Water Temp: cold
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Fished Impound for about 1 hour. Used a 3/8 oz black/blue jig with a Yum wooly hawg trailer. Pitched and slowly dragged through the grass and flats near tules. Didn't get hit,bit or bumped... but met Jason (Jaybizzle) and his pal Ali. I am happy to read of J's success today. I'm going to head out there again at least 1 more time this weekend. Stay tuned and don't touch that dial...

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: went to go fish merced for a few hours today not expecting much cause of the weather but boy was i wrong!!!! saw mike ashton fishing the impound stoped and talked for a minute nice guy. ended up with one bass about 2 pounds off of a cut tail senko. and another that went for at least 10# probly more but i didnt have a scale and i didnt want to kill the fish so after a few pic i let him go. that fish was my all time best bass for merced!!! both fish were caught from the south lake deadsticking plastics. the 10# was fat as can be prespawn female. wow i still cant believe it. what made it nuch more exciting for me was that i was using 4# test in the tules with an ultra light set up. WHAT A FIGHT!!!!!!!! WHAT A RUSH!!!!
City: pacificaTips: fish are suspended against the tules in 4 to 8 feet of water. <*){{}}><

Pardee Lake
-
Water Temp: 52
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Well, somebody has to post reports for Pardee, so it might as well be me. If you want to know about largemouth, just ask me!! I can't seem to dial in the smallies recently, but the largemouth are just fine. The lake was up about 7 feet since my last report and full of debris - not quite full - but close. I fished a variety of baits but the jig worked best. I missed my first three bites but landed the next four bites which weighed about 17 lbs, all largemouth up to 5 lbs 10 oz. The fish I caught were all on off-shore structure - two in the main body on a new island-top I discovered and two in the river arm. Brown/orange Rodstrainer jigs did the trick. I found them from 20 to 30 feet deep.
City: Yuba CityTips: I wanted to open up my new Evinrude E-Tec HO with a new 3 blade prop, but it was a little dangerous with floating wood. Boy, what a ride while it lasted! I think my days with a 4 blade are over. I saw no sign of shallow bass. I did some shoreline cranking to no avail. My last report mentioned the bass we inhaling the jig. Yesterday I could hardly get them to take it and they were all lip hooked. I guess one storm too many!!!

California Delta
-
Water Temp: 53-54
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: 2 of us fished Hog and Sycamore after the storm from 6:30A-2:00P. My buddy had 1 bite for the day. I had 4 bites and hooked 3 fished (2 stripers [7-8 lbs each] and 1 catfish (2 lbs) on 3/4 oz Rat L Traps. Saw 2-3 boats in each slough but no seemed to be catching any bass. Saw a sea lion in hog that was having fun catching and eating the tail end of several catfish since we saw front halves swimming around.
City: DixonTips: We threw Rat L Traps, spinnerbaits, and senkos. The storm and full moon turned off the bite. Will try again next week.

Contra Loma Lake
-
Water Temp: Probably low 50
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: I did a little hog hunting today and it paid off. I hit the lake at about 2:45 PM with just a Huddleston swimbait and a big jig n pig. I started fishing the east side on the rocks but had no success. I headed down south towards the boat ramp a little ways. I fished the jig and swimbait on the transition point from rocks to sand and missed one bit on the jig. I continued to pitch and flip my jig in the tules whiled heading towards the boat ramp, but didn't get touched. I came to the big tree on the east side and pitched the jig around the tules, but still nothing. I decided to try a little deeper and pitched my 1/2oz Black Skinny Bear Grizz Flippin Jig w/ 3.5" Black/Blue Super Pork Senior Frog past and between a little tule point and sparse tule clump. I hopped that jig a few times, felt a subtle bite and weight, and set the hook. I knew right away it was a good fish as she headed straight for the tules. After a brief, but healthy and heart-pounding battle, I managed to land my biggest bass to date at 8lbs. 8oz. Just barely beating my prevoius personal best of 8lbs. 6oz. that I caught almost three years ago at Loma on a buzzbait. She was extremely healthy and full of eggs--a beautiful fish. I caught her at about 4:15 PM,but didn't catch anything else after that. I left at 5:30 PM.
City: AntiochTips: From my results today and talking to others, it seems the fish are starting to stage and move up shallower. My big girl today was only in about 4-5 feet of water, but wasn't way up in the shallow stuff. I didnt' get any bites really shallow. I would recommend to target a little deeper water on the outside of tules with a big jig or plastics.

