Water Temp: not too bad
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Fished Impoundment and South Lake for 3 hrs. today. The weather was warm and skies were blue. Fished for a while with a nice young man named Julian. Saw a good size (3lb)bass cruising around, but didn't catch it. Tossed soft plastics, spinner bait and Rapala floating minnow...no luck today, but had a great time. There are many "guppie" sized fry in the water right now. With this nice weather, it may be time to break out the tube...

Millerton Lake

Water Temp: 64-70
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Fished Friday hooked about 25 fish rain off and on all morning. Fished again on Sunday we boated 35 fish most in the half to one pound. Had about 12 in the two and a half pound range. Most all came on a dropshot green weeny. about 10 on a shad crank bait. 20 feet or less most along the left side starting at the 5 mile zone up river.
City: FresnoTips: Fish slow and be sure to hit in the deep coves along to edges. I target any thing that is the least bit different. Set your drop shot about 8 to 10 inches deep. Have a blast!!!

Nicasio Lake
-
Water Temp: ?
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: fished for an hour and a half at nicasio last week.
caught two nice bass on 'blades. first one hit right near shore coming out of some weeds and went about 2.5# (16"). the next one was a nice one of about 4.0# (18.5"). i tried to post pics, but this website won't accept because of the "file size," whatever the heck that means.
very aggressive fish. nice action and fight to 'em.
City: petalumaTips: catch and release, please. besides, there's so much crap in the water, it's probably a good thing you don't eat the fish here!

Shasta Lake
-
Water Temp: 59-63
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Fishing was really good caught a bunch of fish even caught one that we broke off at the boat he still had the worm and hook in him. caught a bunch up in the mud lines around willow trees. the fish were very active. fished for about 3 hours and still caught about 20-25 fish.
City: mount ShastaTips: you can pretty much use anything and still get bites.

Trinity Lake

Water Temp: 57
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: The 4th Jason Fisher Memorial Scholarship Tourney started out with clear skies and wind hard enough so ducks didn't even want to fly. 8 teams faced extreme conditions wind wise, and bite wise. Richards and Milovic lead the field with 4 blacks weighing over 21 lbs. They had LM lunker at 6.60. Sexton and Coyle finished 2nd with a great Shasta limit. Highlight of the day for me was 13 yr old Tyler Price's 3.24 Smallie Lunker. Which earned him Pizza money for a month. Tyler was fishing with his Grandad whose butt he soundly kicked. Way to go Tyler. Many thanks to the Prices and the Fishers who cooked up a tasty Barbeque after the event. All in all a fun day considering the conditions were much better for surfing than fishing.
City: WeavervilleTips: The next tourney will be June 9th, which is the day before the ABA tourney. For you ABA guys, it'll be a great chance to earn a few bucks while practicing, and at the same time support a good cause. There must be someone out there that can school Milovic and Richards a little. Sign-ups will start at 4:00 AM at the Trinity Center Ramp.

Anderson Lake
-
Water Temp: 62
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Tough conditions with wind that drove most off the lake early. I hung in long enough to boat 12 bass all under 2.5lbs. Stood on the trolling motor until the batt went then I called it. Boat control confined me to the coves and points. I caught most fish on points in 3-15 ft using C-rig creatures and drop shot cut-tail worms. I threw diamond shads and spinner in the mud lines but no takers.
City: Foster CityTips: Heavy wind often turns on the reaction bite but not for me today. If you throw plastics use heavier weights in order to have better line contol and to feel the bite. Fish the points in 3-15 ft using plastics in the presentation you have the most confidence in.

Water Temp: 63 Degrees
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: I got on the water around 6:45 a.m for the first time in 4 months. The wind was just starting to blow. I figured I would fish in sheltered areas, so I headed into Discovery Bay. Glad I did!! Had the best day ever. Best 5 weighed 26.52 lbs. First fish of the day was caught on frog (7.95 lbs). Moved down a few docks, and caught a 6.5. Next dock over caught another in the 6lb range. I kept catching fish in almost every dock (either senko or trick worm). Moved over to another bay, first dock I stop at, I through the trick worm right under a tree next to a dock. I see a large dark object move toward the bait, then it disapears. Within a second or two, my rod is bent in half, and the drag is squeeling. The fish takes the run under the boat, under the dock, and all I knew is it was big!!! Of course, my net is buried in the storage locker, so my only hope was to hang on, and hope she stays hooked up. After a few minutes of excitement, the biggest fish I have ever caught, or seen, was on her side right next to the boat. As I reached down to get her, she just rolled over slowly, and swam away. My hook was straight!! My guess was the fish was around 24" long and somewhere between 12 and 15 lbs. Her eyes were huge. Needless to say, the next fish I cught, a 5lber just seemed like a baby.
Hope to get a chance at her again tomorrow.
City: BrentwoodTips: Extremely windy. Caught fish on both calm and windy banks. Senkos, trick worms, and a frog.

Water Temp: 62-67
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Me and my stepson Chase started late at 4:30 PM to avoid the stiff north wind that had been blowing all day. We left out of Redbud and headed for some rock points around Konocti. Started catching fish right away dragging 4 inch watermelon tubes through the rocks from 2ft to 12ft of water. Most of these were in the 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 lb. range. Tried throwing 5 inch swimming Senko (watermelon/goldflake) around rocks with tules and began to catch better fish. Just before dark we moved Anderson Island area and went back to dragging tubes in 7 to 15ft. of water. Caught a couple in the 4lb range and then at 8:45 Chase hooked a big one. He caught it on some kind of spinner jig he rigged up in about 15ft. of water. He started screaming like a sissy la -la get the net! He fought the thing for what seemed like forever and when he finally landed it, it went 10.96 on the scales. It was the biggest bass he's ever caught and needles to say marked the end of a memorable day.
City: loma ricaTips: Had best luck fishing tubes and swimming senkos in 2 to 15ft. Fishing slowly worked best for us.

