Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Got on the lake at 3:30 and there were tons of boats out so I did't have expectations of catching much. I found a small main lake hump that was 21 ft deep surrounded by 38ft deep water. I threw out a marker and started drop shotting around the marker. Boats were coming by within 30 yrds on my left and right and I was rocked by the wake. In spite of that I caught 9 bass within 10 feet of the marker in a little over an hour. It was a very small area. 15 ft left or right in deeper water and not a bite. I could have kept catching them but wanted to see what else they would hit. I moved off the spot and started throwing along the shore with a carolina brush hog and a texas rigged worm. Caught 6 more real nice fish for a total of 15 up to 3 lbs. Off the water at 7:00 I felt pretty good considering the boat traffic, mid PM, and blue sky.
      City: Foster City

Tips: Find main lake structure surrounded by deep water that boat waves wash over. Look for fish on the electronics. Even if you don't see any start with a drop shot rig followed by a carolina rig working the top and drop off to locate the fish. The boat waves turn on the bite. I found a 4" perch sticking out of the gut of one bass. These areas are big time feeding areas in the summer if you can find them and can stand the boat traffic.

      Water Temp: 74

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Same club event as capt jack. Fished northern dead end sloughs. Couldn't get to my bb because of strippers everywhere. I had a blast with my super spook. Must have caught 15 to 20 keepers, all around 22 inch size. Tried to crank below them no luck, buzz bait more strippers. Only worms and seinkos moved slow enough to get through so we caught 12 small bass 2 nice keepers. What a blast catching those strippers. My partner bonner was getting frustrated cause he needed the points. We tried to find my pre fish bb but strippers were just to thick to get em.What a difference from a week day to a weekend. Must have had min 12 to 15 lbs each time I pre fished same spot.
      City: orangevale

Tips: Keep a swim bait rod on the deck this time of year. Strippers are more fun so I'm gearing up for strippers until the water hit 50 degrees. On a normal bb trip you can top water early crank and worm afternoons. Dead ringer worms texas rigged watermellon red flake been real good.Same color brush hogs.Best time of the year comin up hang on to that rod.

      Water Temp: 69-71

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: The water temp is dropping, but the bass are still hiding. I had a small club out of Pardise with Bassin Bass Masters from Loomis. Good day for fishing, had the keepers by 7:30am with White spinners and white blades. Senko but was off and so was my jigs. Sweet Beavers Texas style for some was working. My partner Dennie Howard was draging a 6 lb line with a split shot using a lizard got most of our keepers on the out side of the weeds. Crank and blades was working for others. Dennie and I finished 2 nd.

      good luck and have fun.
      City: rocklin

Tips: fish alone the rocks and moving water, inside the tules on high tides. Frogs we got some blow ups and top water was slow.

      Water Temp: 74-75

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Several personal firsts on Saturday. First buzzbait fish (dink)in Disappointment. First frog fish (3.8 in fourteen mile). First catfish on a senko. The wind made fishing a senko a bit hard in the late morning and afternoon so we went to blades and topwater. It took an hour throwing the frog to get that bite and I was turned around saying something to my partner when she hit. I swung at the sound and hooked up. Next time I need to see the strike.

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: caught about 15 fish at milldred island and big break. this was my first time at either one of these spots. Seems like high tide is a must at both because of the heavey shollow weeds. caught a 4.5 on the second cast of the morning on a buzzbait. The rest of the fish came on senkos and t-rigged worms

      Water Temp: Didn't Check

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished Sat and Sun (20th/21st) with my daughter and son-in-law who were visiting from SoCal. Caught 20+ fish each day in the tules between State Park and Lakeport. Best five went approx 17lbs with no fish over 5lbs...just couldn't find a big one. Relatively new to bass angling, my daughter her husband had a blast with the consistent all-day bite. They didn't want to leave and can't wait to come back. As other fathers already know, seeing your child limit out two days in a row in their first attempt at bass fishing is PRICELESS!
      City: Santa Clara

Tips: Any green T-rigged baby brush hog worked well for us. We fished tule outer edges most of the day.

