Report: We know the dogs are a problem. You guys can help us keep the dogs under control. On the big brown sign that says DOG RULES: Dogs may not touch or jump on any park visitor that does not encourage or want contact with dogs.
We have too much to do lakefront, that we cant be out there patrolling all the time. BUT, if you come to the front, and flag down a ranger, PARK policeman, or you go to the kiosk (where you pay entry fees), and give us a description of the dogs, the owners, and a brief report of what happened, we'll go back and chase the owners down.
But please, take the initiative and tell the owners to call their dogs back.
As for the parking lot access, what we have now is what we have for good. If we were to extend the lot, build a path, etc. we would have to zone it, get it approved by multiple agencies, and have a lot of work go into it. Advice: park near that big main levee hill, and hike up the hill.
City: PleasantonTips: Tell a ranger of anything you think is out of the ordinary, annoying, or you dont like. We aim to please our guests.

Report: rangerdanger i have to agree with carl, keep those damn dogs out of the ponds,if your float tubing try getting in or out of the water,a dozen dogs running around growling barking knocking your poles over then the owners think its funny then theres crap all over the trails, tennis balls all around the shoreline, last week saw a dead bass with a tennis ball stuck in his mouth (have pictures).how about making the back lakes catch and release or change limit to 2
City: patterson -
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: To RangerDanger:
The lake is awesome, but there is one thing that can be changed: Easier access to the ponds. Arroyo Del Valle and especially Island Pond are difficult to access from the back parking for float tubers (atleast for me) and would like to see more parking or better access. Thanks.
City: San RamonTips: Im kinda on the heavy side.

Trinity Lake

Water Temp: 76
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Just a heads up on launching conditions. As of yesterday the end of the concrete was 3' deep at the Trinity Center ramp. There is, however, solid shale at the end of the ramp and several years ago I was still launching well beyond the end of the concrete. The Trinity Center Marina and store are still open and will remain so for the foreseeable future. These mountain folk are pretty resourceful and I expect the North end of Trinity will be very usable for some time to come. Remember the lower the lake, the more concentrated the fish are.
City: Trinity CenterTips: The topwater bite for small fish, with an occasional toad, has been great. Cranks have been working well. I haven't found the deep fish yet but I'm working on it. They are running out of places to hide.

Water Temp: 78
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: This past Friday I took Mike and his wife Kathy from Pa. out for a day of
fishing. My game plan was to fish our way to the vineyards. We started
off by trolling a lipless crankbait on one side of the boat and a minus lure
on the other side (closest to the shore). Trolling in about fifteen feet of
water over grass and rocks we hit some bass approx. 1.5 to 2 pound fish.
Mike stood up on the back of the boat and threw a chugger towards the
shoreline. He hit some nice size bass 2+ pounds. He landed a 5.4 pound
bass using brass and glass with a green senko in twenty feet of water at
one of the key points (see photo). Kathy who had never fished before and
wanted to out fish her husband gave it a good try and landed some nice
bass but he out fished her. We had a good time and a very productive day.
Friday evening I met up with my friend Albert B. and we did some fishing
from the dock and caught two catfish a 4+ and a 8 pounder and a few carp.
We had help from some of the kids at the dock (see photo). Sunday I fished
with Tom and his sister-in-law Maria and Anthony. We lost about eight carp
and landed six nice ones. 'til next week...........................good fishing!!!!!!

Sid,
I am very happy to hear about the progress you have made in your recovery period. I don't know if I ever told you but I have Multiple Sclerosis, which is an uncureable disease which attacks the bodies nervous system. The reason I am telling you this is not for pity or for people to feel sorry for me, I would like to know if you would pass information to your readers about a remarkable new drug which has just been approved and has 27,000 people currently using it. I have met people that couldn't walk, some were on total disability, and some just plain gave up that their was no hope. Well I am happy to say I have met these people and now they are walking without the aid of a cane or walker, the person who was on total disability wants to go to work ( she was in the testing phase of the drug before it came to market, she has taken it for 2 years). Their are at least 8 to 10 more people I have met with amazing stories that should give everyone with Multiple Sclerosis hope. I have just started taking the drug myself and I'm hoping for the best.
The drug is called Tysabri and it is made by a company named Biogen. More information is available at Tysabri.com.
I don't know how you feel about giving this type of information in your newsletter and I will understand if you don't, but I will be happy to answer anybodies questions about Tysabri if it is for them or someone they know who has MS.
That's enough about that, my lures are selling good and I will send you some of my newest creations. I can't think of the worm type you use all the time but I will send you some in Chartreuse Pepper, Watermelon Seed and Purple colors. If you have special colors you would like the tails Email me and I will make them up. Also if you would like to try some with eyes I will do that for you also, please let me know what I can do for you.
Thank You Sid, Your the Best. Ruth Ann says Hi.

Water Temp: 76-81
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Launched from Orwood and fished Indian Slough to Discovery Bay. Had numerous fish to 2 pounds cranking the weedlines with a bomber 6a - chart&blue. Fished Lido bay with wacky rigged purple sencos and caught quite a few small fish. Headed to Woodward but the ski boats put a damper on that but we did see two topless blondes which made up for not being able to fish. Had a hard time convincing my clients we needed to leave Woodward to search for clamer waters.LOL. Finished the day out around widow isalnd with sencos and crankbaits. Big fish of the day was 5lbs-2ozs on a senco.
City: LivermoreTips: Change colors and run the tides as the better fish for me are coming around low tide on the outside weed edges. Good luck and happy hooking...

