City: SalinasTips: Be careful if it's not the wind it's the Tule fog over here.I was just outside the island by Dino point and two guy's came up and asked where's the Basalt ramp, guy's you are on the wrong side of the lake.I sure hope they made it back becouse the fog was real bad whne i left.

Water Temp: 59
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Got on the lake around 2:00 P.M. and fished until sundown. First cast my dad nailed a two pounder on a skinny watermelon 4 inch senko and I was like "cool" maybe I'll try that. So my dad got skunked the rest of the day because he caught a fish the first cast, you know "bad luck". I ended up catching around ten bass, biggest going three pounds and a couple of twos and the rest were dinks. We got in trouble for staying on the lake too long because I was having a blast, but it all worked out.
City: PrunedaleTips: Get to the lake early and get those active fish with spinnerbaits and crankbaits and later in the day slow down with plastics and jigs. Oh yeah, lake is really low because they are draining it for the winter rains. Fish rocky points, every one you see, there is fish on them. You have to find them.

Report: Fished outside of Franks Track for Stripers. Found A few good ones up to 11 lbs. on Gibbs Minnows. Going to try some top water next time if I can get my lazy @$$ on the water before sun up.
Terry
City: SacTips: Hey no name that is why 90% of the fisherman go fishing and the rest of us 10% catch fish. You have to spend A lot of time to learn seasonal patterns on the Delta to be succesful and even the best of us still get skunked!!!!

Report: Fished club T O C with Vincent Lees, Started up north fork because of success pre fishing. Nice limit drop shot? Not one bite by 9:30 so we left for south fork. Vince had a couple of spots and they paid off right away. 3 keepers drop shotin 35 foot range on long point. Tried one of my spots that pete robino and I used to fish and nailed a fat 5 lber on a capt jack jig. 1/2 oz brown and purple skirt twin tail brown yamamoto trailer. Went back to long point and vince catches no. 5. We had 5 bites all day but they were enough to win with almost 10 lbs. Thanks Vince for giving up your spot for me. One other boat had a limit split shot in 15 foot range. Tough bite but that's the dead sea for ya.
City: OrangvaleTips: Use your electronics and fish slow. Bigger fish are on jigs as usual. I used a two hook drop shot rig with different colored worms to find out what they wanted. Brown on the bottom and a shad color on top hook. They wanted brown worms.Use 6lb test floro carbon line. Remember 5 bites in 8 hrs.NEVER GIVE UP

Report: Starteds out with small swimbaits, connected with one 2.5 black. The rest of the day I threww the huddleston 8 inch. No more fish. Quit at 1230. Low preesure came through last night so I knew I was going to have a rough time.
City: SactoTips: Even when the weather is not cooperating, keep your chin up and go for big momma. if you prefer a small limit try smaller baits. Good fishing Jimbo

Report: Didn't get on lake until 7:30..fished narrows on way to Horseshoe..there were two tournaments fishing today..A club and A.C.Teams..Lot of boats but no one on my stuff..I fished one cut that had wind blowing in and stuck a 3 1/2 spot on a swimbait....then another boat flew in and almost ran me over and spooked the fish. Went up river and fished steep cuts on both sides..Caught a lot of small fish on dropshot..Started throwing jigs and the bite was on..threw brown/purple 1/2oz football jig with a netbait paca chunk pumpkin color and caught a easy 12lb limit..in about one hour..fishing the end of points downwind in about 30ft any shallower and caught small fish..the best bite was 30 to 38 feet deep..just dragging..no hops..didn't get a thunk all day..just went weightless and they were there..about noon I think every boat on the lake came into the river and you had to wait your turn..most boats were dropshoting and catching small fish..
City: MaderaTips: fish up hill..put your boat shallow and drag uphill

Oroville Lake
-
Water Temp: 62
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: I took a client to Oroville Friday to teach him how to bass fish and though the bite would be ok because of good cloud cover most of the day. We fished Potter's, main body, and the middle fork. We did find a lot of bait but not many bass around the bait. Much of the bait was 80 to 130 feet - a bit deep!!! Most of our bass were landed by drop-shotting a Basstrix flashtrix 4' minnow. Our first two bass were even over the slot, but we only caught about 10 bass total. We missed several. Most of our bass were near creek channels. I was happy he caught a few and one of the "overs".
City: Yuba CityTips: Like has been mentioned, you need to move around a lot. All of our bass were caught at 35 feet and deeper. When the water finally cools - if it ever does this winter - the spots will school up and we will catch more in one spot. Until then - happy hunting!!!!!