Water Temp: 59-62
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: I fished Saturday from about 8AM to 7PM. I found the bite to still be great and landed 33 fish with my best 5 coming in at just about 17lbs. I also had at least a dozen or so fish become unbuttoned so I really had consisten action all day. I used a variety of baits including the shakey head worm, drop shot, spinnerbait and LV 500, I took fish on every one of these baits with the majority of my fish being caught on the shakey head. The areas I fished included Buckingham Point, Glenhaven, Anderson Island, Shag Rock, Horseshoe and Soda Springs Islands. The only places I did not get bit were Shag and Soda Springs. The water is starting to stain up a bit with more and more algae blooms evident.
City: PetalumaTips: Fish your strength. Right now the fish are very active and respond well to a variety of presentations. Fish what you have the most confidence with and you should catch fish.

Folsom Lake
-
Water Temp: 63
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: I had 2 clients out early and started on the south side of the penninsula. Caught 2 on rip baits,(Lucky Craft Stacee). Moved up the south fork and picked up another 8 to 10 up to 2 pounds on Carolina rigged Robo worms in Arons Magic. Most fish were in 10 feet. Wind got bad with 3 to 4 foot swells in the main body.
City: SacramentoTips: Move around a lot if you do not get bit and try diffrent baits. Start to look for post Spawners.
-
Water Temp: ?
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Early swimbaits , one bite, no hook up, main body. Couple limits on jig, dropshot, chatterbait. Left went up river, every place I stopped I took fish, same baits. All fish were just keepers. No front depht finder right now so didn't explore post spawners.
City: sacTips: Left at 11:00 wind was terrible in main body. Right now fish seem to be every hwere. I'm going to toss my log book, this global warming thing is making it whacko.

Water Temp: N/A
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: got here at 3:30 and fished the land until closing. Hit my spots and caught 14 dinks. Around 6:30 I started to stick some nicer fish (1-2#.) After, caught a 3#, 3.5#, and a 5#. When I was reeling in the 3 a 10+ came and popped him. The 10+ was on a bed. I tried to work her but gave up after 30 min. 20+ fish including dinks. Great day!!!!
City: PinoleTips: All fish caught finesse fishing. Threw my SPRO swimbait a lot. Many followers, but no takers. Fish were holding in shallow water (1-4ft) all on beds or near structure. Be patitent 2-5 min casts. polarized glasses helped to locate structures despite algae bloom.

McClure Lake
-
Water Temp: 63-65
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Fished on Saturday from 6AM to 2PM. Fought the wind all day and ended up catching some nice fish. No reaction fish. Caught them all on soft plastics and worked them slow. Stayed in the south end of the lake on the main body.
City: AtwaterTips: Soft plastics in 4 and 6 inch that mimic baitfish. The water is incredibly clear right now, you can see bottom in 20+ feet.

Quarry Lakes
-
Water Temp: 63
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: On the water at 8am. Weather was sunny, light breeze. No bites on senkos, lizards, or spinners. Gail force winds hit the lake at about 11am. Took about an hour to troll/row back to the dock. Maybe the rains the day before affected the bite. Saw bank fishermen landing trout. Bass were on lockdown.
City: Union CityTips: Do your boat/trailer maintanance during the off season, not the morning of the fishing trip. Should have been on the water at 6am. Not sure if it would of helped, but you never know.

San Justo Lake
-
Water Temp: 61
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: John's getting really good at finding the productive pattern...did it again today and boated seven nice bass. He found the fish had moved off the banks and were out in 12 to 15 feet depths, vulnerable to slow-moving craw imitations fished uphill. I made way too many casts with the buzzbait and only brought in one 2 lb'er to the boat on the blades. Tried several other presentations without success, but none was the pattern John had found.
City: MontereyTips: Try different types of banks (rock, mud, tules, etc), different depths, different retrieve directions (uphill, downhill, parallel to the breaks, etc) and different retrieve speeds until you find what's working. San Justo's bass are getting a lot of pressure these days and are seeing lots of lures...it's a challenge to get past their becoming conditioned to the common presentations. Experiment...experiment...experiment.

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: On Saturday the Sonora Bass Anglers launched out of South Shore at 5:35 am. 19 teams competed. There were seven limits caught, nobody blanked. The fishing was tough to say the least for most of us. Fourth place was just over 10 pounds for 7 fish. 3rd place had over 15 lbs, they were throwing lipless crankbaits on the main lake. 2nd place with 21 lbs, caught them on Senkos across from the launch ramp. The winners, with over 22 lbs (6 fish), caught them on Senkos in Black Creek, among a few other places. Congratulations to Larry and Mike Freeman, a father/son team, for an impressive win.
City: Sonora, CATips: At times the wind was 20 mph. Fishing was very tough. You had to get your fish early before all the wind and wakeboarders ruined the lake. There was a wakeboard tournament the same day. No bedfish were caught or seen. Saw lots of giants just cruising around. Senkos seemed to be the most popular bait of the day. Good Luck.
