      Water Temp: 54-56

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Moved around a lot, fished warm srings/dry creek. Fished b-hawgs, senko's, jigs in a.m. Got one 2lb'er on a jig near yorty...saw some bait jumping in warm springs, tossed the kitchen sink at 'em (staysees, small cranks, etc), but no go. Hopefully the reaction bite'll turn on here pretty soon. Nice to see some sun, huh?
      City: San Anselmo

Tips: Lots of fish suspending near shallows on finder, staging up. Give it a few more days of warmer weather, and things should be notchin' up.

Water Temp: Wow! it got up

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: The last couple of trips have been a little(a lot) tough. The fish are definately shallow. The days are getting longer and they know it's time to start doing that sex thing except that it's way too cold. Imagine takin your sweety out on the lawn with only a sheet in the pouring rain. You might be ready, but she ain't havin no part of that. That's what's happening on Trinity right now. The fish moved off the deep rock piles into the shallows right on schedule based on the length of the day, but the lake is still way too cold. Right now they are munching bugs off the newly flooded terrain just waiting for a little sunshine to heat that sheet up. Unlike most natural lakes where the warmest water is found in the Northwest part of the lake, The South end of Trinity warms up quicker than the the North end because of less influx of snowmelt. I'll be fishing the south end for the next few days, and I'll let you know if there's a significant improvement in the water temp.
By the way, the next Jason Fisher Memorial Tournament is this coming Sunday, the 23rd. I have had a lot of requests by Dads to bring their kids as well as their partners, so for this tourny I am allowing 3 members per team as long as the third member is under 15. Let's get those kids hooked on fishing. Sign-ups are at the Yellow Jacket starting at 4:00AM and I expect to start Blast-off shortly after 6:00. The Yellow Jacket is offering a super Breakfast Buffet so get there early enough to give it a try. Any questions about the tourny, give me a call @ 530-623-4352.
      City: Weaverville

Tips: O.K. The last couple of trips have produced Trinity Dinks but they were Shasta Hogs!

      Water Temp: 57

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Everything seems to be working, but I had really good success just walking the bank in the south end throwing brush hogs. A rattletrap also produced lots of smaller fish. Go barbless, the hookset is easier, and a snap releasing the fish without a huge hole in it's mouth. Spawning fish are producing our future catch's! Everyone I saw or talked to were catching fish!
      City: San Jose

Tips: Just get out! Weather is beautiful, no ticks on the shorline yet, but be prepared for mud. Pack out your trash please!

Report: Well, at this lake being shallow for the most part many spawners are there and more than ready to hit. Every presentation seems to be working. Please catch and gently release. Hugs & kisses, James.

Tips: 15 feet or less, shallow flats, carolina-rigs most consistent for me although reaction baits are producing as well. Please catch & release.

      Water Temp: 57 to 59

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Well senko's are the top choice here for bass to 4 pounds and they are shallow and on beds now watermelon red/black flake and junebug are good colors to throw now wacky worm or texas rig it dosent matter. Blades are also a good choice gold and silver combo willow leaf in char and white or char/blue in 3/8 oz work in 3 to 8 feet of water. 5mph area and also the east side or camper side of the lake are hold nice bass in the coves and on flats in shallow water. Traffic is lite on weekdays and heavier on weekends. Jig fishing is on but my choice is senko's the bite is on and you cant lose on throwin this bait. Lizards and brushogs are good also.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished 5 days, 4/17-4/21, with two other boats. Made a little tourney out of it (best 5 per day). Ended up with 43lbs. 7oz. total. Spent most of the time in the Squaw and Pit. Absolutely slayed them probably averaging 50+ fish per day, but most fish were right around 1 lb. Biggest went 2 lb. 11 oz. Only 5 fish over 2 lbs. out of the hundreds landed....any tips from locals on how to get to the bigger fish?

I started drop shotting with 6" shad color or morning dawn purple robos, and I ended drop shotting with 6" robos. In between that I was drop shotting robos. Maybe that was my problem, but I was getting so much action that I didn't want to miss anything. Mainly fished points, stumps, and rock walls. Most fish came 15'-40'.

One evening I decided to throw a crawdad patterned crankbait a few times....no bass, but landed a 1 lb. 8 oz. trout....this lake is amazing.

Anyway, any tips on how to find the bigger fish whether it's baits, technique, or location would be very much appreciated.

Tips: Drop shot if you want lot's of action. Long patient retrievals....picked up a lot of fish really deep.

Report: The lake got cold and muddy once again from the recent rain. I got 2 bites all day one fish in the boat about 2.5 and one got off at the boat. Nothing for me seem to work except crankin.

Tips: smack the bottome with your crank bait. I was thowing a DT 10' in 9 foot of water bouning it on the bottom to get my fish.

Hit Cachuma Bay along wals with drop-shot and FX People Worm. Hit on 4th cast and a nice 3 pounder. Trolled along wall in Bay and hit another smaller Large then 2 smallies. Tossed a craw colered crank and picked up three more smallies. Slowed down so headed towards E-Point -- Still slow and only one smallie, Hit Clark Canyon area with nothing to show. Weather deteriorating at about 11:30 and headed towards Santa Cruz Point. Two more smallies but no big mouths. Light sprinkle and skies dark towards santa Ynez -- Headed in.
