Report: First time on Oroville- what a beautiful lake! Fished at the top of the North Fork and pounded'em on plastics. Color, shape, flavor didn't seem to matter- if it got in front of them you got bit. Mostly spots and smallmouth with one largemouth around 3lbs. Had to fish through the little guys to find fish over 12". Overall a great day. My girlfriend even caught fish.... However, no day would be complete without encountering some jerk on the water. While up the N.F. some guy, his buddy and girlfrined literally drove their yellow fishing boat between me and the bank (while I was casting)- then coped an attitude when I objected, unbelieveable.
      City: Roseville

      Tips: Bring plastics, wear sunscreen.

Report: Fish in the Island pond on sat from 7 to 12. Early morning was slow with just couple small ones. When it gets about 9:30 to 10, the bass was jumping everywhere to chase the dragon flies. I hooked 3 on top water, one close to 3lb, one 2lb, and a little one. Top water is working pretty good now in the island pond.
      good luck fishing.
      City: Fremont

Tips: Try topwater, and work them slow.

Report: Another great day on the water. Fished Hog and Sycamore sloughs. The first cast of the morning by my cousin Gene resulted in a 33 lb striper that was caught on a spinnerbait. We weren't prepared for catching such a large fish so it took several minutes for us to figure out to bring it on-board (the net was definitely too small).

For the day, we caught another striper (6 lbs) and over 20 keeper size bass. Largest 5 was only around 12 lbs. Off the water by 12:00P.
      City: Dixon

Tips: Over the weeds and next to weedlines were the best for us today.

Report: What a fun trip to report! I did one of my rare half-day trips today with a regular client, his business friend and 10 year old son! The boy's father starts the trip - about 7 am with a 4-2 bass. I love it when the pressure is off the guide immediately, har!!! He later lands a 5-3, and the 10 year old get his own 4-8. Was the young one ever excited! In the 4 1/2 hour trip we caught 21 bass and one bluegill - 2 dinks and 2 under 2 lbs. The rest were 2 to 5-3 lbs with our 5 best a few ounces under 20 lbs. We just threw Yamamoto creature baits in #301 color (Texas rigged), some Sweet Beavers, and I tried a black 10" Berkely Power Worm which one of my favorites in dingy summer Clear Lake water It usually produces good summer bass, but not today - biggest was only 2 3/4. We just fished around Rattlesnake Island, not on major rockpiles, but just on subtle ledges, etc, that I have learned through the years. These fish don't get much pressure and if you hit it right, good things can happen!
      City: Yuba City

Tips: Our first good bass came near the tules, but we soon realized that there were small bass and bluegill everwhere shallow which usually means that the quality fish have moved out. It seems they did because all of our bass were caught at least 30 feet off the island in probably 8 to 18 feet. I always target ledges if I can - they worked today!

Report: fished shasta last four days small fish except for keepers early on main long slopers and running water-top mc Cloud and sac but little backbone is the jewel, i sleighed them early and late, senkos in shad patterns work well and zippers carolina, and your hardbaits on busting fish. NOW about yesterday in jones valley, you guys are done !!!!!! when you shot Randy in the face you blackballed jones valley from every decent bass pro in the country you turned him into PETA,you tried to kill him at the ramp in May you vandalized his equipment dished him to everybody you know and dont i have never seen anything like this before. All because he makes in my opinion the best rainbow trout spook in the world. he is a widower with 6 children and has raised them First before fishing and if you know him he gives more to organazations like special olympics-than most who never give back to the sport. I ask that you not patronize jones valley but instead use bridge bay or other fine marinas on shasta. He planned on fishing B.A.S.S. in fall but is in a world of hurt now,but told me he will help who-ever needs anything, remember this guy gave up all his belongings and gave his vehicle to people who needed his equipment during the fires and stayed and did everthing he could to help others while never thinking of his own life.
      City: concord

Tips: almost everything that happens to be bad starts in jones valley, please tell all B.A.S.S. contenders to use marinas with security as i have never had a problem anywhere on shasta but jones valley. GOOD FISHING T.C.

      Water Temp: 82 Degrees

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Was fortunate enough to get out tonight to fish. Took my girlfriend along with me to enjoy the moonlit night and a little bit of bass fishing.

On the water at sundown. Started off fishing the main body points throwing around a black flippin' tube into rocky areas getting bumps but no connects. Finally found the fish on my usual areas - points near the spillway. Also fished the spillway itself on the flat picking up a few dinks and two fish @ 2 lbs. As the moon came up the fishing got a bit tougher, but before we left picked up a nice 5 lb kicker off the spillway flat. Hey, not a bad night of fishing. Back at the ramp at midnight.
      City: Sacramento

Tips: Same pattern as my trip the previous Saturday. Bump and drag your baits, work shallow and use lots of smelly jelly. Off topic - There wouldnt happen to be anyone here that's looking for a partner to fish draw tournaments would there? I'm look to start getting serious about tournament fishing. Please let me know!

