      Water Temp: 61

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Pretty solid day. Good reaction in the morning and good jig and plastic bite later. The voodoo is really starting to produce now. Black first thing and bluegill later now that the bluegill are getting active. Also, a black blue jig work in a hopping motion is good.In the afternoon any senko that has a green tint to it will do and a green pumpkin jig is a good choice. Thanks to Chris and Amy at fishin magician tackle for the proto type Majestic Jig I have been using. There is nothing out there like it. The bass have been tearing it up and what an awesome bed bait. They are finally ready to start taking orders on it. Sad for me, but good for them.

Tips: Dark colors in the morning and natural in the afternoon. Fish are really starting to feed on flats. The jigs tight to structure have been doing well. Call Chris or Amy at 530-642-9050 if you are interested in placing an order.

      Water Temp: no idea

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished Saturday out of Holland. When I saw the boat ramp full at 7:30 AM should have gone back home. Fished until 1:00 PM and had good tides throughout. Fishing was slow for my son and I. We managed to catch 10 fish on 11 bites. Best two were 7 and 4...lost one in the 5+ range right at the boat also. All others were 1.5 - 2 lb variety. I have never seen so many boats on the water in April!!! The problem wasn't the number as much as the number who have no clue how to operate a boat...
      City: Brentwood

Tips: All fish came on jig or drop shot. Best two were jig fish. I fished deep rock with sparse grass on it and chose areas I've never fished. Brown/Green combination worked once again as did MMIII on the drop shot. There will be better days and were it not for the non-bass guys/gals out there it would have been a nice day.

      Water Temp: 60+

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: I fished a jig almost all day. Hooked a 10+ early but he spit my jig on his 2nd jump. I think my dad hooked the same fish a few hours later, but he broke off at the boat. It was definatyely a HUGE fish, possibly 2 HUGE fish? If anyone catches one with a brown jig "Lip Ring" let us know... I also caught my 1st bedding bass after letting the jig just sit in the bed.

Ended up catching a 5, plus 7 more to 2 pounds... Very hot day, stay hydrated.
      City: Somerset

Tips: Jigs with a creature trailer or craw worked best for us. Caught several small one's on top-water early.

Report: Starting April 8, all boats entering Lake County for Clear Lake must be inspected and receive a sticker. If caught on lake with no sticker = ticket with $100 fine, etc.

What to do? Make sure your boat and engine is DRY, DRY and VERY DRY (no water in bilge or livewell). Make sure your livewell is VERY DRY AND CLEAN (no dirt, sand or fishscale). Make sure your drain plug is out. Tilt your engine at least two times to drain out all water, repeat while you re on the trip. If they find a drop of water inside the boat, you will be directed to decom station where they spray hot water on trailer, boat, and livewell.

      Water Temp: 62-64

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Got on the water at 10am, air temp in the 70's. Went to the south end where we saw a ton of boats and tubers. Tried everything in my tackle box, nada. Tried spinners, cranks, worms. By 12 noon, it was in the 90's. Sweatin with the oldies by now. We heard from a few that they caught some, but it was earlier in the morning. Left the water at 2pm. Weather was too hot and the bass weren't biting anyways.
      City: San Jose

Tips: Get there when the gate opens and the temp is milder. You'll also avoid the wake boarders and their cranked up rap music on the water. Watch out for an aluminum Lowe boat. They cut in front of the line while everyone was waiting patiently and almost took out some kids at the ramp.

      Water Temp: 59-61

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: ONe of the best weather weekends in a long time around and the fishing was at it's best. Jason and I went out Saturday and Sunday morning before the Weekend boaters came out. Started at first sun light and found large rock in 5-20 ft.
The split shot with a wacky worm got all our small fish, wippin got a few and top water had four blow ups. Got the Capt Jack's Jigs out and the fish got bigger and meaner. Tubes did very well.
Look for the deeper water near submerged rocks (big and small gravel), sand with rock. Ues green-pumkin and Brown/Purple. No bits on Crankin.
      City: Rocklin

Tips: drive around the North Fork and South. The water is warming up and the fish will be on some beds soon, found a few beds but no fish.