      Water Temp: 80-83

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: The Redwood Empire Bass Club held their annual all-nighter tournament Saturday night with limits all around on both days. The first day weigh in was led with 18+ pounds for 5 fish. The 2nd day we saw a nice 21+ pound sack. My partner and I took first place with a 2-day total of 36 lbs bringing in 17-lbs on day 1 and 19-lbs on day 2. Most of our fish were caught with crankbaits during the daylight hours and brush hogs after dark. Texas rig, brass & glass, the hogs with only an 1/8 oz weight to avoid getting snagged in the rocks. For more information on the club and tournament results check out our web site at www.rebc.net (results should be posted later this week)
      City: Rohnert Park

Tips: Our key areas were around rocks and along drop offs with deep water close by. Not much luck in the grassy areas or along tullys. The water was not very clear so you want to choose crankbaits in chart. or crawdad colors. You'll need to make sure the crankbait is hitting the bottom or at least the top of the grasses. After dark go shallow. Our 3 largest fish (6.1, 5.4, 4.7) all came in 8' or less and several 2-3 lb'ers in only 2-3' of water along concrete walls.

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: We fished the boat ramp and the dam without any luck. I threw a bobby's perfect frog in wild bullfrog in the back of the cove and got a blow up but I missed him. We threw out a dropshot with a bold bluegill roboworm, got a 10-11" and we lost a decent sized one. That was it for the day.
      City: antioch

      Tips: Throw dropshots and frogs.

Report: Went out sat-night was a bit surprised not run into boat traffic. I knew right then it was going to be tough. Sure enough it felt more like october.Lot's of wind from all direction's on top of having some electrical trouble made for a short night. Had lot's of short strke's just no hook up's. Water coming down still make's it just a bit tougher. Nothing like last year at this time.

      Water Temp: 77-80

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: In a word ... BRUTAL. I was out with a friend and a Guide on Friday for 6 hours ... so three of us. I landed the catch of the day with a 6 inch monster Smallie. I went back out Saturday AM (because I like pain and agony) for 5 hours. 1 LM at 1.75 lbs. Drop Shotting. Over both days I fished the main body and the N. Fork. Lice all over on Sat. - none before noon on Friday.

We tried topwater early (Spooks and Poppers) - two blow ups. Tried ripping, some cranking, but most of the time was spent drop shottind dartner heading, and split shotting shad and other natural colors, Greens, browns, pinks, etc ...

The bite is just extremely tough right not at Folsom.
      City: Auburn, CA

Tips: Pay for the gas and drive to Clear Lake ... best quote I have heard on that lake right now is "You can catch 'em on an old shoe, especially if it is in June Bug!"

Seriously, on Folsom ... EARLY and fish very, very slow at about 20 to 30 feet. Avoid the weekend for at least a few more weeks.

      Water Temp: mid 70's

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: 3 of us fished Hog and Sycamore sloughs. On the water at 6:30. Had 3 limits of bass and 3 stripers by 9:30A. Best 5 only weighed around 11+ lbs. Off the water by noon. For the day, caught over 20 keeper size bass and a lot of small ones.
      City: Dixon

Tips: Most of the bass caught on white or char/white spinnerbaits (including 2 of the stripers). Since it was high tide in the morning, fished over the weeds and the fish were there even though it was a full moon the night before.

      Water Temp: 80s

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Reguarding Rick and his earlier post. Rick, I was on Amador the same night. Left at 2:30 with only one other boat on the water, must have been you! Only got 4 fish that night, but the biggest went almost 6. All on Black Power Worms. No top water bite for us. I threw a buzz bait for over an hour.
      City: Tracy

Tips: Black Berkley Power worms. 7" and 10". Fish um down the rocks. Stop when you feel grass

      Water Temp: 80

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished full moon from about 6 pm till 3 am. Lake down about 8 feet and seems to be dropping about one foot per week. Daytime air temp was 10 degrees cooler than previous day and I think this affected the bite. I was hoping the cooler weather and wind would cool the water off enough for a frog and topwater bite. No frog bite but there was a topwater bite on with my friend catching most of these fish with a fluke cast to boils. I got one fish on a chug bug. Otherwise, fishing was pretty slow - many small (tiny) fish with only about 3 to 5 decent fish with my friend getting the biggest at 3.5 pounds about 9 pm I think on a Senko. We found fish both very shallow down to 20 feet but not very deep although we tried to 40 feet. We left around 3 am because we had gone for several hours with only one 12" fish and it was pretty cold for summer. Fishing should pick up with more stable weather. We threw crankbaits, topwater, jigs, worms, senkos, and spinnerbaits.
      City: Folsom

Tips: Move around to find the topwater areas - Rock Creek had some boils that reminded me of the stripers at New Hogan. Fish didn't really want to eat anything at night, not even senkos. We got some small fish bites on big baits but the fish couldn't get the hook and wouldn't eat the smaller baits which they could have gotten in their mouth. The next full moon is September and may offer a decent early fall bite.

Report: Went out in the evnening after work. It was pretty slow. Hooked up on one nice smallmouth and a couple bluegills before it got dark. Tried for cats after that, but no luck.
