Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished 5 pm - 11:30 pm. Dink on first cast with shakey head + robo, and 2.5 pound at 10 pm on jig. That's it. Missed a few tailbiters. Fishing lousy because spawn probably over and lake was probably bombarded this weekend (day and nite). 3 days before full moon. Weather in middle of slow cooling trend. Went to Cat Cove at 11:00 pm and it was foggy! Parking lot was almost full when I arrived. When I pulled the boat out of the water at 11:30 pm, there was a 3 pound fish swimming right there at the launch ramp cement.
      City: Folsom

Tips: This lake is a runoff-only lake (no cold river water coming in) so it warms earlier than other lakes. So the spawn here can occur earlier than other lakes. Keep this in mind when reading reports for other lakes - usually a different situation at Amasnore. After tournaments, it might be a good idea to fish areas close to the launch ramp because that may be where they release their fish.

Report: Hey guys & gals. After really reading what I wrote, I realized this is a family site & that even though my 4 letter words were funked,(#$@!), they were still readable. Sorry 'bout that. I'll keep it clean in the future. P.S. That 20' ZXSKEETER w/ a 200 yamaha VMAX I might of suggested was mine.....NOT! that's my girlfriend of 5 years' boat. lol

Tips: marry the first girl you love, trust, and oh ya...has a bass boat. :)

Report: Just read Matt's previous report - don't know if I am always "dialed in" - but we were on Friday! Nice people and nice fishing!! We caught some above average size bass and topwater is happin'! This young couple (married 8 months) is into bass fishing!! He had the GPS going and she wrote everything down on a ledger including every bass we caught - all 22 of them! Our weight was fine - about 14 1/4 lbs for the five best. A 3-6 spot was the biggest, caught by hubby on a 4" morning dawn Robo worm. I had them using Storm Chug Bugs in the early morning - fishing shadows as long as we could. I really don't know why but I gave her the frog colored bug with a red bottom. They loved it!! A 2-13 largemouth blew up on it about 15 feet away from the boat - scared us to death - but she didn't panic and landed it! The bone color with an orange bottom worked too. About 10 am some quality bass went on a feed and we landed several in the 2 1/2 to 3 lb range - amazing! We found these quality bass on flats with deep water nearby. A morning dawn Robo worm was on the menu for the day - providing action most of the day with just a few dead spots. Smallies were back on Friday - we caught a lot of them. After I said my goodby's to my clients, I went back out, found some shade and took a nap. Started evening fishing with the chug bugs and caught 6, but nothing over 2 1/4 lbs. I did a bit of night fishing but found it to be slow. I only caught 3 around Big Island, using black Power worms.
      City: Yuba City

Tips: It seems we are in the spawn and post-spawn periods and the bite is a little unpredictable. This is a good time to try topwater - even during the day. Much of the downed timber is out of the water but there is enough in the water to make topwater a good bet - just fish the very end of the trees. Senkos are very good this time of year - darker colors early and late, and lighter colors mid-day. #240 is very good in the summer!

      Water Temp: 63-65

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: fished all day at the south end sunday catching lots of spots, some S.M. & only 3-4 L.M. Most fish were taken on crankbaits w/ a few on shaky heads. It didn't seem to matter what color. Even thew some in colors I never tried before. Seemed anything gaudy & bright worked. (orange, yellow bellies) Most smacked 'em on the mud line in about 5-8' in or over the emerging grass beds. Downside.... the best fish went for only about 1 & 3/4 lbs. I still had a great time out w/ girl by my side. She landed the biggest fish @ around 4-5 lbs. on trout smimbait, earlier in the day we saw a 5-7 pounder follow the same bait right up to the boat. Man that's a rush. CRAZY STORY TIME!!!! AS usual, saw turkeys on the hillsides while fishing a cove. BOOOM!, turkeys flushing everywhere. F!#@in' poachers i tell my girl. Threw in into high gear around the corner to find a 17-19 year old in camo walkin towards his boat. Tried to call authorities, but no reception. Motored in the cove & got close enough to spit on him w/out getting off the boat. After drillin' him, he finally admitted to me, it wasn't him, but his friend, who was still hiding up in the woods, who shot a turkey. He said it was legal & BLM. I said bull#*@$. I told him when i was scouting for quail, the only huntable land was in the far N.W. area. EVerything else was private or federal land. He was scared & nervous & apologized profusely for putting us & the community in danger & not knowing the law. Before leaving I yelled up the hill that "your friend;s a little chickens## for not coming down" & took off for pleasure cove marina (3 min. away) to call the authorities. Tell ya the truth, I was close to letting them go w/ just a verbal lickin', but then thought no way! I HATE poachers! They'll just do it again. Anyway, figuring i had a 200 horse skeeter compared to their 15 horse i thought i could report it & get back to find them escaping out to the main lake somewhere. No such luck. They were gone. And even after telling the police damn near exactly where we were & what kind of boat we were in (middle of lake where pleasure cove dumps you into the main lake where you can go east to the dam, three way split) and them telling me they had 2 police boats in the area they could send, no one came. Waste of a couple of hours & my f#@*ing tax dollars. Sorry, no happy endings here. Guess guys poaching game w/ hand cannons 50 yards from shore around occupied coves isn't priority.I apologize for ranting...guess I just needed to get it out. 23 fish for the boat w a mixed bag of spots s.m. & l.m. all c/r. I'm kinda new on the lake, can anybody give me a tip on finding the big ens'? All i could guess was deeper. I fished to 12' w/ cranks & 20' w/ shaky heads.

