Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: On Saturday the Sonora Bass Anglers launched out of South Shore at 5:35 am. 19 teams competed. There were seven limits caught, nobody blanked. The fishing was tough to say the least for most of us. Fourth place was just over 10 pounds for 7 fish. 3rd place had over 15 lbs, they were throwing lipless crankbaits on the main lake. 2nd place with 21 lbs, caught them on Senkos across from the launch ramp. The winners, with over 22 lbs (6 fish), caught them on Senkos in Black Creek, among a few other places. Congratulations to Larry and Mike Freeman, a father/son team, for an impressive win.
City: Sonora, CATips: At times the wind was 20 mph. Fishing was very tough. You had to get your fish early before all the wind and wakeboarders ruined the lake. There was a wakeboard tournament the same day. No bedfish were caught or seen. Saw lots of giants just cruising around. Senkos seemed to be the most popular bait of the day. Good Luck.

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Just like greedy sports agents in football, etc., the amount of tourney circuits have ruined this sport. You cannot possibly tell me that bed fishing in crystal clear water during the heart of the spawn is good for "our" fishery. Thanks for pulling 20-30 bed fish off of the stumps, sticking your 5 best in your livewell, and driving them to your weigh-in hours later. I am sure that is great for "our" fishery!

Report: Water color from clear to stained, temps vary across the lake depending on clarity. No matter since they bit everything today. Shallow to deep, cranks, plastics... not a great bite just basically junk fishing all over. Ended the day with 3' waves. 25 or 26 fish, 5 best weighing about 14#.
City: VandenbergTips: Go fishing. You'll catch more at Cachuma than at your computer:)

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Headed out late wed morn and decided on throwing the big bait all day. Stuck five over three and a 4 at my first stop. The fish were very agressive and looked like post spawners. Moved around and continued sticking decent fish in all the likely areas. As the tide fell the fish got bigger. I started runnin and gunnin all over the south snd south central delta concentrating on deep (6-12ft)grass beds near spawning flats. By far the best bite I've ever been on. 25-30 fish mostly 3's and 4's all eating on top or while waking just below the surface. Best fish went 4.3, 5.13, 7.2, 7.3, and 9.8 for 33lbs 13oz...WOW! and these were the spawned out weights, the head on the 9 was simply ginormous,, probably would have been over 12 a week earlier... Sat fished the AC as an AM w big expectations. cloud cover, light rain and wind, my pro wanted to throw a spook and I already knew I only needed one bait. This was going to be an all out slug fest and we were in it to win it. Well, we ran his and my best water and it was a very humbeling day. I got fish but not nearly the size I expected. Weighed in just under 15 and the top ten weights were all over 25lbs. Ouch! My day 2 pro had a decent bag, sitting just out of the money, and told me to come prepared for finesse stuff, 10lb line a spinning rod. As much as I hate doing it, I started sissy fishing on day two and even put the first three rats in the boat. After a while my pro decides plan A isn't paying off and we make a move... more sissy fishing, but it looks like good swimbait water. OK just a couple casts... I stick three in a row. Hmmmm.. the little swimbait demon is calling me again. Make another move and it turns out he's fishing the same spot where I stuck good swimbait fish a few weeks ago. I'm starting to get exited as the water continues to fall and conditions are looking right. Then the unthinkable, may backup bait, to my backup, in my favorite color is forced into temporary retirment pending at home repairs. But I have the same bait in another color which I've never used....fearing change, I tie on the new color and as we make our first pass down a bank I watch a toad roll on it. "Get the net, she's an 8" I yell as I set the hook,, in the net she goes and high fives.. Back to work I go and stick a 4 1/2, then a 3,, nice. Turns out most struggled and we weigh about 21 lbs. My pro's in the money and I've got big AM fish w an 8.66,,, Not! The next AM beats me by .05 lbs and takes the money.

Report: Fished around Orwood Tract on the high tide. Threw a Shellcracker near weedy areas. Caught 9 bass before the tide dropped and the weed were to exposed. Biggest around 6lbs the rest of the fish would go 3-4lbs.
City: FairfieldTips: wake the surface early. stay near any cover around the riprap especially weeds.

Water Temp: 64-66
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: I couldn't resist the temptation to fish for a couple of hours today. Full moon...approaching storm clouds...spawn time...water temps in the mid 60s. Sounded perfect to me!
I was only on the water for 3 1/2 hours, from 7:00 am 'til 10:30 am.
Managed to boat 6 and lost 2 others. Average weight was around 2 lbs. All were caught on a crankbait. I threw a spinnerbait, Senko and tried a topwater bait for a few minutes, but no action.
