      Report: The lake was unbelieveable this morning. It was dead calm and the water was like glass. There were only a handfull of boats and most of those were fishing. The fish were biting around the weeds on roboworms and senkos. I caught 6 small ones and lost about that many in the 2 1/2 hours I was there.

      Report: Fished a club tournament today out of Paradise Point. My partner and I spent the day fishing from Columbia Cut to the bottom of Mildred. We caught a lot of fish (20+) but never found a kicker. Our best five went 4 1/2, 3, 2, 2, 1 1/2 for a 13 pound total. It was good for 5th out of 20 boats.

      Our first two quality fish (the 4 1/2 and 3) came on a Snagproof frog in the yellow headed blackbird color. They hit right next to some thick scum. The rest of our fish came on Senkos, jigs, Florida-rigged craws, chatterbaits and buzzbaits. We could catch fish on almost every flip by flipping little pockets in scum next to tules but they were all small so we switched to the outside of weed lines where we culled out all the little 1 pounders from earlier. We spent way too much time fishing shallow slop.

      It took 18 1/2 pounds to win the event. Second was another 18+ weight and then it fell off fast. The winner had a nice 8.7# kicker. Second place had real nice average fish and got beat by the lucky kicker...sounds like Texas Hold'em poker, huh?

      Tips: 1) Our three best fish came on buzzbait in open water (1 fish), frog right next to the outside edge of scum (2 fish), chatterbait over top outside edge of weedline (1 fish) Florida-rigged craw on the outside weedline. So, if I was to draw any conclusion it was that the better fish are holding on the outside edge of weedlines or scum just inside the shade line.

      Report: Another picture perfect day on the lake, little or no wind and not too much pressure even with a decent sized tournament being held. I took 11 fish all day mainly drop shotting. My best 5 went 16lbs with the largest coming in just over 4lbs. I again had fun with the LV 100 on light line and had a HUGE fish come unbuttoned near Buckingham.

      Report: Fished from 8pm to 3:30am and had some really good fishing. Fished the 5mph area and caught fish between 15-30 feet deep. The larger fish (3 and 4 lbs) were caught around 20-25 deep. We used jigs and brush hogs to catch around 15 fish. The smallest fish was 2lbs and the largest being 4lbs. Had fun and learned a lot about the lake.

      Tips: Brown jigs with Yamamoto single tail trailers in watermelon red or green pumpkin with black flakes. Also try brush hogs in watermelon red or green pumpkin with black flakes. Super slow and the bite s very light. Good luck!

      Report: Seems like the summer jig bite has slowed, especially for nice fish. Fished the east shore from 7am-12noon, only two small fish, and those were real tentative bites.Very similar to two weeks ago in the 5mph area. The fisherman who reported on night fishing must have the right idea...

      Tips: I only fished jigs, though I covered a lot of colors and depths...someone throwing other types of lures may have had much better results...

      Report: went out of rattle snake at about 6:00am! Went to a place that my buddie knows and got about 4 spook fish in the first 20mins! Picked up a worm and went to some structer on the main lake that my buddie also knows about and got 4 fish there! The biggest fish of the day was caught durring this time! 2.64 pounds! And It was a largemouth! went up the north fork and caught another 3! Off the water at 3:00pm due to all the drunk water skiers and boats!

      Tips: Keep on the fish! Dont give up! Work hard for your bites! It makes caughing the fish feel good! through everything at them until you figure them out!

      Report: Out this morning at around 8 AM, no topwater fish like I have been getting the last 2 weeks in the North Fork. Dropshotted and dartheaded a limit around Anderson Island for about 8 1/2 lbs. No real news here other than it is tough with the full/waning moon and no real weather moving thru to stir the lake up. Lots of fish suspended in 25-30 ft. over 70 ft. of water chasing shad schools and trout. Only caught one Spotted Bass and one smallie in the last month of trips, the rest have been largemouths up fairly shallow on topwater. Check it out agian tomorrow.

      Tips: Keep moving, the fish are and you need to keep up with them. Dropshot & dartheads in the deeper water with topwater in the morning.

