Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished down south looking to establish some kind of LM pattern.... tough for me to stay focused when the linesides are in....Got bit everywhere I went on just about everything I threw,, but no size. Buzzbait, spinnerbait, chatterbait, rat-l-trap, speed trap, DD14, jigs and senko's.. Got em tight to the bank, outside weed lines, deep ledges ,in the current, out of the current, high water, low water.... a few 2.5's and one 3 with bunches of rats.. Maybe 12 pounds for best five. I know the bigguns are out there, I saw the weights last weekend, just not for me..
Still pretty good water clarity and the dams will be up till about the 20th..

      Tips: Catch more stripers!

      Water Temp: 62

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Launched out of Big Break at 7am, Ran into a fog bank on the river. Slowly made my way up into Dutch Slough, We were going to go for stripers, and had some luck on scoolie sized ones from 18-24 inches. when the tide went slack the stripers stopped biting.
I saw some comotion off of a tule point and fired a swimbait over there. Much to my delight it was whacked by a bass, after that we were bass fishing. We got maybee 15 bass, nothing big, but alot of fun.
      City: Suisun City

Tips: look for tules with deep water right next to them, look at the current and pitch your baits in all the protected pockets.
rememeber a fat bass is lazy, she don't want to fight the current......

      Water Temp: 62

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Started off early with jigs at Shag rock with one going 2.8 lbs. Moved to another spot by Anderson Island and began to throw the delta colored Voo-Doo with the first big fish of the day going 4.63 on the Cull-M-Right scale. We stayed around Anderson Island for the remaining time of our trip catching and releasing about 12 fish. Best 5 went around 13 pounds. We threw the LV 500 and the Voo-Doo all day but the Voo-Doo seemed to be what they wanted.
      City: Roseville

Tips: Try the Voo-Doo in white or orange. Seems to me that the Voo-Doo lure seems to get the more aggresive fish which is what we were looking for.

      Water Temp: 59-61

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Had the day off so the wife and I spent the morning crappie fishing at our secret spot called Shag rock. She caught the most with 16 and I caught 15. Sizes ranged from 1lb to just over 3lbs (she also caught the largest). All fish were released.

We then targeted bass in the afternoon which started off nicely with a fat 4lber just engufing my LV 500 while the bait was being dragged along the bottom like a jig. We ended up with 7 bass (not counting the dinks we caught crappie fishing) with the best 5 coming in at right around 11lbs.
      City: Petaluma

Tips: Crappie - chartreuse and red/white 1/16 oz jigs. Let the jigs sink then work them in slowly using different retrieves.

Bass - LV 500 and drop shot. Experiment with your bait selections and technique. These fish seem to like things that are VERY different.

      Water Temp: 62

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: It has been awhile since I have had to fight a cold north wind w/bluebird skies, but there was no way out on Thurs. Two clients and I worked hard for 9 bass - however - one of theirs was well over 5 lbs, caught on a small brush hog. Our limit weight was fair with several in the 2 to 2 1/2 lb range. Some dinks always bite too in a cold front. I showed them several places that should produce bass for them in the future during better weather. Dark colored worms worked ok - cranks didn't with a cold front.
      City: Yuba City

Tips: In-coming storms should definately help the bite and cool off the water. 62-63 degree water a week or so into November is rare. I was going to do some night fishing after dinner but figured it would be a bust - it was going to be VERY cold. Went home to my warm house!!

      Water Temp: 60-62

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Water level dropping, be careful going through the narrows. There is an unmarked hazard right in the middle, you can see the rocks starting to show. GO SLOW. Lake wants to turnover, did manage to get a limit 2-4 lbs. on jigs 25 ft. fished slow. 1/4-3/8 dark colors. Hopefully it will get better after this rain. Good Luck.

      Water Temp: 63

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: The deep bite for small fish is still wide open. I caught 40+ fish from 25-35 ft. deep. The morning yielded a few nice top water fish, but after that, could only get bites in the 30 ft. range on the drop shot. I wanted to throw more reaction baits, but all the boats psyched me out. It was very crowded with the Holiday. It made it hard to fish fast down the bank in most areas. I had plenty of action, but mostly very small fish. Where are all those 2-3 lb fish we cath in the early spring? You would think that fishing deep would yield a little more quality. I have caught a few 3 lb fish in deep water in the past 5 weeks, but not many. Take Mark's advice and find some quiet areas that are not seeing the pressure some of the more popular areas are seeing. Water is still very warm. We need more cold nights to get the fish moving. If you are catching better quality than I am, please let me know. All those little fish are starting to frustrate me. Don't get me wrong, still having fun out there. Still a great bite to keep the kids happy.
      City: Clovis

Tips: Try drop shotting larger baits or probe the deeper water with a jig to entice a larger bite. When not so crowded, stick with the reaction baits until the sun gets up. Monitor the water temp to guage when the turn over might occur.

