Water Temp: 70-74
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Fished on monday15 and tuesday16. Probably one my last fishing days for the year because of school and hunting season opening. Fished white slough both days. Monday was windy and a low tide for most of the morning. Caught a couple of stripers before catching any largemouth. 12 keeper bass and a few stripers but nothing larger than 2.5lbs other than a 10lb 8oz cat. Tuesday was calmer and cloudier with some sprinkles. Nothin on topwater and it looked like it was to be a bad day, my favorite reel broke then the rod it was on broke. After that the bite turned on. Then after 30 fish in the day and being used for 2 years my favorite spinnerbait snapped in half. Other than stuff falling apart I had a decent day. Did catch a 5lb on a red shad senko. Stripers are still active and fun to catch but not there are not many keepers around.
City: stocktonTips: Senko and spinnerbait. Weedlines and tules, look for tules adjacent to deeper water. Watch for boils, stripers and largemouth are boiling together in some spots.

Report: fished yesterday the 15th. started at 7 a.m. first fish of the day was 6lb. 15ozs. on a spook ,second fish was 4lb. 2oz. also a spook. we caught 18 total keepers. best 5 went 20lbs 15 ozs. caught 3 fish cranking the rest on spooks. got off the water at 2:30 to head to the A's game.(should of stayed on the water later,i think we jinxed them) good day even though lot of wind
City: oaklandTips: spooks buzzbaits and crank baits. the fish did'nt want buzzbaits today but last week they did . with the cold front this last week the temps dropped a few degrees so the fish wern't as aggresive

Water Temp: mid 70's
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Fished Disappointment today with my cousin Gene. Caught a 4+ lb bass on the 3rd cast using a wh/char spinnerbait. In the next 20 minutes, we caught 3 more keeper size bass (2, 3, and 3 lbs). Gene was using a white spinnerbait. We caught 12 keeper size bass. Largest 5 = 16+ lbs. Off the water by noon.
City: DixonTips: Caught most of them tight in the weeds. Most of keepers caught on spinnerbait (1 on a Rat L Trap). No top water bite.

City: San FranciscoTips: Just in case bring some roboworm MMIII trust me you are going to get sick fishing for bluegil you might end-up fishing for bass, good luck and I hope this helps.

Water Temp: 82
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: The bite right now is ricockulous. I went out today for four hours and had over 40 fish. I tried flipping and cranking and throwing frogs. None on the frogs today, however yesterday morning I had nineteen blowups and landed twelve to 6.2 pounds with two other 5's before 7 a.m. Once the sun comes up it slows down quick if your not around docks or mats. The evening topwater bite hasn't happened for me. Flipping brushhogs was getting fish pretty much everywhere I tried, docks or tules. However, the bigger fish seemed to come from the docks. Cranking a speed trap accounted for about twenty of my fish today but they were mostly under 1.5.
City: Lower LakeTips: For the larger fish, flip slow with a light weight with brush hogs and beavers in dark colors.

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: can some one tell me if clear lake is a good bluegill or crappie lake and if so what to use for bait and were would be a good spot to try im going out this weekend thank you.

Water Temp: 78 to 80
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: I guide full time on Clear Lake and live in Nice on the upper end of the Lake. I would rate the fishing the best I have seen it in the seven years I have been fishing the lake. Every year my brother comes out for two weeks in August and we fish everyday. I take no trips but him during that time. This past week we were able to catch a 11.9oz, a 10lber two over six lbs, three over 5lbs and 270 other fish from 1lb up to five pounds. See the pictures on www.fishclearlake.com. Most of my customers are at the novice level and I normally concentrate on drop shotting at this time of the year. The drop shot bite is un real. I have had customers, two people fishing, (not me) and they caught 80 fish in four hours. The crankbait bite is hot, spinnerbaits are working and the drop shot bite is on fire. Use six inch worms in shad patterns or dark colors like Robo's mm3. I keep the worm up about 12 to 15 inches and use a 1/8th drop shot weight. Move around if you don't get bit, don't work one area to long if no bites. I have been concentrating on the narrows, rattlesnake arm and the redbud arm. The outer edges of the tules from state park to lakeport all have been holding fish. Finding the shad now seems to be the key, earlier there was too much shad and you needed to get away from it, now find it and utilize it. The topwater bite is slow, but if you stay with it long enough, it can produce, Ie: frog, buzzbait, spook, etc. Besides the 11.9 and the ten my brother and I caught, I also weighed an 11lbe for a person who didn't have a scale and there have been numerous fish in the 6 to 9lb range reported caught. I don't post here often because I am busy enough with my guide business, feel free to e mail me for any info.
City: NiceTips: use drop shot for numbers, shad and dark colors, use six inch only, no need for four inch. Crankbaits both shallow and deep and in both shad and crawdad colors. Don't stay long in one spot if your not getting bit. Drop shot is also catching big fish, I had two over six pounds in the last three days on drop shot. No need for light line leaders, I use 12lb seaguar myself.

Water Temp: Unknown
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: I fished on the evenings of the 16th and 17th. On the 16th I fished in the back cove area with jigs and a frog. No frog fish. I could only get a couple small jig fish(1lber and a dink) right at dark. On the 17th, I started in the back cove and got a couple small bites on a jig. No frog fish either, so I decided to go to Cat Tail and throw a white Horny Toad. I caught a dink and a 1lber. That was it.
City: AntiochTips: Fish for more than just a couple hours if you can. You need a little more time to fish more spots and try to figure out the fish. Other than that, I've been stickin the the jig every time I go out and its been working almost every time out. Also, try something different when you can't get anything on the usual. It was the first time I tried the horny toad and it worked for me.

