Report: Finally the lake is turning and the fish are getting very active. Trout and
      salmon are on the top
if you troll any lure that has a little wobble and goes down between two feet
      and eight feet you
are going to get fish. You can see boils all over the lake but on Sunday
      afternoon as the sun was
going down I watched about twenty to thirty good size bass herd the shad into a
      ball and just feed
right thru them. Anything I threw at them that resembled a large shad was hit
      immediatley. When
you look at your fish finder look for balls of bait that indicates that the fish
      are herding them into a
circle and devouring them and that should mean good fishing for you. On
      Saturday my wife and I
trolled in sixty feet of water with lures that dove from four to eight feet. My
      wife hooked on to an
eighteen inch small mouth bass which weighed a little over three pounds and was
      loaded with shad.
We did have a few hits on plastics but the real action was on reaction baits.
      This should be the hottest
three weeks for topwater fishing. We are going into a full moon and the water
is cooling down so all signs
are good for some great fishing ahead. 'til nex
      week............................good fishing!!!!!!

      WEEK BEFORE

It was a perfect weekend weather wise at Lake Berryessa. Saturday morning I
fished for crappie and catfish and was very successful. I only kept nine
crappie and must have caught over thirty-seven. I caught four catfish and
landed three ranging from four to six pounds. Not to much success with keeper
size bass this past weekend but there are a lot of little guys out there.
Sunday the shad were so plentiful and you could watch the bass herding them on
the surface of the lake. I caught fifty-four bass using mostly minnows and
minnow looking baits (fluke). The largest one was about ten inches all of them
had large girths (eating lots of shad). Try Capell Cove after the boat launch
ramp by the branches in the water it is loaded with crappie but tricky fishing
because of all the underbrush. All in all it was a good fishing weekend and it
will only get better from now on. 'til next
      week.........................................good fishing!!!!!!!!!

Report: I hope you guys are talking about the fish which is spelled with one "p". Two "p's" refers to an activity involving poles without guides or reels and five dollar bills. The thought of Stripper man perusing Disco Bay at night is a little frightening. As for the Fish, STRIPERS are filling into the system nicely, but not in great numbers yet. This storm while a little warm, should help. Some topwater action on spooks and large poppers in and around Mildred. Some in the elbows on Indian slough where bait can stack up. Only 2's and 3's spooning yet as the schools don't seem very dense. I have not done well trolling, but have talked to some who have done well in shallow water before first light.
      City: Discovery Bay

Tips: Use your electronics and binoculars to look for schools. If you are thinking of eating a Striper check this link first. http://www.oehha.ca.gov/fish/general/99fish_part2.html. Thanks Mike for the word on Bluegill

Report: Just didn't get enough from last weekend, so made the run back up from Roseville. Took a good friend with me who doesn't get to fish that often and loves to throw. The bite was a little tougher than last weekend, but we still managed to put 45+ fish in the boat. Biggest 5 went 9'13 on the X-Tool. Fish were tight to the bottom and not very active. You could find them, but had to leave the bait right on them for a while to get them to jump on it. A lot of the fish were spitting up smelt, but once again the bait balls no were nowhere to be found on the graphs. I bet the cooler weather we are going to get this week will bring the bait in to the coves and really get the fish chasing. The water temp was actually 2-3 degrees warmer than last week.
      City: Roseville

Tips: Just keep your line wet. Fish are kinda hard to target right now. Very scattered. You can pluck off one or two in a group and then you have to go looking for more. 25-50 feet was the most consistent depth. Not very specific, but that's where they were at. Got my jig and dropshot fix for a while. Back to the delta next weekend to prepare for tournament season. Clear Lake crappie coming up as well. :-)

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Another beautiful day on the lake with virtually no wind...the lake was like glass most of the morning...but the fishing was SLOW.
John got only two (one 1.5 lbs, one 2.5 lbs) and I got skunked...not even a bite in five hours of fishing (or casting, actually). John's fish were taken on a plastic worm and a slow-rolled white spinnerbait, both in about 20 feet of depth.
I tried lots of different presentations, including spinnerbaits (steady retrieve and slow-rolled), crankbaits (shad finish), buzzbaits, chatterbaits (white), swimbaits, Tiger Tube, and black, T-rigged Swimming Senko, but I couldn't buy a bite from the shallows out to about 30 feet.
      City: Monterey

Tips: Keep movin' 'til you find the fish. Much of the water appears to be barren...no baitfish or bass. When you find the fish, they'll bite.

      Water Temp: 60-64

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished 10/28 and 10/29 with my partner Billy and my 2 year old Son Brandon, my Son at only 2 loves to take the fish and put them in the livewell for just a few minutes and than take them out and put them in the lake, I know some kids that are 15 years old and are afraid to touch fish, He is great! fished out of Red Bud and hit my 6 normal spots, I don't think the fish are scattered, I think the fish are all at where everyone normally catches them at, my graph was showing all kinds of fish at all of my normal spots and sometimes it would black out with baitfish and fish, normally the wind picks up in the afternoon and stirs up the spots I fish and the fishing picks up, the last 3 weeks the water has stayed flat calm all day, this makes for great boat rides and beautiful days but not good fishing. We caught 12 fish to 3.5 lbs on Sat and 7 fish on Sun to 4 lbs. The 3.5 fish was caught on 10 inch red shad glass and brass and the 4 lb was caught on a gray w/black flake spidder grub glass and brass. Only fished until 4 on Sunday because my partner had to be back by 8:00 pm. I caught about 4 fish on drop shot green weenie and black grape 4 in worms. Billy got a 3.5 on a flat orange crank bait. A guy in a club tourney got a 11 lber on a giant crank bait on Sat.
      City: San Jose

Tips: I think fish are there and stacked up, I want to be there just before the next weather patern comes in and I guaranty you will catch a number of fish in one spot using the same technique you would use this time of year. God bless and come on rain!

