      Water Temp: 57-60

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: I had a disappointing trip today with a client. Lots of bass boats - I wonder why? Very nice weather and sight fishing was possible and we caught a nice smallie doing that. We could have caught more doing that, but showing him the lake was the mission. All the others we caught were largemouth but nothing bigger than 2 1/2 lbs. Saw a few nests, but not many. Most only had the male left.
      City: Yuba City

Tips: We drop-shotted and split-shotted Robo worms and Basstrix flashtrix minnows. No jig bites.

Report: Saw many bass in the shallows. Mostly around rocky points. Caught several 2 pounders. The biggest was 7+ caught by my nephew Cainan. The photo is posted on the photo section. I look for the bass fishing to intensify once the lake warms about 4 more degrees.
      City: San Ramon

Tips: Try shallow cranks and spinnerbaits. Slow retrieve.

Report: THE BASS ARE ON FIRE!!!! I participated in the BASS Elite Series tournament this week. Haven't fished the lake in a few months. Big mamas everywhere looking for suiters. Some already on beds. Split shotting, drop shotting and ripping were my tickets to success. However, it was the ticket for everyone else as well. I went out just on the bubble after Friday's weigh in. Most of the pros caught their "biggons" on mostly swim baits and split shotted baits. The next warm spell may lock all the big mamas down on beds. Right now most are still fattening up. Get to the lake quick!!!!
      City: Ventura

      Tips: THROW EVERYTHING!!!!!

      Water Temp: 57-58

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: I took a boyfriend and girfriend to Clear Lake today to see if we could catch bass and stay out of the way of tournament boats at the same time! I think we did it! She had never bass fished before and she may well be in a tournament next year!! She missed her first bite and then landed the next 5 bites for around 14 lbs! Biggest was 4 lbs 3 oz (photo section). She really is a natural!! He also caught his personal best at 5 1/2 lbs. We had 19 bass total and a five best at 22 lbs. Fun day!
      City: Yuba City

Tips: I guess I better say no more because of the tournament! My lips are sealed!!!

Report: Started out towing a guy with a busted trolling motor back to the dock at 8:00. I think helping other boaters is good karma because our day was awesome if ya love the senko bite. CAST..wait....wait...tick.....swing! All day. had thirteen fish total all over 2 lbs. biggest running 5.5 lbs. if you run across the lake be sure to throw out a red and silver spoon for some nice holdover trout. nice lake, trolling motors only, gets windy around 2pm. tight lines and good luck.

      Water Temp: 58

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: My fishing buddy (Frank)& I started fishing at 12:41 P.M. north shore line. Targeted lay downs in about 4 to 10 feet with 4inch Senko's. We fished for a little over 4 hours and I ended up with 18 fish landed. Out of the 18 only one on a crank bait. Frank got 2. He was stubborn. He was using the same color for a while but the longer Senko. He did not get as many bites. Out of the 18 fish I caught 15 were smallies! It was my best Small mouth day ever! I wish we could have stayed longer!
      City: Healdsburg

Tips: Senko's Senko's Senko's. I used a spinning rod with 8lb test and 3/0 wide gap hooks & 1/8 weight. The bite was very lite with a tick. Most of the time the rod just loaded up with pressure. I only lost a few thought even with the ligter line. I kept my boat in about 20' and hammered the lay downs. The one crank bait bite was on a Crawdad pattern.

      Water Temp: 67-75

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Started fishing the lake at 7:30am and caught about 30 LM. Biggest fish came at 7.4lbs. Off the water about 4:00pm. We are gonna go back to lake next week and see if the bites get hotter.
Bass was about everywhere we went cuz of prespawn so we had no problem locating them. All fish was caught on plastics and jigs. All bass was C/R.
      City: San Francisco

Tips: Had four Rods with me today rigged with 5'black gold glitter senkos, 4'powerbait worm, 4'yum lizard, and 3/8 jig with red mudbug. So yeah, plastics was it for us....enjoy! Catch and Release.