Water Temp: 60-62
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Saturday was beautiful day to be at the lake! Myself and two friends Todd & Rich were out to find some bass! There was a tourney going on that day but not so many boats that around every corner you had to troll around someone. The bite was tough make no mistake yall, you pretty much had to hit the bass in the head to get it to bite. From daylight to 2:30pm we accounted for 11 spots, best five would go about 8-9lbs. Saw two fish chasing lures, one was actually caught on a crank! The others were all caugh on 4-6 inch strait tail worms. Caught a few up shallow but most fish are between 20-60+ feet of water.
City: Plumas LakeTips: Just be patient and have fun fishin' the fish are down deep and will bite, just depends on how hungry they are when they see your offering! See yall on the lake...

Water Temp: 56-58
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Launched @ 8:00am in middle delta on outgoing tide. Fished nothing but tule islands and rock points. My partner cought 8 largemouth up to 3 lbs. on spooks and spinnerbaits. I was throwing pencil popper and luckycraft pointer (white) and cought alot of stripers but no black bass. (??). Just a great day on the water with very good weather and calm water. Off the water by 1:30, about 25 fish between us. All stripers were of keeper size, but nothing over 5 lbs.
City: TracyTips: Tule island points for black bass and sripers, they are feeding together.

Clear Lake
-
Water Temp: 59-63
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: I hate fog!! Not the visability problem but what it does to the bite! Wednesday my client and I had to fish in the first bad fog of the year and it didn't clear totally until noon. The only fair bite was around noon near Konocti Resort and again at dusk around Sea Breeze. Five bass - 2 to 3 1/4 lbs and a few dinks - all on jigs. After some night rain and a very cloudy Thursday, my next client and I expected some pretty good fishing. Not so for numbers but quality was good. Again, all fish on jigs. Brown/orange seemed to be working the best again. I finally gave up on my purple/brown. He caught his biggest jig fish ever at 5 1/4 lbs and another around 4 lbs. Just before we quit about 4 pm, I showed him a tiny rockpile near Rattlesnake Island and I dared myself to try to work a jig over it. I had no success at all - a 6 pounder ate it! No bragging here - I lost the Rodstrainer jig on the next cast. So - you figure this out. We had 4 bass for approx 17 1/2 lbs and 5 bass for 18 lbs. Yes, you're right - the fifth might have been 10 inches!
City: Yuba CityTips: This warmest water I have ever seen in mid-November has caused the dinks to still be shallow. They hit our jigs and bite the tails off the Yamamoto grubs just like they do in the summer. Bugs are still sticking to my boat. They should be long gone by now! If you look at the photo page, some big bass are beginning to show. Unfortunate, the fog really slowed the bite down for the last two days. We tried other baits with no luck. The bass seemed to leave the normal 8 to 15 foot range when the fog hit - just my observation. The nice bass we did catch were in that range and we could not get the deep bass to bite. I tried to remind myself - if you are not catching anything - move! We moved a lot. I heard one angler that has been doing well lately also had a very tough day yesterday. I guess I feel better!

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: In water @08:00 hours, air temp at 54 deg and water temp at 56deg. Water clarity down to two feet and stained. Fished near Dissapointment slough most of the day and best 5 went just over 16lbs. Caught all fish in less then 10 feet of water on "Cooch's" New Wadda jig in Brn. Man what a Jig he has designed thanks Cooch for everything. Tried Crankbaits, spinnerbaits, and other plastics but the Jig bite was on. My personal best tonight an 8lb'er and she is getting fat for the winter....I can't post the picture until I find out how to down size it from 3300kb's to the required 250kb allowed in order to posts.
City: El Dorado HillsTips: You have to search hard for quality fish but I can attest to you that they are there and man are getting fat. Take a kid fishing and tight lines.