      Report: Got on the water about 9am, found big school of blacks and smallies off rock point in 28-32' of water. Picked up 14 immediately drop shotting reaction innovation flirts in "Spanish Fly" color. Multiple double hook-ups. worked over to another high verticle bank and found large groups in 12-18'. Largest fish of the day was a 4# smallmouth. Most fish running 1-2.5lbs. Never worked any other baits as we spanked em with the drop shot. Left about 2:30, total of 37 fish. *** Warning*** the fishing was really good, not "Red Hot" but very good. If you are willing to go, be prepared for your boat to be covered in dirt from the 8-10 miles of dirt road taking you to the lake. Took me 2.5hrs to clean up my Ranger. Speed limit on the lake is 10mph. Best thing about it all is that there was only 2 other boats out and one was a friend of mine.

      Tips: We found that letting the drop shots fall to about 15-20' in the 30' water picked up the suspended fish really good. All the fish are coughing up small shad. Launch fee is $5.50 Other colors may work well, but I've found the "Spanish Fly" works the best at all lakes that I've been to.

      Report: Went out for a little fun fishing for some stripers. Found A few good boils threw top water,fluckes, and swim baits with no takers. Switched to 1oz. black and silver jig and fish on.

      Tips: Chase the boils then watch your fish finder to see what depth the fish are holding and drop your jig right into them and hold on.

      Report: Nice day on Anderson after laying off for the entire summer due to the excessive ski boat traffic and the reservation and extra fee requirement. Caught 15 LMB in about 25ft off steep structure. Thought it would be a drop shot day. Only got 2 on drop shot with the rest coming on carolina brushhog and splitshot Power Hawg. Talked to others that were having luck with hula grubs. Tried crank and other baits shallow but no luck.

      Tips: Start with what you think will put fish in the boat but don't fall in love with that bait if it is not producing (like I do regularly). Try soft plastics in 25 ft off banks or structure with a fast drop into deep water.

      Report: started fishing 6am at the s/w end in the jungle and picked up 7 bass around 1/2-2lbs.only thing they were hitting was patty's real worms.tried all the plastics and everything but the anchor but when it was all said and done at 2pm the worm's got top choice this time.

      Tips: fish are in close to bank's.try plasic crowlers with small spinner just above hook.it seems to work 95% of the time .we fish this lake year round as it's only 15 min.from home.good luck and see you on the water.

      Report: We headed out first to try get a some topwater action that failed horribly. As the sun came up we switched to senkos and jigs which got us sporadic action but no big ones. We ended up with 25 bass with the best 5 only going 12.5-13 pounds

      Report: Wife and I had a very nice day on the lake. We launched at about 11AM and fished until about 6PM. We caught 18 bass a few nice sized crappie and one bluegill (all released). Our best 5 bass went about 12lbs. Drop shot and crankbaits caught all the fish today. I downsized today, throwing an LV 100 on light line and had a blast, the majority of our fish were caught using this setup.

      Report: Fished a couple of hours on Saturday afternoon from about 2:30pm to maybe 5:30 or 6:00pm. Headed straight for the dikes tossing cranks and a suspending jerkbait. The jerkbait was the ticket with lots of dinks but also a solid 4lb spot and a 2.5lb largemouth for my best fish. Tons of chasers but all of these were very small fish.

      Went out again Sunday morning with no luck. Fished from about 8:00 - 10:00am using the same jerkbait.

      Tips: If tossing a jerkbait, don't forget to pause the bait on a slack line. Majority of hits I got were on the pause.

      Report: Headed out to Frank's Tract for a day of fishing. We threw cranks, buzzbaits, jigs,. and senkos for a best five of 22 pounds. The largest three were 6.3, 6, and 5.