Tips: work mud lines of often overlooked muddied traffic areas if bite slows in coves. fish grassbeds for lots of small ones.(quantity over quality?)lol .

Report: Clearlake keeps kicking out fish. We picked up 16 bass. Considering there was an FLW Tournament on the lake Thur-Fri-Sat with 168 boats and there were a couple of local tournaments on Sunday I consider we did pretty good. There were times I could see and count a dozen boats fishing.

We caught a few fish on drop shots, a few on senkos, a few flipping jig with a trailer. A few in the canals, a few on docks and a few on rock. One fish was 4 lbs and a ounce, two or three that were in the 3 lb range and the rest were all small. I wanted something much larger and I landed everything I hooked I just didn't get any big bites. The fish all appeared to be prespawn and the bite was very light either the bait would stop falling or I would go to pick it up and there would be pressure and I'd set the hook.
      City: Benicia

Tips: Drop shot MMIII, white and black senkos, and flipping with jigs are all working. Very light bite, watch your line.

Report: Fished bass tournament this weekend. Started at Mexican Gulch at sun up and hooked an 8 pounder on a jig head with 6 inch green and black flake trailer on third cast. Pulled in a second 2.4 pounder 10 minutes later. After several other boats showed up we moved to Big Arm Creek just past the bouy line and hit a 5 pounder by the trees on a red and black spinner. Pulled in 8 other 1-3 pounders all over the lake mostly on 1/8 th oz jig heads with green or brown 6 inch trailers. Saw mostly males on the beds with females running 15-25 foot deep away from the beds. If we saw them, we caught them. Water was a little rough so had to work on areas that we had seen fish earlier in the week.
      City: Merced

Tips: Hit bottom with jigs and slow twitch back to the boat. Run back up from deeper water (20-40 ft.) to the beds for the big females to follow and bite.

Report: Same as yesterday however bite was not on jigs but wacky 3" cut-tails on drop shot rig. had to change because action had slowed, left earl;y at 11:00. Bitye shut off at 8:00 as weather changed a little bit. Tried swimbaits, chatterbaits(i fish) and jigs. No smallies today and only two limits of spots.
      City: sac

Tips: As soon as you see the bite is different cahnge right away for a better creel. Every day can be a different bite and you have to adapt to it. If you are fishing a tourny, go immediately for percentage, forget about other presentations. Bite will change throughout the day, so in your prefishing, try the percentage shots and while prefishing make many different presentations to see what is the deal.

Report: Got on the water at 7AM with Mike Salca owner of Butte Creek tackle and my 7 year old son Zachary. Light wind most of the day. (Whats new) Fished until 445pm. Fished with spider grubs and dart heas for awhile. I stayed with drop shot blue worms. In the PM we switched to senkos in the trout color and were fishing them wacky style weightless in trees or bushes that were in 15-25 feet water. We ended up with approx 50 fish. Two went over three pounds. We probably had 12.5 with our biggest five fish. My son Zack did not boat a fish. He was upset because the day before, we fished a farm pond near the buttes and he caught 24 fish with the biggest going 5 pounds. It is very interesting on a boat with a 7 year old for 10 hours. When I got home I had to hit the MGD to calm my nerves. I'll be needing to restock by drop shot weights and hooks. It seemed like he could not stay out of the rocks(Including the ones on the bank). He had a good time. He would fish every day if he could. Thank you Mike Salca for trip.
      City: Magalia

Tips: Hit the trees in deep water. Use senkos. Take a kid fishing when ever you can. It will be a merory they will never forget.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Me and my Dad Woke up at the crack o dawn and rented a boat. Tried scow canyon first and stopped at several places. There were fish jumping all over the damn place, one jumped about every minute. These fish couldn't have been trout, they didn't bite on anything. My gess would be that they were carp. ANyway, after trying scow canyon for trout and bass and getting only 2 bites, we moved on. Fished countless other places and finally stopped at Sandy Point. AT sandy point, we caught 7 trout in an hour and a half at around 2:00pm.Thats the thing i hate about san pablo, every time ive gone theres 1 or 2 overcrowded hot spots were u can catch a limit in an hour and the rest of the lake is shit where ur lucky to get 1 bite every hour.I dont know maybe we come here at the wrong time, this lake really frustrates me but it was fun once we started hitting the fish. The fish arent as big as they advertise, average was like 15 inches(which is not bad i geuss) but the damn website makes it sound like avergage fish is 3 pounds. All in all, a frustrating day at first, but turned out to be okay.
      City: San Francisco

Tips: This lake is definatley worth sum time and can be very productive, But Dont always come here, its hard to know how the fishing will be.DONT ALWAYS TRUST THE WEBSITE!

Report: hit the water today at 10:00 and fished until 6:00. only one fish for a days worth of work. i DID throw swimbaits a lot so that explains part of it but i threw shakey heads, dropshots, and chatterbaits too, with no takers - held back on the senko. finally got a 4-09 at 5:15 on a huddlebug. i was hoping for a lot better day since the temps are starting to rise and the full moon is this week.
      City: Orinda

Tips: i have none. i'm "looking" for some for this lake.