      Water Temp: 62 to 64.7

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Friday and saturday may be the best two day this week for jig and swimbait fish if this storm turn out to bring a good amount of rain. Bass are still in the 25 to 40 foot depth but the storm will bring some fish shallow. Humps flats and points are all holding good bass right now. you can also dropshot these fish in deeper water around the dam area. KEY fish areas with less traffic. I pick areas where nobody was fishing in the 5 mph area and also on the main body of the lake and we caught bass up to 4 pounds. Most of are fish were on the flats. 559 689-3255

      Water Temp: Clear, cold

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished the north delta in my favorite slough. Maybe due to cold ass day, the fish turned off. No Bass caught. No Strippers caught. Did catch 2 nice crappies on a DT-10 Rapala in bluegill patern. Also snagged a little Catfish in belly. Then comes the whopper. Buddy hooks to what thought to be a huge stripper, surfaced to become an ugly, stinky 20lb CARP. CARP was accidentally snagged in the bottom bass of tail fin while trolling swim bait. Since 1 guy said to report even the lowest ugliest CARP, I thought I might share my carp story as it was the only highlight of the day's trip.
      City: Sacramento

Tips: I look at it this way. Carps produce babies that feed our more sought after fishes, Bass and Strippers. I have heard stories of people shooting carp with shotguns. I have seen people toss carp onto banks to kill them. WHY? Carps do not share the same food source as bass or Stripers so there is no competition. Carps clean the bottoms of the waterways and is a vital part of the systems food chain. Give them some respect. Nicely throw them back in the water next time you catch one so it continues to help clean and supply our fishery.

      Water Temp: 55-60

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished Claer Lake for a few days last week. Don't get to fish for big fish very often,so it was a pleasure meeting some of them. Thursday bite was good to awesome on jigs. Boated fish to five pounds with none under two. Don't know how many, maybe 20. Friday bite got better with slightly fewer fish but bigger, palyed with crappie a while. Big fish that day was 8 followed by a 6-2 and 5 or 6 in the 4-5 pound class. Saturday went into rattle snake and lost one 3.5 on a senko and caught several short fish. Sunday had to leave but not without hammering somemore 2-4 pounders on jigs. Where or what did they catch the 13.31 pounder on? What a fatty. Caught fish from one end of the lake to the other.

Tips: Jigs on rock. 4-10 feet of water.

      Water Temp: 53

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: I fished Collins twice this week - Tuesday afternoon from 3 pm to 5:20 pm produced 3 largemouth - the first a powerful 13 incher! The last 2 were better - 4 lbs 3 oz and 5 lbs 2 oz! I lost a good one too. They were caught on a brown\orange Rodstrainer jig in about 18 to 20 feet of water. A friend and I went Thurs for about 5 hours and caught 7 bass - all spots. The biggest was near 3 lbs and two were over 2. Spooning a Duh! spoon in about 30-40 feet of water produced the biggest fish. A 1 3/4 oz morning dawn spoon did the trick. Missed a few also. The drop-shot bite was fair for smaller bass and only one caught on a jig. It was a nice cloudy day early and thought the bite would be better. When the sun came out around noon, the bite died!
      City: Yuba City

Tips: I am hoping incoming rain will help the bite. Water is still very clear. Bass are still really scattered. Most bass are 20 to 50 feet right now.

Report: Anyone fish it lately? Any trout stocking going on yet? I would really like to throw big swimbaits when the trout get planted, but even the Mercury News stopped listing Coyote in it's fishing reports it's been so slow. I was going to camp a few days before Thanksgiving and really fish it hard, but if reports are so bad...

      Water Temp: 63

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished for a few hours in the morning. Started out throwing cranks and blades with no takers. Switched to dropshot and ended up with 3 smallish fish. They were all in water 22-26 ft. deep.
      City: San Jose

Tips: It has been tough out here. Fish are in typical deep water fall pattern. Dropshot or vertical spooning seem to be the best bets.
