Water Temp: 51-52
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Short day. Fished for about two hours to get out of the house. Caught two Largemouth outside Pope Creek Bridge on a flat. First one was 3 lb. on a rip bait. Got the second one dragging a creature bait in submerged bushes. Water in the main lake south of the big island is still crystal clear.

Report: Finally! Finally! Finally. I have been throwing the big swim bait all winter. thinking one good bite. I am fishing for one bite. I got bit 4 times this day. (although one looked like another trout) Still dont really know what I am doing slinging this 4 pound jelly bomb at the fish but I am patient. I got hooked up with one fish but she came unbuttoned. It wasnt a double digit fish. I did fish a drop shot aarons magic to the right of the launch ramp for 4 up to (1)lb. in about 30 minutes. Went up to the Delta last weekend fished from a z19, Greg Hall took us out on his 522 and a the champion rep on their boat. All great rigs but I really liked the Z19.
City: GoletaTips: teach a kid how to throw the 4 pound jelly bomb! Contact me for a free Custom Rod! We choose materials together, You pay for materials and shipping, I build. I have to get more of my sticks out down here. (First come first serve)

Water Temp: 53-56
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Launched at Rivers End and it was windy "again" Sure makes it hard to figure out with 25mph winds. Caught about 8 fish today 3 on a wht/cht spinnerbait and 5 on a speed trap. Most of the fish today were good quality 3-lbs plus and I lost a big one. Got some in Victoria on the rocks and the others were just here or there. We did get a few good ones way off the bank on the out going tide. A tough day but the quality is getting better. Spend a long time fishing way down old river and never got bit.
City: MartinezTips: With the cooling weather the bite is slowing fish both the spinnerbait and the crank very slow. www.ezbass.com

Water Temp: 51-53 degrees
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Took a client today from Santa Rosa area. He wanted to learn structure and read the graphs. The day was windy and wild on the main lake so we stayed in the narrows, wraggs, Hains, and parts with no names, LOL!!!!. I showed him how to meter shad on structure and how bass relate to both. We used one bait all day, a DM Costom Bait Stand-up head with a Big Mama in Watermelon. We caught about a dozen fish with the best five between 10-11lbs all between 21ft to 28ft. Not one fish below 30ft, although we tried, they just wouldn't go. All the fish we caught were related to deep deep water nearby, at least 60ft. After about 9 hours of fishing and reading the meters, I didn't read but one ball of shad. All the shad on the meters were either horizontal 2ft off the buttom or im mass on the buttom thick but nothin bother'in them. The fish we caught were skinny but nice 2lb or a little better. Out of a dozen 8 were at this size. I'll be up there again this friday, don't expect much difference with the storm com'in in Wednesday and Thursday.
City: Bethel Island at Russo'sTips: Use your meters to fine the shad, thus you will catch fish. Another pattern that I use at this time of year is Transitional points were the mud becomes rock or visa-versa. Good luck

Water Temp: 55-57
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: It's been real good. Today another 3.5 with 2 2's and a bunch of keepers. Started catchin some smaller fish only because we got blown off the points and were forced to fish shallower. Still a real strong bite despite the wind. It's fishin like March in Feb!
Tips: Best fish were in deeper water. 3/8 min for the windy water. See yall next weekend...unless...

Camp Far West Lake
-
Water Temp: 57.4
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Windy day. Water colored and started slow. One bite ,one keeper in first two hours. Went to the north shore in the rock creek arm. Water temp 58.9 and it made the difference. We caught 8 keepers total, averaging about 1 lb to 1.5 lbs. Used 4 in greem weenies on a darthead. Mostly in about ten feet. Wind was a problem but typical cold day fishing.
City: CarmichaelTips: Find the warmer water and fish slow. Pressure bites mainly. 2 degrees water temp was the difference.

Report: Caught a bunch of little fish dropshotting an occassional keeper...1 10lb'r on the dropshot!Future Pro coming up any tips? This is starting to be the dead sea around here...Where do you go for fish? The market? Graphed lots of big fish in deep water 60-70 feet...Doesnt seem like theyre ready for anything...Hope it changes soon. Any tips will be appreciated.
City: MercedTips: slow and bounce your dropshot deep they like it on the move. seemed to like the purple flake rattlesnake 10 inch worm...big one hit a 3" minnow imitation ...go figure!

Report: hiked in to the lake again. water's way up at the lake. only easy shore access i found was at the damn. a decent amount of debris in the dirty water, weeds, reeds, etc. threw senkos for about 10 minutes with no strikes so i switched to a red 1/4 oz. spinnerbait. caught one bass of about 1 lb. (at most). that's it. slowed since my last two visits.

