      Water Temp: 51-53

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: These last few weeks have been the first time I've fished since October,(school and work), and I must say it's a warm welcoming. I have already (off the bank) caught over 60 bass, and easily a limit every time I go. I've been wanting to take my kick-boat out but weather and time availability have not permitted. Just last night I had an 8-03 and the night before a 6-12 on a jig. I can't complain. When I want to just get bit I've been going to a LC misty shad pointer 100, or a texas rigged beaver. Both have been producing a lot of fish in the 2 1/2 to 4 pound range and the jig is just my money bait. I prefer to fish it over anything. NO SWIMBAIT FISH LIKE LAST YEAR BOYS!!! Two days ago I drove down to Limit Out to pay Bob a visit and spent $60 on two swimbaits, but yet, haven't even had a follower. Oh well, we'll see what happens in about another 6 or 8 degrees. Hey Ripa!!! If you're out there and you read this, call me man! It's been to long and I got some stories for ya! Anybody who wants to go fishing e-mail me or call me at 349-2511. See ya on the lake!
      City: Upper Lake

Tips: Rip when the sun is high (Early afternoon) and throw a jig as the sun sinks to the west and hold on. I'm sure everybody already knows what's up, but I haven't been out and it's the beginning of a new season for me.

      Report: Hi Fellow Anglers,
I am taking my Dad to Clear Lake for his very first time the weekend of the 21st. He is from NM and mainly fishes Amistad. We are both excited about the prospect of catching some pre-spawn and spawning bass. Any tips or places to hit would be really appreciated. We will be the guys in the blue Gambler Intimidator.
      Thanks in advance!

Report: Boy, haven't posted a report for weeks and seems nothing has changed. The 3 previous "reports" should be a fine example for our young kids reading the "reports" section for informative reports. Too bad! Anyway, since my surgeon doesn't bass fish nor read wb.com, I can say that a friend took me to Clear Lake yesterday afternoon, three week after my hip-replacement. I am not recommending this bad behavior, but I just HAD TO GO! Seriously, he has a big boat and the lake wasn't going to be rough, so I slowly and carefully attempted to bass fish - not wanting to catch one too big, of course, to possibly cause injury! We fished out of Red Bud - about 5 or 6 hours and had fun. We landed 9 out of about 15-16 bites. We each had one over 4 lbs and several 3 to 3 1/2 pounders - a nice limit pushing 17 lbs. I heard the bite had slowed some and that seemed reasonable to me since the weather was gradually cooling. I quit about dusk while he fished a bit more, landing the 9th bass. Great to be back and I still remember how to set the hook!
      City: Yuba City

Tips: The jig bite was good for me with the "Hemphill" special - brown/orange Rodstrainer jig with #180 Yamamoto grub - I got the 4 1/4 on that. I did rip one with the hitch #128 Pointer Minnow. My friend used jigs some but mostly fished Senkos I think. His 4 pounder was on a swimbait however. We did get a late afternoon bite but several were quite deep, 20-30 feet. Mostly bare pressure bites except one or two that nailed the bait. The rip and swimbait bite was pretty slow for us but jigs, Senkos, worms, were ok. Dark colors. I am looking forward to guiding again in about 2 to 3 week!!

      Water Temp: 55-60

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Metered a few fish on points but couldn't get anything to bite on drop shots or texas rig worms. Water was clear, with some surface debris, all over the lake. Around 3:30 I went all the way to the back of Cow Cove and found fish in 3-5 feet of 60 degree water. As soon as you put a bait in from of them they went straight for the brush. Tried soft plastic jerk baits and Senko's with no success. I give this about another week until the water warms up a little more, then things should pick up. Saw several other bass boats also not catching fish.

Tips: Look in the backs of the coves for the warmest water. Boat inspections are easy but be sure to have everything clean and dry. Be careful driving the lake. Still some surface debris, including some big logs.

Report: Headed south out of Scottys. Plan was to just throw a few Black 6" Ribbon tail worms at the bank, rocks, snags etc. Figured on a few easy "Squawfish" and proceeded to find several on sandy flats near deeper rip rap. Several fish over 4lbs. THEN.... WHAM.. Striper! Boated 2 in 15 mins, figure they were together, as that was the only 2. Bothfish were males in the 3lb range. Released them both. Hit a few more spots fishing a similiar pattern, but Nothing! Good to see a few are already up this way. Waiting now.
      City: Chico

Tips: None realy. The fish I did catch were in 6 to 8 feet of water in the top of a rip/rap hole just below a sand bar. GET BIT!!!

Report: Luanched the Custom Valco Bass Boat "BASSBUSTER1" out of ladd's and ran it to the back of 14 Mile Slough behind LVW Marina. I started with plastics and jigs. When the wind came up I switched to cranks and spinnerbaits. Today was a nice day to be on the water. 7.1, 4.5, 3.2, 2.4, and 1.5 for a 18.7 lb. five fish limit.
      City: Stockton

Tips: Don't be a afraid to stay in the wind. Set the trolling motor on high and go for it. I spotted feeding bass breaking the surface on the windy banks. Have fun out there and keep the lines tight. :-)

      Water Temp: 46-55

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished 3/15 to 3/17 from Red Bud to Shag Rock, got a fish or 2 every stop but it would take a few hrs to do it at each stop, I should have gone up to Lake Port, I heard the Ford turney had some very good weights up there and some guys did not do well weight wise but caught lots of fish.
We got about 9-11 fish each day to 3.5 lbs, I lost a fish that went 6-7 lbs, I knew I should have replaced my line, I replaced it 5 months ago and that is not that old but I knew that it must have been old from the start becuase when I would tie a knot and test it it would break easily, after I snapped off a 3.5 lb, I should have put the jig rod down until I put new line but I did not and it cost me a nice fish.
      City: San Jose

Tips: Drop shot Zoom watermelon candy swamp crawlers for numbers, shaky heads with zoom watermelon red flake Dead Ringers. We caught fish from 4 feet to 22 feet so they are all over the place. We caught them in rocky areas, flats and docks. I did get one Senko fish watermelon candy also. My Brother got one fish on 5 inch curly tail worm black. The 6-7 lber I lost at the boat was on the dead ringer. One more tip, if you think your line is bad, change it don't take a chance, I lost a DD at Coyote Lake and this fish also, the DD I lost was after buying line at Wall Mart, the bad line I had on at Clear Lake I got at a very well known tackle shop that I will not mention but I will be going there in a few days to tell my friend he is selling old brittle line on his spools on the wall, yes I had them put the line on profesionally and it was old and brittle.
