Clear Lake
-
Water Temp: 50's
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Fished Clear Lake Sunday, the reports from this site were dead on know one wants to give up info. Started fishing after that tournament blasted off. Fished for hours on the north had a few small fish no bragging rights. About noon I saw this guy on a pontoon boat sticking fish after fish, I trolled up to him and asked what's the deal. He threw me a few bags of Robo Worms (Oxblood) told me to fish along side him. We targeted 8 to 10 feet of water on the edges and I started sticking some better fish. The first one I nailed was a three not bad and within 20 minutes between us we stuck 13 fish up to 4 lbs. He also showed me this dart head called a spot remover, he had a 6" trick worm on it Watermelon Cotton Candy, it worked as good as the drop shot.
City: ConcordTips: Robo worms in 6" and Trick worms. Stay in the 8 foot range. Hey Thanks for the tips and the worms the guy in the boat was the owner of Tackle It "Ed". I got about 40 fish Sunday.

Almanor Lake
-
Water Temp: 34.2
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Dont worry about fishing this lake for another month. The snow berms are eye level off the road and its real cold. The trout fishing is real bad if you were wondering about that.

Berryessa Lake

Water Temp: 52
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Had a great day. Windy, cold , rain but the fish were bitting. Had 10 before 9:00 am. Tried everything early then decided to go with something that worked years ago for me here. A Roland Martin Helicopter in white. Stuck a 4lb right off the bat in the Vineyards, then worked my way up the north bank. Boom, a 7lbr, boom another 4lber then Boom a 9lbr. Ended the day with 25+ fish on the Ol' Helicopter, all biggins over 2lbs each. Best five went 26 lbs. Have fun, don't forget to try something different that you have not done in awhile, sure worked for me.

Eastman Lake

Water Temp: 53 to 55
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Well the bass here are still in the shallows and brushogs and senko's and jigs are still taking most of the bass to 4 pounds. This weekends storms didnt keep the bass from hitting and it not to hard to put together a pattern to catch them.Right now it rock piles and flats brush piles and around trees take your pick it pretty wide open now and will stay that way till after the spawn. carloina rig brushogs and even lizards in junebug or watermelon red/black flake work well. Also lite green pumpkin jigs in 1/4 or 3/8 football head with a yamamoto single tail watermelon red/black flake grub works well also. traffic has been on the lite side because of the weather.
City: kerman ca.Tips: More storm are on the way so keep and eye on the day with sunshine and fish areas that are close to deeper water east bank from ranger station to east ramp is a very good area right now. Good luck and any questions e mail me at markinman50@aol.com

Barrett Lake

Water Temp: ?
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: The overall report about the lake level posted above is years old and inaccurate. Last year the lake went way up due to heavy rains in San Diego, as well as most other lakes down here, and recent rains might help keep it at the 75% it's been hoover at.
Detailed info and updates on lake levels on my site, link on left side.

Hardly enough to get a check. Clear in the a.m. rained / Hailed as the day progressed. None of those hogs the earlier postings mentioned.
City: PacificaTips: None to offer....... we didn't figure them out. Stopped by Spanish flat and Ramp was usable but picnic grounds in immediate area 1/2 under water.... Hope it clears up some before Saturday. Good luck out there!

Had to stop at Steels to get breakfast and warm up A little.Sure wish we could have some SUN SHINE!!! Best five 11lbs.Fishing was slow for Berryessa this time of year.

Calero Reservoir

Water Temp: 50
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Very slow day. Started shallow with rip baits and rattletraps but no takers. Backed out to the creek channels with tubes, still nothing. Moved to main lake points and started hooking up in 10-20 feet with tubes and zipper grubs. Caught 6 total, 2lbs biggest. It was damn cold, it snowed on the mountains and rain off and on all day, but it's always good to go fishing.

California Delta
-
Water Temp: 62-70
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Put in at New Hope and ran to Sycamore. Fished for three hours and got 2 on a jig and 1 on a drop shot to 2 lbs. Also tried pitching a Senko and Sour Puss for nothing. Tried cranking weed flats and tossed a frog for a little. Temp just inside the mouth of the slough is 65. As I got further in it reached 70, probably should have went in furhter to start.
City: Elk GroveTips: Can't offer much, not a lot of experience on the Delta so 3 hours was hard for me to pattern anything but I suspect temp may matter in the sloughs.
-
Water Temp: 52
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: I normally don't like reporting crummy days, but it sounds like I was not alone. Cold and windy all day with only one 2# fish. Fished Diso Bay and Orwood Area using jigs, senko, and crankbait. Only managed to get one on the crankbait and it was caught around grass in 5-10' of water and no wind. She was feeding because she caughed out a big craw.
City: SacramentoTips: The water temp dropped. Cover water with a crankbait and then work slow in the same areas with a jig or senko.

Collins Lake
-
Water Temp: cold
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: In a shocker, this mornin at Collins the snow came down in buckets. Naturally this slowed the bite but using power bait on a drop shot rig still brought in a few fish near the dam.
City: SacramentoTips: Dress really warm unless you want to lose some limbs.

McClure Lake
-
Water Temp: 50
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: I fished the lake all weekend. Saturday morning it actually snowed it was so cold we were only out on the lake for about an hour I caught 1 trout thats it. On Sunday we went back to the lake and caught 17 Bass. The first bass was the biggest weighing close to 5lbs the others all averaged around 1 1/2 to 3lbs. It was windy all day long we found some coves that blocked the wind and used grubs and worked them really slow.
we also used live crawdads.
City: turlockTips: If you dont have a 2 pole stamp go get one.
I use one rod that has a grub on it and another rod with either a live crawdad or minow.
you guys can email me anytime for info and pictures

Merced Lake

Water Temp: cold
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Went back to fish North Lake today. Stayed from 10:30am to 12:30pm. Fished a blue/black 3/8 oz jig with a YUM pumpkin green wooly hawg trailer, flipping the edges of the tules from the West lake entrance to the long pier. Tried deadsticking the jig along the backside of the pier right in the thick of the tules and dropping the jig into each little "hole" in the tule wall.
No bites or bumps or anything.
Weather is still very cold (low forties) and it rained off and on. I'll be out of town on business next week, but will try to fish at Merced next weekend.