Report: The lake was very stingy for me, about 15 fish with 4 keepers for 10# and two of them were 3# fish. Spent the whole day running around checking spots and techniques that normally work well in October. The fish were very timid and would take forever to actually eat the bait. Fish were scattered so you needed to cover a lot of water, but you had to fish real slow to get them to eat. It made for a frustrating trip. I did catch someones DD-22 in red craw with a red front hook on a jig at Henderson. Thanks!!!!
      City: Brentwood

Tips: Use your electronics to locate the fish then fish slowly in that area. The few fish caught came on a drop shot, c-rig, and a jig. Cranked and cranked and had a few bumps and did loose one after a few seconds that felt good.

      Water Temp: 60-65

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished for a few hours this morning and managed a few fish on the drop shot and one with the LV 500. It was beautiful today on the lake, no wind, moderate traffic and (unfortunately) scattered fish. My biggest fish today came in at just over 3lbs and was taken near Anderson Island. I was happy to see that the water appears to be getting a bit clearer, I didn't encounter as much red algae as I have in weeks past. The fish I caught today wanted a nice and slow presentation. Tommorrow I will fish in the afternoon and see if the bite is any better.
      City: Petaluma

Tips: Simple color changes can mean the difference between fish and no fish. I used green pumpkin in a spot today for about 10 casts with nary a nibble. Switched to junebug and immediately took two fish casting to the exact same spots.

Report: started early, main body mouth of south fork. Swim baits got thirteen pounds for three fish in about twenty minutes.Moved to other locations that were similar but no takers. Fish off the bite quickly. Temperatures rose to the dislkes of the bass. Caught numerous 2.5 pounders afterwards just having fun. Jigs were my choice in i/4 oz size, watermelon. Left early for honeydos.
      City: sacto

Tips: Turnover just not happening, just like the salmon run. Try up the north for numbers of bass. Early is the name of the game if weather does not change. good fishing , jimbo

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Got a late start, but that was was well ok because my best fishing partner and "SPONSER" came along with me!! My girlfriend!

well we went out fishing for my birthday. i usually run out to the delta, but with my lady fishing with me i wanted to beable to fish and enjoy her company versus fighting the wind and current. Luckily we came out to sonoma because one of my batteries craped out on me. i ended running back to one of the coves and switching the cables around. i just ran off one battery all day, glad it worked.
i saw a few people drop shotting points, ridges, underwater tree lines and humps. but i also saw a few up close too. many trout trollers on the main lake.
i fished from 1130am till 430pm.We got three keeper bass up to 2 pounds, missed a few and one bluegill. The fish we caught were shallow and We got them swimming a jig. The hits were not harsh. They would pick it up and just swim off.
The bluegills were in the back of the coves and creeks. Look for grass that is still green. I saw a guy fly fishing, but for us those good ole flee flies worked great.
Not only was this a pretty enjoyable day due to the weather, me not being at work and my girlfriend putting time on the water WITH A POLE IN HER HAND. She also drive me around in the boat in the Monark.
I CAN NOT WAIT TILL SHE LAUNCHES THE BOAT FOR ME AND TOWS US UP TO THE LAKE AND BACK!!...
      City: San Francisco

Tips: DON'T STRESS. IF YOU NEED TO CATCH FISH IN ORDER TO ENJOY FISHING THEN DO NOT GO!! THIS IS SPORT IS CALLED FISHING NOT CATCHING!!

Report: I went out with Randy Pringle to chase some stripers. We had a great morning using topwaters, swimbaits and roadrunners. We pulled up to our first spot and on the first cast we had a blow up, followed it up with a swimbait and the fight was on. This action continued for two and half hours in this one spot. We had over 20 blow ups with 10 keeper stripers ranging in size from 10-lbs to 15-lbs. We also had three double hook ups. We took a few pictures, kept a couple and decided to go chase small and large mouth bass for the rest of the day. Everytime I go fishing with Randy I learn a few more things. This man knows the Delta and where to find the fish. It was an awesome day.
      City: Suisun

Tips: The only adive I can give is to have a follow-up bait ready to throw if they miss the topwater.

Report: Launched out of Whiskey with Friend Mike @ 2:00 with beautiful fall weather. Started off a bit slow for us, but soon got into some striper action. Cought 18-22 stripers(altogether) on topwater (mostly), rat-L-traps and rip baits. Only 1 over 18in. out of those, but they were fun. Got a 6-9oz. largemouth on a large rip bait, hit it almost right at the boat in calm, flat water on a point 12 feet of water. That made my day. Also got a largie that had what looked like leaches on it. Never saw that before.
Finished of at dark on a school of small stripers, but mosquitos chased us to the ramp.
      Awesome Day!

Report: Hey Guys, Had a great day on the Delta! The bite was on fire for me. Lot's of solid keeper fish. Along with some dinks. But all fun. Five best, going 25 and some change. All fish came cranking. Never even had to throw or toss a plastic. Casting had to be accurate. Excellent day on the river!
      City: Turlock

Tips: All fish came shallow. Cranking tight to cover a must. Tight lines to all and good luck.