Report: Good trip out of B&W. Launched at 6:30 and had a 3.5 on the boat before 7am. Got one on a popper; man that is fun fishing watching the blowups! Finished with about 14 fish in the 6 hrs up to 4/4.5 range. A few dinks in there as well. The hot bait was a red sinko with flakes. We pulled about 15 pounds worth of bass in before we ran out of that color. They also liked the green with blue flakes. All wacky rigged and weightless.
City: RocklinTips: Toss close to the tulees.

Water Temp: 75-80
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Dad and I went on our annual summertime 2-day trip to CL in celebration of his birthday, and we had a great time as usual. On Saturday, our high hopes for a killer frog/Spook bite failed to materialize, so we meandered down to the narrows to check out some good ledges and breaks I like to fish. Good idea! We found the fish hungry for Hula Grubs fished on a 3/8oz. football head and a DD22 in the black spatterback pattern. Depth was the key all weekend for us. Most fish were caught between 15' and 35' of water. Big fish on Saturday was just a shade under 8 (7-13), with another pushing 6, another over 5 and numerous 3-4 lb. fish. All but one of the best fish came on the Hula Grub (wacky Senko for that one). Best 5 would have been over 25#... great day! Sunday was just as fun, but without the same quality. We stayed south all day and caught all but 2 of our fish on the Hula Grub, and again the deep water bite prevailed. Our best 5 on Sunday were probably in the 16-17# range. What a great way to spend a weekend with your dad, and what an incredible lake!
City: Elk GroveTips: Get off the bank! Find those deep ledges and breaks and work them thoroughly with your best deep structure baits. As stated, the 3/8 oz. Hula Grub was great for us, primarily the cinnamon/purple flake and watermelon/black flake patterns. We also caught fish on a wacky Senko, DD22, dropshot Roboworm and an LV500 rattlebait. Good luck!

Report: Got on the water at 8 and started fishing at 9. I got my first bite at 10 and lost it, about a 3 pound largemouth. About 1/2 hour later, I caught my first and only fish of the day, a 2 1/2 lb largemouth. I found lots of fish on the graph, but I could not get them to go- tough to run and gun at 5MPH.

Water Temp: 80
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Just before dusk the bass were chasing bait on the flats in about 6-8 feet of water. an hour later they were tight to the bank.
A 7.3 took a dark chatterbait from under a dock and ripped line out then jumped around for 5 minutes like he was in a hot skillet. That was the hardest fightin bass I have ever caught. He fought harder than fish I have caught that were a few pounds larger. Picked up two 5's and a couple of 3's. 9 bass total.
All of them seemed downright ticked off about being psyched out by fake food. I lost one at the boat that might have been my biggest fish ever. All came on a chatterbait. They didnt want plastic or topwaters tonight.
City: auburnTips: chatterbaits real slow worked for me tonight

Report: Get the dogs out of the ponds. It's becoming difficult to fish from shore because of them!
-
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Hello, i work for Shadow Cliffs. We aim to please our fishermen. Please post up what you would like to see improved or changed.
We already know about the water levels and the weeds. We can not raise the water levels, due to a water shortage with zone 7 and cemex. They will not pump as much water as usual, or at all. leaving the lake and arroyo dryer then usual. If the conditions persist, the arroyo will be DRY next year.
City: PleasantonTips: Please flag a ranger down and talk to them, or stop at the kiosk and get the number for Tamie Andrews.

Water Temp: 80
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: The Basin Bassmasters out of Loomis did their two back to back tournaments on Friday night and Saturday morning. The first weigh in big bag was over 21 lbs. The second weigh in was almost the same. Most of the anglers got there fish on jigs in black/blue, crankin, large brush hogs in June Bug, pop r's and frogs.
City: RocklinTips: Look for deep water next to the banks was the big clue for that night.
-
Water Temp: 75-78
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: We started nice and early excited about some top water bites. A typical day at Clear Lake as we got on the water it was 20plus mph winds and the lake was swelling like the San francisco bay. We staeyd in the south and fished pockets just off the main lake protected from the wind. We threw several top water baits and only had 2 hit the frog. I switched to a fluke and missed one and caught 2 quickly on a windy point. We moved to the next pocket sure we would locate a top water bite and nada they just werent interested for us today. We moved to the nearest windy point and missed 2 and caught 2 deep on jigs. I was missing alot of fish on the brush hawg as they would just kinda swim with it and never gulp it down as many times they took half the hawg or jigs tails with them. We started to move around a bit more but the wind was nasty and the lake was rough we kept cathing 1-2 fish in a area and missing some short biters as well. We did catch a few crank bait fish as well in a shad color. Fish seemed to be on points and or ledges and were all under 3lbs the frog bite never happend on this day. We did catch a fair number of fish but it was slow over all and no big fish at all. We spoke toseveral other boats and none of them caught even 1 quality fish on this day.
I would say these fish are feeding at night now and your window for better fish will happen at night.
City: elk groveTips: Just go have fun dont expect a big one right now just because its clear lake. Fish deep for bites with jigs and smaller plastics. Points and edges of weed flats as well as ledges. Crank if you need to get bit!