      Water Temp: 59-61

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished 1:30 to 6:00...Tubed from Launch and follwed shoreline South. I was determened to Rip.
I only marked two fish in the first hour..both suspended. I speant the next two hours hunting with occasional small action. I finally found them staged in 11-13 feet of water suspended around 6 feet deep....maybe 70 yards from the shallow flats. I couldn't find a consistent Rip bight "tired arms"...Started drop-shotting with great action.I watched alot of boats hit the typical water and blank...then cruise right over all those fish on there way to another spot. It's almost like everybody is programed...we just keep pounding what usually works. I found all these fish stacked in an area that I never pay attention to...normally 20-24 feet and featureless. Eventually the wind got the better of me.
Anyways, eventually that wind got the better of me. Interesting day...after that front.
      City: Morgan HIll

Tips: I'd suggest hit your spots...if it's slow search..then search some more. Atleast 75 percent of what I marked was suspended.

Report: Thanks for the feedback John. I just fished a similar area last week in Franks, AND COULD NOT BELIEVE THE AMOUNT OF BASS BOATS JUST FLYING BY ME!!!! I thought for sure somebody would at least stop and share the hole , but no one did. I totally respect you keeping your areas to yourself. I am always searching for new information, but I understand that TOO much shared information on the net could clean out "good spots" THANKS AGAIN.......

Report: David the best choice to tubes is at Franks Tract, I've been tubing thers for quite sometimes now, launch at beacon harbor, piper slough is very productive during this time of year, as per shore fishing I have no clue, good luck and see you in the water.

      Tips: Roboworm, Senko, Crank crawdad

Report: I did not catch my fish in Franks. I fish a lot of tournaments so i don't want to give exactly where i'm fishing away. There are still many quality fish in Franks and you can find the same types of areas there. The community hole would be one area. If you want to go have some fun catching a lot of quality bass, give sherman island a try.

      Water Temp: 57-61

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: The front that blew through put the fish off a bit. There was a pretty good rip/fluke bite in the morning. The fish were eating the fluke wierd striking the bait short. That bite slowed as the sun came up. Went looking for bed fish when the sun came up. Found some pockets with lots of bed fish, but the front has them skittish and not locked on at all. They wouldn't leave, but they were not protecting. I think when the temp moves back up to 65 they will be protecting. My day was ok with 15 fish up to 4 lbs. The 4 lber was my only jig fish. Not as good as I had hoped, but with the storm I guess it is to be expected. Those small fish out in 20 ft are still there in swarms feeding on some sort of 1/2in. fry. Looks great on the graph, but are all small fish.
      City: Clovis

Tips: Throw reaction baits in the morning on steeper banks with a little deeper water near by. Sight fishing should blow up in the next few days as the water temp recovers from the front. Those big females are probably just sitting on the outside in 10-15 ft. waiting to move up. Should have dragged a bit but I was stubborn. Wish I could hit it again on Friday.

      Water Temp: 62-64 degrees

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Cold Morning, windy, with gusts to 20MPH...started with a silver/silver spinnerbait, caught 4 avg 2 lbs, then after sun was up, used a smoke with gold flake senko for most of the day. If I fished the rock piles, the senko killed them...on grass, a cotton candy lizard Carolina-Rigged caught about 8 1-2 lb males..all spots...with the senkos, hooked wacky style, the average bass was 2.5 lbs, largest 5 lbs..total 20 fish from 0630 A.M.-0100 P.M. fished from the dam corners all the way to Cotton..
      City: Merced, CA

Tips: If it's sunny, Shad pattern Senkos with a silver or gold flake are working....if it gets overcast..go darker...cinnamon, rootbeer, dark smoke, etc...so far any rock piles, or submerged rocks are where the senkos work...also saw some guy catch an 8lb Black Bass on Keeper Green/Blue Texas rigged worm....
