Berryessa Lake

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Don't have a report, just bring someone new to bass fishing on my boat tomorrow. Will probably stay in the narrows as there's supposed to be wind. Any tips? I need advice badly. Have only been out once this year and no luck!

Water Temp: 54
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Come on guys if your not bringing 20+ pounds right now your fired.
Tips: Get in there and beat em up now before the pros tear into them next week.
4-5 foot deep tules, black and blue jigs. -
Water Temp: 54
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: First fish of the year came on a black/blue jig up tight to the rock bank.It was a keeper. The 2nd fish came hours later on the plastic. It was a 3.8 pound fish. A very fine fish indeed. I also talked to a couple guys. They also caught a couple to 3 pounds and I saw a guys get a 1 pounder on a crankbait. FINALLY! After 4 trips last month getting skunked,I got 2 and that is great!
Tips: The fish are bitting so I advise going often now.

Clear Lake
-
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: doc sounds like a good day, what were you using? Where were you fishing?
-
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Started off slow and low and did not get much better, picked up first fish around 11 am around tule island on a crank bait, second fish came about 1 in state park, same crank bait. We missed a few on worms and had no other luck with anything, still a little slow, was probebly fishing to fast still.
City: Grass ValleyTips: Water is still warming, will be better every day if this weather holds.

Contra Loma Lake
-
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Hey Kyle, my son and I will be there Sunday. Most likely by 6:00. It may be tough as this post front condition may make it tougher than normal, but I have a great spot that usually produces at sunrise on the west side. I'm thinking of tubing the lake but not sure yet. Let me know how you did today. I may hit the lake tonite if the wind dies down. I have caught a few monster stripers on BIG swimbaits at this time of year after dark.
City: AntiochTips: Post front may make drop shotting or shakey heads the ticket just off shore. Jerkbaits with long pauses may kill 'em also if they decide to feed on the shad...I've been seeing a lot of shad dimpling the surface lately.

Eastman Lake
-
Water Temp: 49-51
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Very windy day and got worse as day went on. Caught a few 2 pounders on brown/purple and brown/melon jigs. A few bites were solid, but most were soft. Try 15 ft or deeper and lake has come up some, but water is still murky and watch out for debris.

Folsom Lake
-
Water Temp: 52-54
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Short day. Fished from 11am to 2pm and had about 8 bites between my brother and I. I landed two, a decent 2-lb spot and another hard-fighting 3.5-lb smallie. Fished main body and south fork in 10-20 ft . Wind was horrible after 1pm!
City: FolsomTips: As usual, use those spinnerbaits on windblown points!
-
Water Temp: 53
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Fished last wednesday from 7am to 2pm mostly in the main body a little in the north fork. I saw a lot of fish in the 20 foot range in main body flats. Only caught 7 fish but nice fats spots and 1 largemouth that went close to 4. All of my fish were caught in the flats in 19-22 feet of water and they were all on brown and purple jigs except 1 on a mm3 darthead.
City: rosevilleTips: fishing in the main body with jigs and dartheads has been working for me. once i find fish in certain depths they seem to be in that deep almost anywere in the main body.

Water Temp: ?
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Fished from 8am to 11:30. Water was stained. No bites until the sun popped through which was about 10:30am. Had 2 semi hook ups near the Northern most island, which I lost both on the way to the boat. Then at the Southern most island I landed a chunky 5lber from the tully line on a jig.
City: San JoseTips: none, was my first trip there.

Shadow Cliffs Lake
-
Water Temp: ?
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Tubed Arroyo with my brother from 9 am - 2 pm. Winds were about 10 mph and it was overcast. Water was cold. Tried a Rat-L-Trap deep, chartreuse spinnerbaits and a shakyhead near the shoreline. Caught 2 LMB flipping a brown and purple jig near breaks in the brush near the shoreline. My brother got one on a wacky rigged purple senko. Largest fish 2.5 lbs.
City: SFTips: Slower presentations worked the best. Jigs in dark colors. Respect your fellow anglers please...Catch and Release!

Berryessa Lake

Water Temp: 50-55
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Went here friday and started around 9am. A beautiful day, no need for gloves nor my insulated hat. Tried experimental fishing with the usual "no luck." Went to try to catch fish on the main body near skiers cove. In a 200 yd stretch I got about 6 bites and hooked only 3. Bites were in 12-30' on jigs. Took what I learned from this spot and applied that to my many stops up into the narrows. Over the next 4 hrs I jigged, dredged, fished wood, ripped, threw shakey heads, and even trolled for zero bites! I'm sure the weather change didn't help, but the rest was on me. Knowing nothing else, I went back to where I orignally caught fish and got 4 more bites and 3 fish.
Felt a little better about myself and called it a day at 4:30 as it was becoming windier with more clouds. Even tho the weather was kinda wacky after 2pm, what a nice day. 6 fish with one dink. largest was a 2#spot. Found some water as warm as 55, but it didn't seem like the fish were aggressive at all.
City: orindaTips: I'm sure someone did well today, but I only got bit in one area. Most of the bites were pressure bites. I boated one fish from 40,', but the rest were in the 12-30' range. I thought the fish would be a little shallower, not so.

Water Temp: 56.2
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Wow! Water and visibility are significantly better than last weekend! Unfortuntately, at least for me the bite wasn't :(. Fished White Slough for about 4 hours and only caught one small (12 inches) striper. Moved over to Disappointment slough and had some good strikes but failed to set the hook. Had to leave at 1pm right when things are picking up.
City: Sacramento -
Water Temp: 55-59
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Fished tules with rock with jig one fish 9.2 stuck with it for an hour with no more takers switched up to a swim bait in first 20' of a few good flats and had several short strikes. gave them a white chatter bait and they ate it.Fish on chatter were from 2# to 4# 5 total.Had a decent bag but not like the ones Cooch has been gettin! One more week of this weather and it will be wide open.
City: StocktonTips: Fish in 8-12 ft. until it warms up a little then move shallow and cross your fingers.I think the ones I got shallow were because of cloud cover.
-
Water Temp: 52-55
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Fished around Franks for a few hours today. Third cast I had a 4 lb Bass nail my red/black jig with a Sweet Beaver trailer. Tried cranking with Crawdad lipless bait and picked up a smaller Bass and missed another. Picked up a 3 1/2 lb fish later in the morning fishing a Mission Fish Minnow. Also had a nice Swirl on a Pearl Fluke fishing the tulle's. All fish were in fairly shallow water.
City: LockefordTips: Sounds like a broken record, find the clearer water. If your not getting bit, keep changing it up.

Folsom Lake

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Loyd, you are posting very good luck every time you go out on Folsom. Nice job! With so many striking out right now (me included), could you say WHERE you are catching fish up shallow? Main body, N S E or W shore, any clue appreciated! Thanks. (Loyd I sent you a PM a week ago but got no reply)
Webmaster, I KNOW this isn't a report but on behalf of the Folsom Winter Banana Team I'm hoping to get a hint here before my wife takes away my bassboat. Thx.
