do well. Fished the rattlesnake arm and the south end. Many banks had mucho weeds, grass or slime.

Report: The lake sucks this year because the big bass decided to protest the Quagga Mussel Inspections this year. Hopefully the situation will be resolved so the bass walk off the picket line.

      Water Temp: 65-70

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Went on a night expedition with a buddy and the water was surprisingly warm and clear for being cold at night. We started out with nightcrawlers and ended up with 6 3-4lb catfish, a 5lb striper and a 15inch throwback striper. We also caught another 3lb cat on a live crawfish that was caught at the lake. The catfish bite right now is excellent and stripers can be had in the mornings and evenings near the dam.

Please note that night fishing is illegal and you could end up with a trespassing charge.

Report: The fishing has been on and off this week .Outside temps going up and down have made it more of a chalange than normal.Monday, fished spooks for 10fish best five went 16lbs,Lm had bait cornerd in the backs of small bays.Tuse, the wind came in and spook bite had slowed to only four fish and the rest on blades.Got 11fish best five went 12lbs.Thurs, more wind cool night time temps only got one spook fish 4.3lb and went three hours without a bite so i gave up and got out the spinning rod and dropshoted to a limit of spotted bass out in 28ft, best five only 10lbs

      Water Temp: 74

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: I had the previlage of taking a wonderful family out fishing Thursday. We started in the main body fishing points and coves. It was just a little late to throw top water lures so I had them start out with tubes. The clear sparkle gitzit was the best producer. Most of the bass had their mouths full of pond smelt. You could see the bass chasing the pond smelt all over the main body. We moved up into the slot area and continued to catch some nice bass. They had around twenty bass with 4 over the largest being 2.7 lbs. and a nice Florida Large Mouth. Good to see these bass showing up more. I thought they did pretty good for a half day and just learning how to fish. The following day, Friday I took a seasoned fisherman out for a half day and the results were about the same with 3 over and another nice Florida Large Mouth.
      City: Paradise

Tips: Tubes, senko's,spinner baits, drop shot all worked. Try the top water lures first thing before the Sun is up. Then start useing the other methods. The Spillway ramp did close this week leaving Bidwell the only ramp open. On the weekends go early to miss the congestion. One ramp, one lane, and one short dock can back up real fast.

      Water Temp: 79'

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Wow, been a long time since I posted anything. Even though the lake is down over 100'. and the temp is way up. With the boat traffic and all. My most recent fishing trip was pretty good. My friend Bryce of MGM lures and I launched from the dam and fish the Backbone area till noon. we had approx.30 fish to 3 lbs. with several 2 lbrs. Top water sucked in the early going, but a darter head 5" senko produced all the fish. in 28-34 ft.
Did I mention a new Bass club in Redding? It's called "Fishers of Men". It's a Christain based Sportsmans club. We meet the first wed. of every month at 6 pm. and fish the 2nd sat.

      Water Temp: 79-81

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Fished the last 3 days and monday finally got into some GOOD quality. I fished topwater early but that only produced a few dinks ( 2-3lbs) swicthed over to the big worm and still couldnt find quality. Saw a ton of old bluegill beds so i figured the bass were on the blue gill fry. Tied on a Bill Norman DD22 in blue gill pattern and covered ALOT of water. I only caught 6 fish in the 4 hours i threw the crank but all were between 5-7lbs. If you want big fish at DVL and dont mind making a million casts.. mainlake points and a DD22 on 10lb will get you big fish.
      City: the ghetto

Tips: bury the rod tip in the water to get the bait down. Fish are in the 20 - 25ft range.
