Report: I have been ask if there is alot of floating wood on the the lake. Any time you have high water level year you will have this problem. it is out there not a lot. Just be awear that it is there. Just slow down and keep your eyes open. At 3.50 per gal of gas who would want to run full boar anyway. stay safe.

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: The bite is on right now for prespawn bass. the past couple touneys it took in the 17# range to win. The lake is realy full right now and will be at max soon with the run off still coming in strong. The spawn will be on soon so remember that catch and release is very important this time of year. Also on June 3 we will be having our kids day fishing clinic at the chester park with lots of prizes, and all kids get a fishing pole. So if you are in the area stop by and help support the program
      City: Chester

Tips: rip rip and then rip somemore. We are still working on the large mouth project. the numbers are getting better but we still need to do catch and release on them so they can make babys. I had one report that two 7#ers went home last week.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Great day on the lake friday. Caught 40+ bass on flukes in the morning, and drop shotting later in the day. Size ranged from one to four pounds. Found fish in one to ten feet of water, off points and in the back of coves. Bigger fish came deeper.
      City: Rancho Cordova

Tips: Fish shallow and cover water. Saw some larger fish, but not many. The coves are loaded with crappie and bluegill. Saw only one other bass fisherman all day. Fish during the week if you can and avoid the crowds.

Report: Started at about 0930 with my good freind Kentuck. We went out to mildred Island for most of the day. Bite was slow but we managed to land about 15 fish. Biggest was about a pound and a half. Saw many 4 and 5 pounders inside the weed line and on top of the weeds near shore cruising nests or close by.

Tips: We hit fish on everything from spinnerbaits to worms, Dark colors. No frog fish but shouldnt be long

      Water Temp: 52

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: I went over the hill today to see what was happening. The water was colder than I expected. The lake is very full. I was glad I had my 4X4 due to poor condition of the road. The fish were scattered, suspended and very much in the pre-spawn mode. I caught 15 fish the biggest was three pounds the only problem it was a squaw fish.
The senko bite was not happening. Threw cranks for a few. The others came on a dropshot. I caught one on a Texas rig worm.
      City: Potter Valley

Tips: Bring a sharp knife and a club to fight off the squaw fish. I was greeted by a young fish and game officer, very friendly but I got the vibe he is trying to make a name for himself. I was glad I had all the proper documentation, ie registration/ license ect..

Report: beside bad fishing, whomever compiled lake list, should better take a good look at what the lake names should be. with cold front moving in & water levels down about 10 feet, fishing was tough. water is so clear, you can see the bad boys swimming around, you know they can see you! once rain started, bite was on, tons of dinks, all was catch & released with a few in the 3-4 pounds category. Rain stopped & was bite.
City: x gg & sm bridges

Tips: make super long casts with Senkos, don't let them see ya!

      Water Temp: 65-67

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished Thursday in the pouring rain from 2-7pm. Not a breath of wind, but boy did it come down hard. Let up about 5pm. Had another 20-25 fish day, with a little better quality this time. Had 5 or 6 fish over 3 pounds, but they all looked like they were spawned out. The fish has the bodies to be over 4 lbs but had no bellies what so ever. Fish were still relating to the brushy pockets. Caught most on flukes and senkos, but did have a couple of really cool fish hit a buzz bait and a spinner bait. Both of those fish came out of heavy cover and were very exciting to pull out of the cover and land. Bummer part was I couldn't duplicate that bite anywhere else. I think some fish are still spawning, but I feel at least one wave of fish has already spawned from evidence of the fish I caught and fry I saw in the bushes. Can't complain about 25 fish days, but have had much better days on Eastman during this time of year. The next few weeks should still be good especially with the top water bite taking off.
      City: Clovis

Tips: Still had to force myself to slow down to get bit. Most bites coming on the pause of the fluke. Just give it a couple of extra seconds between jerks.

Report: Amazing - saw only one bass boat on the lake today. So what if it rained ALL DAY!! After our great day at Pardee on Monday, I took my Minnesota client to dreary Clear Lake today - a lake he has always wanted to fish. The scenery was dreary but the fishing wasn't! We had bites all day - many from small bass however. I even caught a big bluegill! We caught 25 bass with about 5 in the 11-12 inch size. The rest were good quality with his largest at 4-10 and mine at 6 1/2. Thankfully, he caught most of the quality bass and we put together an 18 lb limit. All of our fish were caught on plastics - 4 to 6 inch worms, brush hogs, and the Sweet Beavers he picked up at Limit Out Tackle. I borrowed one of his baits since they were working well, and my first bass on a beaver was the 6 1/2. Hmmmm. We fished the Oaks arm and Konocti Bay, looking for rock/tule combination areas. In spite of the rain, it was still fairly warm and most of our bass were very shallow - 3 to 10 feet. Green pumpkin seemed to be the color of choice. We were Texas rigging most of the plastics. I think he will have fond memories of Clear Lake when his lakes are all frozen next winter, har!!
      City: Yuba City

Tips: Several areas had green slime on the rocks and it seems that some weeds are beginning to form. It will be interesting to see if the lake clears some this summer, or, when we finally get some heat, if it will turn dingy as last summer. That led to some fantastic fishing in the dog days of summer!

      Water Temp: Didn't Check

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: On water from 2pm thru 7pm, caught five on watermelon baby brush hog, all in Bailey's Cove except one. Largest was 3.5, others averaged 1.5 with one smaller. Hopes were high when I landed first four fish before 3pm. Then the fast action turned to no action at all for the next three hours. Finally boated last fish in the small cove between Bailey's and the dam. Tried other baits to no avail, i.e., Senkos, spinnerbaits, swimbaits, cranks, Stacees, and even a frog. All fish released.
      City: Santa Clara

Tips: I fished weedline edges and all my bites occurred on the fall as soon as bait hit the water. Be alert. Saw other folks landing a few fish, mostly on plastics, too. I'm still waiting for the rip bite to happen. Hope I'm there when it does.

Report: Fished Calero today from 8 to 3:15. Started slow had two fish by 12:30. One on a trap and one on a senko. Then it happened. I saw a couple bluegills swirl around a tree across from the inlet. Decided to split shot an Aarons magic worm because it looks like a bluegill. Started picking up More and better fish. Last 8 were on this rig. Tight to wood. 3 3lbers and the rest good solid 1.5 to 2. 1 dink thrown in as well.
      City: San Jose

Tips: Pay attention to what is going on around you. It may help you key in on a bite.
