      Water Temp: 58-60

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: The last Jason Fisher Scholarship Tourny was held Nov 4th. It was a tough day for all except for the team of Sexton and Flanigan. They brought in approx. 18 lbs. with a 6 14 LM Lunker. I didn't bother to set up the scales as they had the only quality fish.
      City: Weaverville

Tips: I had an interesting day as my partner and I fished with the trolling motor only. We would have had 20 lbs if we'd weighed all 40 fish we caught. Thanks Mike and Rob for the tow. I'm headed to the Outboard Center in Redding this AM to re-power my boat.

      Water Temp: 60-63

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: went out saturday and start on the westside of the main body. even though it was an early start, i didn't have any luck on reaction baits.had luck drop shotting on graph fish in 20-30ft catching 5 fish w/topped by a 2#smallie. Went to the east side to fish the flats with moderate success. Started throwing cranks, ripbaits and topwater and caught a few more on cranks; all largemouth in about 8-12 feet of water. There was low fog til about noon and after that , no more crank fish. Started dropshotting some fish here and there, fishing no deeper than 18'. Looked for the grieves and they didn't seem to be able to find any bait either. Moved north and south on the east side picking up a few here and there. Couldn't find a pattern, but ended up with about 20 fish all 2# or less.
      City: orinda

Tips: The fish seem to be scattered at different depths and aren't real aggressive. There are fish in the grass, but getting them to bite isn't easy. I thought i would find bait easy, but no luck with that either. Even tho the fish are spitting up small shad, dark colored worms worked better than the smaller shad baits. If you can find sharp breaks with rocks or structure you should be able to catch fish, along with areas that have grass. I think the water still has to cool somemore, so the fish will become more stupid.

      Water Temp: 61

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished Saturday and Sunday. Bite was tough. Caught fish on rattle traps, LV500, DD22(red) and draggin' a lizzard. Had bites in 25ft up to 6ft. Best 5 on saturday 14lbs. Lot of pressure from the future pro tourney. The fish didn't seem to be everywhere. Found them in certain spots mostly in the south end between Jago and Wheeler. Needed rock, bait, and stained water.
      City: Clear Lake Oaks

Tips: When in doubt, through the lizzard, but the bigger fish were on the LV500 or rattle trap. Yo-yo style.

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: never fished this little lake before. rented a skiff and took off to check it out. water is quite clear up towards the dam end. i spent most of the day tucked into a cove i found up near dam end of lake. there was a nice mudline holding balls of shad in there, and managed to pick 4 keeper bass out of it. 2 on blades and 2 on the trap. nothing real big. the lower (marina) side of lake is much murkier but i couldn't get any fish down there.
      City: S.F.

      Tips: look for shad

      Water Temp: 61

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Started out early main body five inch swim baits. Caught two keepers, then proceeded to south fork bridge(underwater 3 feet), caught on eright at four pounds, had another tap, no hook up both bites on quater ounce jigs. Full moon, east wind, calm mostly, bad for aggressive fish.Threw one tons on deep structure till about 11:00 then started throwing my eight inch huddleston because it was dinner time for mr. big. Main body 12:00 hooked into a good one that weighed nine pounds six ounces on my culimrite. No other takers. Had to return home for more honey dos. Left at 1:00.
      City: sacto

Tips: If bite is slow in the a.m. try bigger baits at midday. They will come up and the larger fish will take the best offering. Forget about small baits to increase your limit.
      Good fishing, jimbo

      Water Temp: N/A

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Launched @ 6:30am, with the moon still high in the sky as the sun came up. Figured the fish had probably been eating all night, but what the hey. Two fish in the boat all day, both around 2lbs each, one on an 8" augertail/black t-rigged on main lake around wood, other on chartreuse spinner in a shallow cove near Loggers. First fish coughed up a couple of bright red juvenile crawdads. Off the water @ 1:00pm.

Tips: Keep movin' if you don't find 'em. Worked a lot of water for the two bites.

      Water Temp: 63.7-65.5

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: I took out Scott and Jim Volan for a day on the water. My day started at 6:00. I was second out of the marina and I went to my blade water from the week before. I tossed the blade for 5 minutes without being touched. Armed with the knowledge that there had been a plant of Calavera's trout(darker fish than Filmore) I pulled out my hudd and in 6 casts caught 3 fish! Best was 6 1/2 pounds and then they got smaller to just barely 3 pounds.I tried out likely spoon spots and recieved a favorable reaction and 5 minutes before I was to pick up the "boys" the trout started jumping all over the place. It wasn't a happy I love being a trout jump either. One looked like a mackeral with only it's tail in the water as it was fleeing for it's life. I tossed the Hudd but I didn't get any takers...So I went in and picked up Scott and his Dad( Mental Note: Start here with Hudd next week). I started on the walls with the three of us spooning as that had been better for me than the drop offs when I had checked earlier. We had what I would call a slow day.We caught fish all day long and had the same results as in weeks past. We had a Channel catfish of about 8 pounds and a blue that looked about the same. Several redear a few crappie, Less largemouth than in weeks past and the size was down a notch. The smallmouth bite continues to go on and Scott had big fish honors for the day when he tagged what I considered to be a smallmouth in excess of 4 pounds. The weather was almost to nice. ZERO wind and flat calm can sometimes really be bad but since we were fishing deep it didn't seem to matter as much. I caught my blade fish in the morning by NOT casting to the bank but rather by running the bank and casting out. There seemed to be some shad in 20 feet on one of the flats and I caught several nice largemouth by letting the blade coast to the bottom and then bringing in it. The water was only ten feet deep where I started my retrieve but the fish seemed to me in the brush offshore and not on the bank on this day.Scott and father Jim said the had a great day while I apologized for our day. They had a great day so I did to! I hope to be out again this Saturday.
      City: Santa Barbara

Tips: Constantly monitor the shape of your hook when spooning. I missed a few fish on this day that I normally wouldn't have because I was yacking and not paying attention to this small detail. Rebend them if you must but most definitely touch them up with a stone all day long and it will be worth your while.