Water Temp: still a bit col
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Went out 2 days ago and as usual, did ok when it rained and the wind howled. This time fought the wind in my tube. 2 bass over 3 lbs. hit buzzbaits off the dam. Saw stripers schooling trout on my fish finder. And yes, there are BIG fish here. Got a 28 lb. striper in October that swallowed a swimbait and largemouth 11.4 lbs on a huge senko and trout to 13 lbs. I ALWAYS manage trout over 5 lbs. throwing big bass lures.
City: AntiochTips: One thing I've learned in 4 years fishing Contra loma (avg. 3 days a week) is don't be affraid to throw big baits. I have caught a lot of great bass drop shotting, but I have forced myself to get fewer bites and take only larger fish on large baits. My favorite are rainbow trout and bluegill swimbaits and 10" and 12" plastic worms. Right now is actually a great time to hook a larger bass on a shad pattern crankbait also.

Report: Congratulations are in order for wade chapman of madera ca. on his lake record 16.01 pound bass caught last week here. the weather here the rest of the week could produce some nice bass in the shallows. The 5mph area and also eastside of the lake from the major points under the ranger station to the east ramp are all good areas to fish.AGAIN WADE VERY NICE FISH A CATCH OF A LIFE TIME.

McClure Lake
-
Water Temp: 51-53
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Visited a buddy of mine that lives in Placerville... We made the drive down to the foothills and fished McClure from 830am-6pm. Between the two of us caught 8 bass and 1 trout. I was fishing cranks all day (Rebel Craw and shad), and my buddy was fishing dart and drop shot from about 20-40ft. I caught 2 bass including the big fish of the day that weighed in at 2lbs 9oz... Caught big one just inside White's Gulch on Eastern Arm at about 12-15ft... We caught most of fish in the East Arm with a few off the main lake in the West... Most fish caught drop shotting or darts around 30ft. All in all it was a decent day...Mid 50s in the afternoon and off and on sun... I would think that Eastern Arm of the lake will pick up immensely in a few weeks when the fish move a little bit more shallow. I would say our biggest 5 weighed in at 9-10lbs...
City: Kansas CityTips: Crank baits slow retrieve (deep divers) Best bet is deep fishing darts or drop shotting around 20-40ft...

Report: Just an update on the tourney the 18th. I took a look at the ramp today and it's clear. Although the weather for the next couple of days doesn't look good, the snow levels seem to above the problem level, so for now the tourney is on. If we get significant snow, and launching is a problem I will post as soon as possible, and will e-mail or call every one who has been in touch. Pray for rain.

Report: First time on this lake in awhile and getting ready for this weekends tourney. It was dead slow in the morning. Tried just about everything. I then remembered the report I read before I left in the morning. took the advice and busted out the Flying Lures. It's been awhile, but there they were in the bottom of the last storage spot on the 1987 Ranger. Spalt a 5lbr, splat a 4lbr then nothing during the hail storm. Found the "Tornado," a spinnerbait with a different kind of blade in the same box. I used it and never looked back. had 30 in the boat by noon. best five went around 28lbs. Forget about Amestad, Berryessa kicks butt!!! Told a guy at the ramp about my amazing day and he told me he did well with his Pocket Fisherman too, he stroked them. remember to think outside the box, you never know.

Report: Took your advice Mike (report below) and busted out my Hula Poppers. The skirts were stuck together, but it was the spitting action that drew the strikes. Best five went 22lbs- I can't continue. Sorry Tony, I'm in town for the Future Pro here and a couple of my buddies were looking for some intel when I saw this post.

Water Temp: 50's
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Fished Clear Lake Sunday, the reports from this site were dead on know one wants to give up info. Started fishing after that tournament blasted off. Fished for hours on the north had a few small fish no bragging rights. About noon I saw this guy on a pontoon boat sticking fish after fish, I trolled up to him and asked what's the deal. He threw me a few bags of Robo Worms (Oxblood) told me to fish along side him. We targeted 8 to 10 feet of water on the edges and I started sticking some better fish. The first one I nailed was a three not bad and within 20 minutes between us we stuck 13 fish up to 4 lbs. He also showed me this dart head called a spot remover, he had a 6" trick worm on it Watermelon Cotton Candy, it worked as good as the drop shot.
City: ConcordTips: Robo worms in 6" and Trick worms. Stay in the 8 foot range. Hey Thanks for the tips and the worms the guy in the boat was the owner of Tackle It "Ed". I got about 40 fish Sunday.

Report: Had a great day. Windy, cold , rain but the fish were bitting. Had 10 before 9:00 am. Tried everything early then decided to go with something that worked years ago for me here. A Roland Martin Helicopter in white. Stuck a 4lb right off the bat in the Vineyards, then worked my way up the north bank. Boom, a 7lbr, boom another 4lber then Boom a 9lbr. Ended the day with 25+ fish on the Ol' Helicopter, all biggins over 2lbs each. Best five went 26 lbs. Have fun, don't forget to try something different that you have not done in awhile, sure worked for me.
