Report: I enjoy reading the reports on this lake. I will be visiting a friend this week and fishing this lake for the first time, any suggestion on specific location would be great. I heard a big fish was caught on a swimbait, where on the lake is good for this. Thanks for any info

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Fished McClure again today. Got on the water at 7am and fished until 2pm. We caught and released approx. 50 fish (lost count). Mixed bag of spots and largemouths. Mostly slot sized fish. Big fish of the day was a 3 pound spot. My fishing partner had a 7 plus largemouth come up and kiss his senko (water was so clear we watched it happen) but the fish would not commit. Caught most of them w/ the same pattern. Dartheaded worms & texas-rigged creature baits worked best for us. Threw a spinnerbait, had a few slap at it and then one committed and put up one heck of a fight. Wish we could have stayed for the evening bite.
      City: Atwater

Tips: Berserk Baits - Smokin' Purple 6" worm, Roboworm Purple Punisher 6" worm, Baby Brush Hogs in Watermelon Red and Green Pumpkin, Shad colored spinnerbait. Check out the new fishing section at the 76 station in Snelling.

      Water Temp: 56 to 60

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Nice day on the lake. Cold in the morning, hot in the afternoon. Algae still a minor problem in areas of lake but very fishable. If you like to use plastics the bite has been solid. My brother, uncle and I fished from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Caught and released over 60 bass between the 3 of us with the majority being largemouth. Over 30 of those were keeper size and better. Use darker colors as the water is still a bit stained. We used Robo Worms and ring worms. I did manage to catch a few on lizzards. Some bass are already spawning and many still staging. Fish the east side below the ranch house around noon time and you will be in for a treat. Largest of the day went close to 5 lbs. Best 5 right at 14 lbs.
      City: Sacramento

Tips: The fish are moving in shallow. On the moss beds you can easily spight fish and the bass are biting. Use 4" to 6" ring worms or Robo Worms in darker colors. Clear colors are not producing numbers as the water is still a bit stained.

      Water Temp: 60

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished on just inside Horshoe Bend on outside edges of tulies. Worked dropshot on incoming tide for 3 hours. Managed 8 bass from 1.5 to 6 lbs. all in 50 yard stretch. All were males except for largest fish. Had one BIG blow up on a frog but never saw fish again. Picked up my wife at Lauritzen's at 2:oo and headed back to same spot. She managed one fish about 2 lbs. on same dropshot. Fish didn't seem to be as aggressive on out going tide.
      City: Antioch

Tips: Watermelon/black flake colored yamamoto dropshot worms in 6" length. All fish came on outside edge of tulies. Tried senkos inside but no takers.

Report: Oh yeah, about the report that I just posted, I was fishing with a huge brush hog using a dead slow retrieve. I did not specify in the report what i was fishing with so it seems to me that it would be a little confusing being that I said I never caught fish on a reaction bait. Anywho, now y'all know.

Tips: Get yer butts out on that lake and catch the hell out of em'!! See ya'!!

      Water Temp: 56-58

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Maybe the bite isn't wide open, it just seemed that way when I have been out 3 times in the past couple of weeks with 20-30 fish days in the 2-4lb range, with another individual on the boat. We caught them shallow from woods, middle areas of the lake, down all over the lower end. Jigs or worms, cranks, ripbaits, and spinnerbaits.

Tips: Yo-zuri ripbait in about 8-10ft of water, crank shallow, spinnerbaits first thing before the sun comes up, jigs and worms all day. Hope this helps, need help getting some more fish in the boat call me, maybe I can help (209) 604-8222.

      Water Temp: 58-65

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Looks like the bite is turning on got two on a crank bait both of them shallow. From what I have heard the afternoon bite is the best thats is when I got my fish as well. Also, from what I have heard there is a pretty good brushhog bite. All fish being caught real shallow 5 to 8 feet. Lots of guys telling me that there cathing around 10 in a day. Looks like I just wasn't on the right pattern.

      Tips: CATCH AND RELEASE!!!!!!!

      Water Temp: 60-62

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: another good day...buddy "ITS TOM!" and I managed 15 in about 4 hours or so, biggest around 3 1/2, mostly cookie cutter males, but very agressive on the incoming tide, slowed way down on the outgoing. plastics tight to the bank, got most of my hits as soon as the bait hit the water.
      City: Tracy

Tips: wind was a factor for me, I have a small aluminum, so tried to fish out of the wind, still did good. keep yer thumb on that spool, some bites happened before I even cranked the reel in gear.

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Launched at 5AM at Red Bud. 8 fish by 2, and then a fish every cast for the next hour or so. 50 plus or minus largemouths and a huge crappie. The fish are full to their stomachs.
      City: Suisun

Tips: Look for them off the bank in deeper water. I threw everything until until I found what they wanted.

      Water Temp: 50+

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: fished today and was very surprised by my results. I have been hearing about a killer swimbait/ripbait bite that's been going on. Yesterday I fished from 2:30 to 9:00 pm and caught 5 fish fishing dead ass slow!! All of my bites (about 7 or 8) were extremely hard to detect and I was barely moving the bait, like an inch every minute. The rip bait thing didn't produce for me at all, neither did a 7" mission fish or a river2sea. Don't know whats up with that.
      City: Upper Lake

Tips: seems like everyone else is experiencing that killer reaction bite that everyones been talking about. What do you guys think about Krutcher!??!!! thats some heavy weight!! anyways catch em' on what you can. see ya on the water boys!!

Report: Fished Tuesday late afternoon for 2 hours before gate closed. Water still semi muddy and cold! Two small bass walking the bank...need more water and a trout plant. Site fishing for bed fish may be tuff this year (next 4 weeks); most flats are out of water right now. Beds may possibly be deeper this year(6-10 ft). Just one man's opinion!

      Water Temp: 63-65F

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: The last report I posted was for 3/13/07. This report is for the 14th. Got on the water about 4pm and fished until 9pm. My fishing partner and I caught and released approx. 50 fish. Stayed in the south end of the lake again: Cottonwood, Temperance, and McClure Point. Big difference between today and yesterday. They were hammerin' the baits today, no question as to whether or not you were getting bit. The fish were shallow and tight to the banks. Caught a nice mixture of spots and largemouths. Nothing real big, but lots of action.
      City: Atwater

Tips: Fish shallow and hold on tight! Caught them dartheading worms, texas-rigging creature baits, a few spinnerbait fish, 1 crankbait fish, even had one hit a topwater. Most consistent action came on Berserk Baits - Smokin' Purple, Roboworm - Purple Punisher, Creature Baits - dark colors. Check out the new Snelling 76 fishing section for a great selection of baits.