      Water Temp: 59

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Got out late and launched off from Lazy-M before noon. Bite was very slow for both crank and plastic. Managed to get a few keepers under 2 lbs with the new swimming white senko. Slow retrieve with the fish hitting soon after the cast. Tried every crank with now success. Fished til sunset hoping for some striper topwater action, but nada. Very dissapointing day with anticipation for the next weekend. :-(

Tips: not much to offer except that plastic seemed to get some fish.

      Water Temp: 58-59

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Was excited about getting back to the delta after a month, but it turned out to be a pretty slow day. I'm sure the clearing pattern and north wind after the storm didn't help, but still expected a better bite. We fished the Whites, Bishop and Disappointment area and probably managed a 12 pound limit at best and that was anchored by a 6'1 we hit on a rattle trap. We also nailed two striper. One small and one about 7 pounds.Junk fishing was the rule. Caught fish on a bounch of different lures, but no pattern. The best part of the day was pulling up to a spot and seeing a guy puliing out huge crappie. We just so happened to have our crappie jigs with us, but only had 10 pound test for our lightest line. It didn't matter, as we smoked the crappie up to 1 1/2 pounds for the next hour until it was time to go home. Wish we would have started on them earlier.
      City: Roseville

Tips: Going to head to the middle delta next weekend. The east area water is really dirty unless it's high tide. I know some guys that have been on a really good swim bite in the disappointment area, but we could not get it to go. Other than that we had the kind of day I have been hearing about. One good fish and then not much to go with it. Good luck.

      Water Temp: 60-63

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: I fished from 10-4 yesterday and the bite was very, very dificult for me. I caught 6 fish with the best 5 maybe approaching 8 lbs. Only decent fish was a 3lber caught on the drop shot. The future pro tournament was in full swing so there was pressure all over the lake. I caught fish on the drop shot, LV 500 and DD22. The water was pretty clear in the areas I fished; mid-lake and around Rattlesnake.
      City: Petaluma

Tips: Fish slow and try a lot of different things.

      Water Temp: did not check-p

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Started out early throwing swimbaits, no takers. Problem full moon, cold wind, blue birdsky, after low system. Bite difficult, changed to jigs, went to underwater bridge, topped out at three feet, be careful. Caught a 4.5, 3 plus, wind was so bad I left farther down stream tossed more jigs on vertical walls, caught another pushing five pounds at thirty five deep. Wen tot play, metered a lot of bait and fish in the area, left to go home early. Tuff bite. Just ask Neil and Stevey. neil was kind enough to release the air bladder on one of my 4 pounders.

Tips: The weather is the prime thiung about these bass. Check it the day before and rig up accordingly to gain best results. Hopefully Sunday will be better. Good fishing, jimbo

      Water Temp: 58

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: John nailed six nice bass early, by 9:00 a.m.. He got a 3, a 2.5, a couple of 2's, a 1.5, and an 8" bass. The larger bass came on a 7" plastic worm and shad-finish crankbait. The 8" bass took a 7" worm...are bass voracious predators, or what? I fished hard for six hours, tring a variety of presentations from large swimbaits to a 7" Swimming Senko, and I couldn't buy a bite. John's action slowed after 9:00 a.m., too, and he tried several things but couldn't get any furrher bites. We fished under a partial overcast with virtually no wind. The lake has turned over now and the temperature is a uniform 58 degrees from the surface down to 40 plus feet.
      City: Monterey

Tips: Find the structure...underwater points and humps, and you may find the bass. Many other areas are devoid of fish and baitfish. Some areas of the main lake basin are holding many fish in the 40 to 60 foot depth range, but they won't hit deep presentations that usually work for suspended bass.

Report: Went out to troll for trout but couldn't help throwin for bass too. I was the first boat to launch at the public ramp on a foggy/cloudy calm morning. Ahhh yes, I love fishing. Trolling was slow, but on a couple of ocassions I found myself surrounded by a school of fish chasing bait near the surface. First time around I couldn't "match the hatch" before they dissapeared. Second time around it seemed a good old fashioned Rapala (black and white) was what they were looking for. I pulled in a really nice spot and a really nice trout before they dissapeared. I hooked up on a few other bass randomly and hooked and lost another trout before leaving at 2. Tight lines!

Tips: They are chasing bait near the surface right now. It's that time of year. Keep an eye out for the boils near the surface and throw minnow type lures at em till you find something they like and hang on.

      Water Temp: 58

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: I took my partner out today to chase some stripers again. First thing in the morning, we pulled up to a spot I usually do pretty well on. After about 15 cast we had our first blow up and our first fish, a 13-lb striper. We fished the remainder of the out going tide (about 2-hours) and had 10 more blow ups and caught 5 fish between 5 and 10-lbs. We tried a couple of other areas unitl the tide started to move back in. We went back to our first spot and on my third cast I caught a 18-lb striper. We fished for a while longer catching a couple of undersize stripers and decided to head in by noon. Another good day on the water. We caught all all fish on topwater baits, except for one with a swimbait. The overcast skies along with the water clarity allowed us to keep fishing with topwater baits.
      City: Suisun

Tips: Mark bait fish and larger fish in deep water and then fish the flats close by. It has been working for me.