Water Temp: 53-55
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Spent the afternoon at the in-laws. Able to get on the lake and fish from my kayak from 1:00pm - 4:00pm. Started out throwing 1/2oz football Hula jig around the marina in 15 - 25ft, no takers and was bringing up lots of weeds. Decided to start throwing blades on the wind blown bank and around docks. One short strike but that was it. Finally decided to slow down and throw a senko around deeper docks near the dam. Caught a nice 3.5lb blackie. Still slow, continued to fish docks and caught two more 2.5 lbers. on the shady side of docks. Fished mostly deeper docks (8 - 15 feet).
City: Rocklin, CATips: Never really found a pattern other than dropping senkos on the shady side of deeper docks. Still waiting for the water to continue to warm and have them mover up shallow. Great day none the less.

New Melones Lake
-
Water Temp: 50-53
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: We had a 20 boat tournament on presidents day with 5 fish limits for 18 of 20. Overall a tough day with big fish at only 3 pounds. The lake was hammered with two big tournaments the two days prior. Some boats caught as many as 25 fish, but all were between 12-15 inches as most of the bigger fish were possibly spooked over the previous weeks fishing traffic.
City: RiverbankTips: Watermelon colored worms with red flakes or red colored worms with gold flakes seem to work good in this lake.

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Fished out of Antlers on Friday afternoon 2/17, with my nephew Jason, who's new to bass fishing. Fished points and some coves but couldn't get any bites on 4" green weenies. We couldn't keep the bass off the minnows though. On Saturday we fished harder, but the minnows were not performing well. We caught bass on 4" green weenies near brush and trees, caught an 18 1/2" rainbow trout on a green weenie near some brush and a 17" rainbow on a silver Panther Martin deluxe with a green trout power worm trailer. Both trout had beautiful salmon colored fish and I'm looking forward to smoking them. Took my lil' brother Bob and his son Theo for a ride around, great weather. Lots of bank fisherman out....Guys!!! I'd like to see more kids out there fishing!!!!
City: MontagueTips: Minnows! Points might have bigger bass, but we had more fun in the coves

Anderson Lake

Water Temp: N/A
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: On the water at 9am and headed to the north end and tried the prominent points. Fish seemed to be scattered and moving up the water column as the water temp heats up. Most fish were suspended 15 feet off the bottom in about 55 feet of water. Didn't see too many schools of shad so fish were scattered. Dificult day on the lake with only 8 fish between me and my friend. Big fish at 3 lbs and another at 2.5 lbs the rest were dinker-doos.
City: Watsonville, CaTips: Drop shot with a long distance between hook and sinker may increase hookups. Also use DT-hula grubs jigged in 15-25 feet deep. Good luck and keep the posts coming for all lakes!

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Launched at markley at around 10:00 (late start) and fished the narrows. Caught 15 total. mainly throwing dartheads with robo's and grubs. 2 crankin fish, 1 nice spot and smallie. Slow day all in all, but beautiful weather! Pleasure boaters are starting to show.
City: chicoTips: Fish SLOW. Main points not in coves.

California Delta

Water Temp: 53.5-56
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Launched at Orowood due to the wind. I fished a 1/4 delta craw speed trap most all morning got a 3.5 and 4.5 right away than some small one 1-2.5lbs about 9 for the day. Bite was pretty good when the tide was falling but on the incoming the bite slowed. The better fish the last few days have come on the pause or a deflection and only little ones on the straight retrieve. It was hard to cast with a 37 mph wind today I fished a lot of new stuff and the fish were on the leeward side. And near deeper water the fish aren't up in the slot yet.
City: MartinezTips: Yesterday we got 20 throwing white, wht/cht, red/blk and it didn't seem to matter what color the bait was you had to hit something.
-
Water Temp: 54-55.5 degrees
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: It's been almost 2 months since I've been out on the river, launched from Orwood and fished from there until the mouth of kellog creek, struggled quite a bit, caught 3 on a jig to 2 lbs, in about 3 hours, motored back to orwood and started with a a 1/4 oz. speed trap and caught 7-8 fish in the last 1/2 hour to 3.5 lbs, a little pause now and then on the retrieve triggered them.
City: OakleyTips: Hell if I know, just throw until something works.

Water Temp: 51 at 6:30 a.m.
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Fished up by muddy water at NY creek, caught two keepers on 1/4 oz brown jigs. Left for main body but wind was howling with three foot swells, made a few casts and left around nine.
City: sacTips: Should have stayed, got to Sac and saw overcast was approachiung causing the wind to temporarily blow. Make sure and read weather forcast before you go, I didn't, shame on me. Good luck