Report: Hit the lake 7:30 with wife. Headed up north in my new 21x triton. Yamaha gets great mileage if you don't go over 40 mph. Top water till 11 am. never threw plastics till after 11. The evern whacked my white buzz bait about 10x but nobody big enough to get the trailer? Lucky craft gun fish worked real well finally. Caught 20 small to average size on top water. Sammys poppers gun all worked. Sun straight went to bridges. Caught better size but a lot fewer. Did manage a 17 1/2 incher on 4" seinko. Lots of water very few fisherman. Maybe price of gas has a silver lining.
City: orangevaleTips: 80 degree water time for fun.You can crank points top water shade pockets all day.Wife was killing em on cinnamon with blue flake grubs. I caught them on everything in afternoon. Steeper banks worked better than tapered ones.Drop shot 15 to 25 feet all day if you like drop shot.Wide open bite.Time to take kids fishing to get them excited.Wish I could get the buzz bait to hook up.Threw capt jack jig and caught them on it. It dosen't matter what you do.Found lots of floating logs and debree so watch out early or late.

Fishing improved over this past weekend with the cooling of the weather. Thursday and Friday were still very hot but the wind came up on Saturday morning and the bite improved. They say when the wind comes from the west the fishing is best. Here's a winner for catching catfish - mackerel - it's very oily and puts out a strong scent and the cats love it. Add it to your list of baits. My wife and I wormed with brass and glass and were successful in landing bass. Trolling with a six foot diving lure in fifteen feet of water will also catch bass. If you have any fishing stories to share, please call me at 650-583-3333 or email me at bestguide@hotmail.com ........'til next week...................good fishing!!!!!! www.fishingconnection.net

Water Temp: 70+

Report: Probably best fishing trip i've ever had....and I only fished for a combined total of 5 hours. Smallest fish was around 1.5 lbs, biggest was around 5lbs. From where i'm from, i'm happy with a few keepers and a some shakers. THIS PLACE WAS AMAZING. had some friends that were new to the sport and had no idea what they were doing. i just gave them a texas rigged june bug cut tail senko and they all caught their limit in only 1.5 hours. i didnt do too bad my self, but i was so busy helping them land their fish, i didnt have much time concentrating on my own fishing. i cant even count the number of times everyone hooked into a fish at the same time.
I was able to sneak out and go fishing solo....glad i did. flipped senkos around weed beds and nailed big fish. 3+ lbs.
Did i forget to mention best fishing trip ever? this trip should make for a bunch of dissappointing trips on the delta.
City: OaklandTips: you could throw an old boot and probably catch something. but make it a JUNE BUG colored boot =)

Report: I went out today from about 3 to 8. I started at the boat ramp and caught one dink on a shad colored spinnerbait. I lost another dink around the island. I caught a 1lber on a Sparrow Bobby's Perfect Frog in about a foot of water on top of a mat. I then caught a 2lb. 6oz. frog fish on the same frog in open water near some tules by channel point. I fished my way to the lagoon with a frog, jig, and spinnerbait with no success. I got to the the lagoon rocks and started throwing a 3/8oz Brown Skinny Bear Grizz Flippin Jig with a Plum with emerald flake Yamamoto Craw. On about my 5th cast, I stuck a 4lb. 11oz. jig fish. Two casts later I caught a samll keeper and two casts after that I caught a dink. I got my jig stuck in the rocks and snapped it off and then left.
City: AntiochTips: Walking the frog in open water near tules or twitching it on the mat. Spinnerbaits around weeds and tules. Jigs on rocks or hard and sandy bottoms.

Folsom Lake

Water Temp: 77-79
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: In @ 8:30 and ran to the dam to throw a buzzbait for awhile. One Spot that went 2.75 lbs. ate it in the west corner and that was it. Moved around a bit, but ended up fishing right in front of the Granite ramp and ended up with a 3.8 Smallie, 3.1 Spot, 2.6 Spot. 2.5 (mule) Smallie and a 2.0 Spot all out in about 20-25 ft. on a long submerged point. Dartheaded all of them on a 1/4 oz. lead with my favorite Roboworm.
City: RosevilleTips: Fish are moving out to offshore structure with the dropping water. A few good fish are up shallow early, but the schools of bigger fish have set up shop in some "grocery" store areas around the lake. These fish are settled in until the fall bite takes off and the only way to get is being good with the electronics and a dropshot or darthead. Good luck

Report: Went to the Lake for my yearly vacation with the family. I fished for week. My son and I caught ALOT of smallmouth I quit counting. Sizes range from, the size of the 1/3 oz. jerkbait we were using, up to 2lbs. Fished by the dam using cultiva mira shad and a drop shot with a 4 inch morning dawn worm. Also fished close to Bailey creek.Thats where I usually catch the bigger fish. I used a DT6 Series in the silver, those things work great. All in all, I , along with my 8 year old son had a great week of fishing.
City: VacavilleTips: Use mira shads and drop shot by the dam if you just want to catch fish(great for kids). Use DT Series along deeper shorelines.