Report: Fished Disappointment and Columbia Cut area. Strange weather this morning. Our first fish in the boat was a 19" striper caught on a spinnerbait. Rat L Trap was working today -- worked one point and caught 4 keeper size bass in 15 minutes. Went to a second point and caught 2 more in 5 minutes. For the day, we caught 12 keeper size bass (most of them in the 1 1/2 lb to 2 1/2 range) and off the water by 12:00P.
      City: Dixon

Tips: Fish close to the tules or weedline. Find the current and you'll find fish. Spent a lot of time throwing a Sizmic Toad, caught a couple of fish on it -- a lot of fun.

Report: On the water at 6:00pm till 8:00pm. My son and I took our kickboats out there, rowed to the far side of the lake. Not to much action but I did manage a 3.5lbs on a T-rigged 4inch worm(purple), and one other dink, my son farmed two small ones, gotta set that hook harder I told him.
      City: morgan hill

Tips: Fish slow with plastics while the sun is high, fish reaction baits when the sun starts to set, good luck!

Report: Nick, Andrew, David, and I started at the boat ramp today around 1:00PM. Since there were four of us, we decided to have a little tournament.(We just went by whoever caught the most keepers) On my second cast I caught a small keeper on a green pumpkin w/ green&purple Kreature. Nick caught one about 1.5lbs on a Kreature too just a couple minutes later. I caught another small keeper on it to the right of the launch ramp. We went over to the island and Andrew and Nick both caught a small keeper. Nick got his on a blade and Andrew's was on a Yum Sooie. We moved to Channel Point and I missed one on a Kreature. David caught a 1lber on a swimbait on the lagoon rocks and I caught a dink on a beaver to the right of the rocks. We went past the back dock and David and I fished the point while Andrew and Nick fished the cove. I caught a 2-10 on a jig and then a 13" and lost a dink and David caught a 1lber. We went back to the corner of the dam and we weren't getting much action. Then, all of a sudden, the bite seemed pick up right as the sun was setting. Nick caught a keeper on a spinnerbait. Then right after that, David lost one. And then I caught a 3-10 on a jig on the point before the cove. Then two cast later I caught a 3-1 on the jig. Then David caught a 2lber. That was it for the day and we left at 9. I ended up winning the tournament with 6 keepers.
      City: Antioch

Tips: Jig color didn't seem to matter as I was catching fish on a brown/black silicone jig with a green pumpkin/red&black trailer and David used a brown round rubber jig with a green pumpkin/purple&green trailer. Jigs also got the better quality fish. Jig fish were caught in a little deeper water with a hard bottom with little drop offs. Smaller fish were caught on the reaction baits and the t-rigged creature baits.

      Water Temp: 76

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished as early as they would let me launch (8AM). Had a couple of blowups on a buzzbait but only one small fish. Pitched a watermelon colored tube along the shore for an hour before the sun got too high. Caught a decent one(1.5lbs) and a dink. Dropshotted until noon off the main lake points and caught 6 more. Biggest was about 3lbs.
      City: San Jose

Tips: Summer is tough at the Santa Clara County lakes because we can't get on the water early or late. Sorry Zack, I have to agree with the others...the rangers might get the job done, but their rules are not in favor of fishermen. Santa Clara has to be the only county in CA that doesn't allow fishermen on the water early and late in the day...which makes for tough fising in the heat of the summer. We will have to fish 'em deep until they change the rules!

Report: Thanks for the report Zack. Very enlightening. The rangers are the folks opening the gates @ 8am and setting the rules. We would go you ask... to the same lakes, just earlier in the morning. FYI, we also have Del Valle, Berryessa, The Delta, just to name a few. Since it is near impossible to understand what you are getting at, I hope this helps. Hunter, what is a Blew Gill? What does Huckups mean? You must be using some inside Bass language.

Report: Early start on Disappointment again.Tide was high.Started throwing prop, spook, popper, and buzz again with only one strike. Sun rose and with little success so switched to senko, grub, and spinnerbait with immediate results. Caught mostly 1lb upto 3lbs on spinner and only dinks on the grub. A couple on senko. Largest was just over 5lbs on a senko. Caught 16 keepers. Best 5 total was 17lbs. Off water by 11am again.
      City: stockton

Tips: Topwater was not the ticket for me again. White kalingrub, Chrt/wht spinner w/nickle willow, and cinn w/purple flake senko.Wtrmelon w/redflk senkos seem to have lost their magic. Fish were located in tules because I dont like to fish the rocks or levee side and seem to do well enough in the tules.