      Water Temp: 63.3

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Main engine was out of commision, but the trolling motor was working fine so what the heck,
went fishing. Went to the bank accross from the
ramp starting at the dam corner and fished the
entire bank (underneath the RC planes). Tried everything white buzz bait, jigs (Hemphill Special, black and blue), white chatter, drop shot MMIII, white and chartruese spinner with gold blades, watermelon and red flake senko, split-shot green 3x worm, C-rigged black lizard, June bug, Brush hogs. Nuthin!. Finally picked up a 1#r on a brown jig with a black trailer in the late afternoon. My worst trip to Los Banos.
      City: Monterey

Tips: At the ramp spoke to someone who picked up 5 on senkos. Perhaps it would have been better had I been able to motor to the back of the lake and find clearer, warmer water.

Very hot, bring lots of water.

      Water Temp: warmer

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Started where I left off from last week. Same patterns are working, slow and slower.Changed to the windy side of the lake. Hitting all stick-ups that are starting to grow above the water.
      City: Richmond

Tips: I used all my senkos. They ate the green, black, purple ones.Biggest was a 6#er full of eggs.Threw her back. Landed 4 more males about 3#'s. I kept 2 for the grill, nice.

      Water Temp: 60,s

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Fished Fri. and Sat.half days. Fishing was O.K. Caught about 10 but spent a lot of time working a couple of big cruisers and fixing my 10 year olds backlashes. Really only fished for about 6 hrs. combined both days. Water was very clear. 10# or lighter flourocarbon would be recommended. Caught fish on darthead reapers and dropshot 4 inch robo,s. Son caught a beautiful 4 pound smallmouth. Found a bush in about 12 feet of water off a point in the main body that was holding 2 monsters that were waiting to spawn. I would guess them both to be between 10 and 12 pounds. They just weren't quite ready to move in. A few males had beds nearby but just a day or two away from these big females coming in.

Report: Hooked up with Steve my ABA partner from 2002 and strapped it on for Shasta with Vince Harris

Tips: Don't make a bet with someone on reaction. Lucky for us they had nothin else after 7am. Males are on beds and short striking. Fish deeper for the staging females.

      Water Temp: 57-61

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished 4/11 and 4/12 on Sonoma. Took out Rus Snyders on 4/11 and experienced a fantastic bite on big fish in the morning fishing about 20' of water off a creek channel. We hooked multiple fish from 3-7lbs, but for whatever reason lost several of the larger ones right at the boat. Our best 5 WOULD have gone 25+lbs had we landed them all. The rest of the day was scratch fishing for mostly smaller fish w/ a couple decent ones. Took out Rick from Lake Mary, FL on 4/12. The water temp was up and my big fish school had disappeared. We poked around all day and landed about 15 fish to 3 1/2lbs. Just couldnt locate the quality bites we wanted. Most fish came out of 15-20', with only a few small fish shallow. We caught them on t-rigged and carolina rigged brush hogs, a couple on dropshotted senkos, and two ripping a Staysee.
      City: Novato

Tips: The fish have yet to push up in force. The better fish seem to be just about ready, but still holding deeper. From what we saw and experienced, the majority of shallow fish are small males.

      Water Temp: 70 deg

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Nothing to report today. I just got off from work and decided to run the Custom Valco Bass Boat "BASSBUSTER1" to back end of 14 Mile Slough to get away from the week end crazyness (it was an awesome main channel run though). With extreme low tide back there, high blue skies, and just a cuople hours of day light left I mainly was just "Chuckin' & winding" a spinner bait. I did try plastics and jigs too.

My main reason for the post is to say "Thank you" to the two guys in the bass boat next to me I shared the water with. If they weren't there to power through the floating weed mats I may have been night fishing for a while.

Once again thanks for your support today.
      City: Stockton

Tips: When fishing in areas with alot of floating mats and is a little breezy look behind you once in awhile to be sure you are not getting block in. :-P
