      Water Temp: mid 50's

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Most bass are being caught at about 10-15ft on berserk jigs or a brush hog. Some are hitting surface lures, ripbaits, and crankbaits. Small ones are able to be caught on dropshotting. Some swimbait fish are out there. Bucks are moving in with a few females too. Its getting better, if you can get a 10lb limit with 5 fish you are doing pretty good. I caught some smallmouth upriver on a brown berserk jig, nothing big pound and a halfers.

Tips: Brown or brown/green jigs in about 15ft worked slowly or a bait that looks like a crawdad. Reaction baits near the shoreline. www.fishwrangler.net

      Water Temp: 53

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

      Report: Fished Afterbay this morning.
Very limited action on a picture perfect day. Thought the 4 days of warm weather would turn them on. Not quite yet. Threw grubs, senkos, worms and spinner baits. 3 fish total. Main lake is up about 20' since January 1. Still down 180'. Should turn on in a week or so.

      Water Temp: mid-upper 50's

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: past couple of weeks have been warmer, and i've gotten out a couple of times, but not for long periods. My last outing had a big strike on a white 1/2oz spinnerbait. I wasnt really aying attention because we hadnt gotten bit yet and i was looking for another spot to fish. Of course thats when a fish decided to hit the bait! My cousin that i never knew i had came fishing for the first time that day and i set him up with a wacky worm smoke w/purple senko and his bait was near mine and he got a strike by the same fish (im pretty sure) within 8 seconds. His drag was kinda loose and so it was making some noise and he set the hook and the fish kinda took a run. Somehow the fishy managed to throw the hook out and get away, it would have been a really nice first fish for my cousin, but he had a thrill with that strike! He will be coming back to CA from Mex. this summer and we're going to show him some topwater action!!!
      City: Santa Rosa

Tips: The fish are moving (if not already) into prespawn and maybe even spawn, but the water was a little too muddy to see if there were any shallow fish. By now probably there would be, but i would assume that most fish are in prespawn. you can try to get a reaction strike like i did or fish slow like my dad and cousin. Good Luck to all! Maybe you'll see me out there during Spring Break! haha... (i cant wait for it)

We moved to Spanish flat area on the way home and
got two more small fish using the same darted heads.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: I started fishing with my buddy on main body points near Pope Creek - water temp 55

Tips: If you are a finesse fisherman, try the wacky jig technique. Try some baits which imitate a crawdad.

      Water Temp: 53-55

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Great day with little wind. Fished Hog/Sycamore Sloughs and Potato Slough/Frank's Tract. Action still a little slow. We were fishing Sycamore and my fishing buddy was cranking a 1/2 oz Rat L Trap and caught a steelhead about 18 inches. First time that any of my fishing buddies caught a steelhead. Caught a few small bass. Fished Potato Slough/Frank's Tract and we caught 3 stripers around 19 inches (good eating size) and a couple of keeper size bass.
      City: Dixon

Tips: Look for the clearer water. Had several fish follow my lure back to the boat but no bite. We were cranking all day since my buddy had great success with cranks in his last 2 trips (black bass limits with a striper or two)

Report: Hey Kyle...yeah, I have seen you up at the lake. I also fish from a water skeeter "day tripper" from time to time, but do MUCH better from shore as I get most of my big bed fish between shore and brush piles in less than 2' of water. I will give you a shout next time I see you as I am there at least 4 days a week during the spawn. As for Alex and PJ...Sorry, I'm not sure I remember you guys...my apologies. There was another Tom that used to fish Loma that went into the Coast guard...could be him ar maybe I'm losing my memory as I get older. Anyway, if I do know you guys, please jog my memory as I am always willing to talk "Contra Loma". I been hammering this lake hard for 6 years and I think I finally have it figured out. Good luck to all and I will see you as I creep the shoreline.

Tips: Big jigs = big bass any time now!

      Water Temp: 51-53

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Well fished from 12 pm to 6 pm with no luck. Like the below post, use a handfull of baits - rip, crank, hula grub, shakeyhead, dropshot, c rig only three bites. Man, usually I can catch at least a few if not a lot more. Only fished deeper than 25ft in one spot, many that was my problem. I was hoping to find some shallow fish.

I fished lower and mid sections of south fork and north fork. Tried points and creeks.

I did not see anyone catch fish either. Talked to a guy that said they did good - glad to hear someone got into them. But all in all it was a beautiful day on the water.
      City: Elk Grove

Tips: Only ramps open Granite & Brown's Ravine. Heard 5 MPH lifted, but it was not. They said for sure 5 MPH lifted tomorrow. You still got to swing way wide while going around Peninsula.

As far as fishing tips, don't ask me I sure could not find them.

Report: Fish are still down, about 25'. Managed 4 keepers, and a couple of dinks. All carolina rig. All that I found were still at the mouth of creeks, non inside. I figure pretty soon, they'll be there. Temp is 54 on north (muddy) end, but drops to 51-52 in the main body.

Report: Drove by today. Launch ramp closed. Now they are estimating March 22 for the opening date.

My guess is to await decision at Santa Barbara Supes meeting on the 11th and to await Casitas decisions and guidance.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Tough bite today. Lost 1 basstrix...never saw her but felt some awesome head shake before she came unbuttoned. almost felt like a striper. Managed 1 Bass at the end of the day off the boat ramp of all places. Fish fell for a drop shot thrown straight out....it went about 4 lbs. Still couldn't manage any jig fish up in the tules, but I think we're getting very close.
      City: Antioch

Tips: Drop shot or shakey heads in watermelon/red flake should be the ticket for now. I thought jerk baits might do the job, but no takers.