      Report: I had another "double duty" day (24 hr day!) yesterday. I started early helping 2 good fishermen tune up their fish location skills - showing them some new areas for their repetoire of fishing spots. The bite started off slow around Rattlesnake and I noticed the carp slept in too. Not much morning activity! We worked our way up to Soda Bay and and did manage 15 nice bass up to 4 lbs 10 oz - about 17 lbs for our best five. I can't say much more since they are fishing a tournament sometime, but I will say the jig bite is "on" again in my boat! The jig (brown/orange) produced most of the biggest bass. After a nap and some dinner, my "second wave" clients (two great guys from the Folsom Bass Club) and I hit the water around 6:30 pm and wet our lines at Anderson island to get out of the strong wind. I knew a cold front was moving in and really worried about the wind. After catching some "dusk' bass, we prepared for night fishing and look for areas to get out of the wind. Lo and behold, the wind totally laid down about an hour after dark and the fishing turned on, almost like the 'ol days! We fished some of my favorite areas in Konocti Bay up to Brados and all the way back to the Oaks. The bass were active and shallow though bigger ones were hiding in shadows. We lost our share of bass but did put 31 quality bass (3 to 3 1/4 lb average) in the boat plus some undersize ones. One of the guys had a fat 5 lb 5 oz bass and I landed one slightly larger in 3 feet of water under a dock (shadow)! It was interesting how some areas were "on" and some were "off". A lot of that is timing, of course. We had a nice five fish limit near 23 lbs and a beautiful full moon - though dimmed somewhat by smoke. That might have actually helped the bite. I was surprised how good the "open water" bite was since the lake has cleared some. Many times the open areas (rockpiles, etc.) are slow during the full moon periods when the lake is clearer. For some reason that wasn't the case last night.

      Tips: Since my clients were "self contained", I wasn't sure what they were using all the time. At night we were using mostly plastics - 10" Power Worms, large brush hogs - that type of thing. I did break out my remaining black/chartreuse 10" Power Worms (they arn't made anymore) and the bass were glad I did. They were all over them! I used a #135 6" Senko and it produced some nice "piling bass". My cients would change baits and colors a lot - always staying "in the zone". They caught most of the bass - especially the "guy in the middle" who sometimes struggles. They both were great fishermen - fun to see guys landing those "noisy night bass"!!! We were hooking bass in 3 to 4 feet of water in many spots. Is it too early for the fall feed??

      Report: Launched from Brown's and immediately went up the south fork. We got to our first spot and began to throw the 1/2 ounce White on White Voo-Doo in 25 feet of water for one fish @ 1.66 lb. We then eventually made our way to the flats in the south and began to throw the LA slider rainbow trout pattern swim bait for one fish @4.59 lb. After that we went up the north fork where we got 6 more fish on the Voo-Doo up to 1.97 lb. Off the water after about 2 hours of fishing with around 9 pounds for the best five. All but one of our fish came of the white 1/2 ounce Voo-Doo.

      Tips: Do your self a favor and check out the Voo-Doo lure @fishinmagiciantackle.com Chris will help you pic the colors best suit for your needs. And from my understanding he just produced a new lavender shad color Voo-Doo. Man I am excited to try that one at Clear Lake.

      Report: Well, as Larry stated below, fishing has slowed down a bit. The water has cleared a lot and days were a little cooler. We did not catch as many as two weeks ago. Biggest 4.8 lb. Wife lost one same size. She got lazy and did not retie knot later into the day. She broke off while she tried to prevent fish from wrapping around a dock post. What fun! We caught a few smaller 4 lbers and some nice 3 pounders too. Stuck to fishing the docks from 10 am to 3 pm. Some fish on top of the break. Most fish on the break or just below break.

      Night fishing was fair. Started out slow. Once the moon was high, fishing turned on. We could not get the cranks to work for some reason. They would only hit a spinnerbait. We only had a few black spinnerbaits and they destroyed them. I really was not prepared with my night spinnerbaits . We both lost bigger fish at the boat, due to our fishing line and spinnerbaits not up to par (that won't happen next time, hehe). Best fishing was 12 to 2 pm. Bite was steady thru 2 pm, but we had to leave to get some sleep for the next day.

      Tips: Stick to the shade during the day as usual, if using worms stick to 6" and 7" for a little bigger bite. Have the 3/0 trailer hook for the night spinnerbait and nothing smaller.
