Report: Started off @ first light down south w high tide and dead calm water. Went to work on a grass flat,,was dead sticking a white frog in the open pockets. Had a couple small bites then a small keeper. Next fish went 8lbs 5oz and was a perfect football, nice.. Stayed south a few more hours alternating between the frog and buzzbait...lots of bites but not many over 2lbs. Moved over to Mildred around 10 and started buzzing (very slowly) grass lines and pockets. Got five more in the boat three being 3lb + fish. They were absolutely expoding on the buzzer when they bit, very cool.. Off the water @ noon, best five about 19lbs

Report: Made my first trip here this year and found the lake full with no fisherman..Had heard some bad reports so I went to try it out..Fishing was good for me and my son..We landed 9 fish in three hours and missed some big blowups. All fish were fat and healthy between 2 and 5 pounds.I can't understand why there are no fisherman. It cost 15 dollars to get in but you use virtually no gas..Do the math..

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Went out by myself for a little R&R today. Went to some of my early June haunts and fished slow and deep ( 25-30') and lo and behold the fish were there right on schedule. It's hard for me to beleive that after the past couple of weeks of HOT weather we are still behind the times pattern wise, but we are. LM to near 6 and smallies to near 4 are still readily available if you are patient enough and know where to look. I was fishing Yum Dingers ( the really big ones) in 25'+ and was wishing I had brought a pillow. But they worked. Boring as H but 6lb Lm will wake you up. Just don't expect to feel a bite as it takes slack line to get them down. You have to time your casts with a calendar instead of a clock but if it works......
      City: Weaverville

Tips: Any time you can combine R&R and R&D it's a good day.

      Water Temp: ?

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: I fished today with my friends David and Nick. We started at the boat ramp at about 8:00 am. I noticed that the lake has been lowered and didn't like that. There was also an algae bloom and that didn't seem to help much either. We didn't catch anything at the ramp so we moved toward the island and channel point throwing frogs, jigs, and plastics. Nick had one small fish on a spinnerbait fishing the rocks by the pool. He also had a nice one blow up on his sweet beaver as he was taking it out of the water. He went to the corner by the dam past the back dock and threw jigs and t-rigs. I lost one small fish on a jig and then caught a small keeper. Nick caught 3 on a Yamamoto Kreature and 1 on a spinnerbait all in that area. The biggest was about 2lbs with the other going 1lb to 1.5lbs. I caught one more small keeper on a jig and so did David. We fished back to the boat ramp and Nick lost 2 more on the Kreature, but they were small. We left at about 9 pm.
      City: Antioch

Tips: Jigs and Texas rigs to imitate craws. There are a lot of shad in the lake right now so a shad pattern spinnerbait also worked.

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Got to lake around 7. through buzz bait off boat ramp for a little while. nothing there, so i tossed out a yamamoto blue/black flake creature texas rigged. third cast picked up a 2.5 pounder. got it as i pulled it out of the water. casted after that one and another one took it. had it on but came off. not good enough hook set. went to spot near bridge casting towards island. saw a nice pocket of weeds and tules. tossed it right in and got a hit fast. it was a pig. pulled it out of weeds but it then went back in and my line snapped.eventually got to north shore and flipped a 5" berkely bungee hawg blue/black flake. got a 13" in a pocket bouning the hawg up and down. that was it for me. the bite died down a lot after that. through everything i had for the rest of the day and no takers.
      City: Oakley

Tips: in the morning the bass liked anything that would be easy to get. drop shot, jigs, texas riggs, those kind of slow retrieve baits. all my reactive lures i had no action at all on.

      Water Temp: 85

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: After several stable weather 100 degree plus days, started at 7:30 pm with cooler temps (air about 88) and a delta breeze. Only decent fish during light hours was on a spinnerbait. After dark, senkos were the only thing that worked. Biggest night fish was 3.9 pounds. Pre-dawn bite was underwhelming - only about 5-6 fish biggest going 3.9 pounds again. Only picked up about 8-10 keepers total with top five between 2 and 3.9 pounds. A decent night bite ended around 2 am when about a 20 mph stiff breeze from the south east came in for about 2 hours. The bite didn't start up again until pre-dawn. Off the water before 7 am.
      City: folsom

Tips: While it could have been the weather, I'd say don't fish here within 5 days after a tournament as I think the fish get very spooked. At this point, I'd say wait till fall.

