Report: My boat was out of the water for over a month and I couldn't wait to go fishing. The boat ran great and the bass were very willing. I took my 12yr. old nephew and my brother. I really wanted to teach my nephew some bass catching techniques. I started him throwing a Senko and within a short time he caught a 3. in Yorty behind the island off a tree. We then proceeded to move to the mouth of Cherry and my brother stuck two 2 lb. on a 6" Oxblood texas rig glass n brass. So far so good but no fish for me yet, so we found some more submeged trees and brush and I stuck a 3.5 on the same Oxblood worm. I tried to teach my nephew how to fish a worm up in the front of the boat with me and after a few misses and a few snags I decided to let him fish alone from the back with a 5" Green Pumpkin senko. Right off the bat he yells I got a fish and out of the water comes a 4lb that spit out the senko. I instructed my nephew that he has to set the hook before reeling next time. Boy did he catch on quick. He proceeds to catch 8 more bass 2 to 3 lbs while my brother nails a nice 4.5. I said enough of this and started throwing a senko myself and caught a 4 and many 2's and 3's. It was a great day for all of us catching 24 with best 5 going 18lbs. Now is the time to take a kid fishing. You will catch alot and make a kid happy.

      Water Temp: 59+

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Had a fun day with a newby bass fisherman. Showed him how to deal with spooky bedding bass and he caught about a dozen with the largest almost 4 lbs. Other than the nesting smallies, wood in the water seemed to be the key. There isn't much of it, and all the fish in any given area are really keying on it after the sun has been on the water for a while.

Tips: try the flats and TD minnows worked good but the bite was slow. white spinner baits didnt work.

Report: Fished a tournament on Sat the 28th of April in the central delta area and the winning weight was 35+ lbs all fish caught on beds. I agree with the last post about boat traffic and boat responsibility. Lots of boats, wave runners and jet skiers that just don't have a clue about boat safety. Made it down right dangerous to come in off the water even the marina's were difficult to get boat in safely. I wish I could say the same and not come back until the fall but I fish tournaments on Saturday's and don't have a choice but to show...Where's the Law when you need them?
      City: Sacramento

Tips: Be careful that's all I have to say and allow enough travel time to make it in to weight-ins safely...Good luck!

Water Temp: 62 up to 74

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: launched at rivers end marina in Byron around 7:30. Ran up past clifton caught a few with blades and plastic. then decided to take a ride and find discovery bay. I have only fished the Delta a few times so wanted to explore. Found it and saw some carp action off Indian slough. Cast the weed line just in front of the action and my friend Doug hooks a 6.5 #er. Headed into the dock areas and started a steady pick around the back side of the docks in the shade. Sat was a hot day 95 according to my outside temp gauge, and water temp was 74 around the docks. fished Senkos in black and red around the docks. Ended up with over 35 fish for the two of us. Several 3 and 4 pounders.
      City: SF

Tips: I do not think I will fish the Delta any weekends between now and fall. To many drunk wake boarders and boats that should be on the ocean flying around corners putting up huge wakes. Makes traveling very dangerous. Most of these people have no boating training or courtesy.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: On the water around 6:15 out of Clear Lakes Oaks and immediately started cranking along the walls and 2nd cast 4 pounder, 4 cast anoter 4 pounder, 3 or 4 cast last another solid 3 plus then I lost the crank bait tryied others with some results but just not the same. Color does matter!
used jerk baits as well with some results then switched up to jig and stayed with that patter all day with a total of at least 50 fish and I was off the water by 3. I feel it could have been a 100 fish day if I would have stayed until dark. Mainly worked south end and the narrows. A lot of success working that jig slow. Biggest fish of the day 5.03 with at least 20 4-5 pounds and the rest between 3 & 4 pounds with out 1 under 2.5 and only a hand full that went between 2.5 and 3. What a great fishery!

      Water Temp: 57-61

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: The water is starting to green up with this warm weather. Basin BassMasters was on the water for the third tournament launching out of RedBud. The weather was good so Dennie and I headed up north hitting the tule banks looking for some beds. Using drop shot, split shot and shakey jigs to most of our 16 + pounds. The winners five bass was 27 + pounds working the beds also. You will find that most of the bass are 2 pounds and you should not have any problem getting a limit. Crippe is eveywhere and so are the carp.
      City: Rocklin

Tips: work the beds and or stay back so you will not spook them in the clear waters

      Water Temp: ?

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Early start main body Brown's Ravine and peninsula swim baits, top water, chatter bait. No fish. Weather was clear slight wind, moved out of breezy arae to calm area tossed favorite "woochie jig" got a couple of rather fast limits of smallies and spots. moved into the breeze and action stopped.o ved upriver got another good spot on the jig. By 9:30 my bite turned off, but afterwards talking to a friend , he said his bite just started about then on c-rigs. I didn't go there. i kept throwing the big bait and chaterrbaits and once in a while the jig. Left earl, too many darn boats.
      City: sac

Tips: Blue bird skys, 9;00 was like glass. My fish said no. Darts, c-rigs, drop shot would have made adifference if I wante to increase my catch but I opted to search for beds and shallow activity. There was some but the major movement is not there yet.

Report: Camped out and fished all weekend. Friday was o.k., but it got progressively tougher as the days went on. Sunday, boated one. Like the previous report, soft finesse stuff. Real slow. I was using a split shot. Fished everywhere, mostly at McClure point area.

Tips: Stick to the rocks, we had to fish slow to catch anything...

      Water Temp: ~ 60 degrees

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Fished both 4/28 and 4/29.

On Saturday the bite was awesome in the morning (12 bites), died around 11:00 am (1 bites) and picked up slightly at 3:30 pm (3 bites).

Fished the Arroyo channel in the morning and it was on. Everything was in the shadows, deep in cover, close to the shore. Tried dropshotting around mid day, but didn't get a thing. I saw a tuber catch a fish around noon in the middle of Arroyo with a deep diving crank. That might be the solution to mid day fishing out here. I just went back to t-rigging dark Senkos and got the few hits I mentioned in deep cover in the shadows.

Unfortunately the hook was not finding the lip as I only landed a 2 pounder and a couple of dinks. One of those days.

Sunday was fantastic. Was in the Arroyo channel again and caught 6-7 fish from 8:00 am to noon. 4 pounder and a couple of 2+ pounders.

Like I said, I'm throwing deep in cover all day. If anyone has any other tips to catch fish with different lures and different situations out here, I'd like to hear them.
      City: San Mateo

Tips: Bite is unbelievable. Get in your tube and get out there. Best tubing lake in NoCal.

Report: Chris, thanks for the resonse.. there were carp in the area.. very large carp. but the water was very clear and I was able to also make out bass. many of them on beds. anyway i was able to get bites with a weighted senko fished off the bottom (should have stuck with this as it was producing) .. a couple of the fish surface pretty close to my boat and they were bass. not real large... i threw the weightless senko at them and they would move towards it but would not strike it.

Report: fished from 9am-1pm on the north end of the lake. 10 decent sized fish (best abt 3 lbs), mix of spots, lm and 1 sm bass. caught most on senko's. also tried new swim senko got a few tail bites but no takers. as the day warmed up I could see many bass surfacing to feed on something. there did not appear to be any baitfish. so all I can guess is that there must have been some kind of a insect hatch. any one else observe this? I could not get these fish to bite anything. not even a weightless senko.