      Water Temp: 78

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: On the water at 5:45am,later than I wanted. Fished Disappointment slough.Used a buzz and a prop bait for topwater. Caught a couple of 3lbrs right away along tules on the prop. Then caught a nice 7lb striper on the prop. Once the sun rose some more used brushhog, wht grub, and spinnerbait.Nothing huge, many in the 1-2lb class but even more dinks with the largest bass at just over 4lbs.Caught almost 30 fish, a couple of those were stripers and crappie.Off water at 11.Nice day out on the water.
      City: stockton

Tips: Use prop bait early before sun hits the water. Buzz still seems to be a slow bite for me. As the sun rose began to flip spinnerbait, brushhog, and grub into dark pockets in the tules.White Grub produced the most but were mostly dinks or crappie. Wht/chrt spinner along weedline or flipped into tules.

      Water Temp: 75 - 78 on GPS

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: On the first spot a 5:30 am- used a storm rattlin chug bug in a frog pattern, threw between the bank rock wall and the weed pockets, let the rings disapate, the bigger fish hammered it then,
the smaller fish hit it on the way back to the boat had a four fish limit by 7:30 on the bug, threw a 3X type senko and found fish tight to cover in the weeds after the sun came up, culled two fish, 4 fish weighed around 15 lbs off the water by 10:00 a.m. Also had two dinks on the bug at 1 time.
      City: Martinez

Tips: I replaced the rear hook on the chug bug with a red treble hook, just let it sit, it seemed to drive them crazy , a couple came out of the water
and went down on the bait to eat it.

Report: Got 3 one-pound LM bass at Alder Point over the 7/16 weekend, 9am to noon. Tried crankbaits, dropshots, senkos, and poppers, but no takers. They were only hitting on nightcrawlers. Fish were deep (12-15 ft) and not very active. Catch and release, of course.
      City: San Leandro

Tips: Nightcrawlers only. Nothing else worked.

      Water Temp: Hot

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Spent a week fishing and tubing Clear Lake with the family and a friend and his family. Hot Hot weather. Hot bite for smaller fish. We easily caught 200 bass on crankbaits over the week. We primarily fished a few hours in the morning rested and then fished a bit in the evening and afternoon. Chartreuse shad was the hot color with fish up to 4 lds on rocks. Most of the fish were smaller, but it was a blast to be able to just catch fish and have fun. Decent bite on the dropshot, Margarita Mutliator was the only color we used or needed. Best fish of the trip came at night(of course) on a DD-22 on a rockpile with a bass close to 6. That rockpile had a 30 minute hot bite with a 16-18 ld limit caught in those 30 minutes and then it went completely dead. We dedicated the morning sessions to frog fishing and did get several each day. No huge fish but several decent 3-4 lders. Just too much fun to try and catch the fish on another bait when they are blowing up on a frog. Best frog was white and more fish came in the open water just off the weeds than came through the muck. Great time for all. We stayed with Bob Higgins at his cabins next to Limit Out tackle and he was a gracious host always willing to share the info he had. The most interesting catches of the week were two catfish over 20 lds, each caught on a crankbait. Since it was a fun trip, I did not target the big bite, but the quantity was certainly there. A serious day of fishing will get you 100 fish a day. (per boat with 2 anglers)
      City: Yucaipa,Ca

Tips: Be careful with the heat. Bang rocks with your crankbaits and have fun.

      Water Temp: 77-80

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished the dam and left of the dam using 4 in robo and magic worms in any color i had and caught 12 fish to 4 1/2 lbs, 2 of which were small mouth in 2 feet of water. The 4 1/2 lb was a spawned out female, i saw her in the cove I was catching smaller fish in when I got out of my boat to go to the bath room, the path I took went right next to the cove I was fishing and you could look down and see the smaller fish in the shade, I looked next to the bank and there was the 4-5 lb and a 2 lb 1 foot from the bank with her back almost sticking out of the water, I snuck to the boat got a senko and drop it about 3 feet in front of her and she split with her boyfriend. 5 minutes later I was tossing a 4 in robo worm weighless wacky rigged and she was on, if she was full of eggs or in 2 months she would have gone 6+ easy, I am 6 foot tall and I could put my fist in her mouth. I put her back so she could go back and protect her little ones.
      City: san jose, ca

Tips: I tried drop shot, dart head, and split shot, they would not take it, the only way they would take it was wacky rigged with not weight, you have to watch your line and be patient because it takes a while for the worm to go down but the fish were very shallow feeding on 1 to 1 1/2 in bait fish.
