I COULD NOT BELIEVE IT.IT WAS A VERY SOFT SPONGY BITE IT WAS HARD TO DETECT STRIKE'S.NOT LIKE THE WEEK BEFORE WHEN THEY WERE REALLY SLAMMING IT.THE RANGER TOLD ME IT'S GETTING HIT PRETTY HARD ALL WEEK . HE SAID 3 FISH OVER 7#'S THIS WEEK LONE.SO THEIR GETTING THINNED OUT QUICKLY.NOT TO MENTION THE AMOUNT OF TOURNAMENT'S AND THE AMOUNT OF BOAT'S . LAST WEEK I THOUGHT I WAS AT PEDRO IT 'S GETTING HAMMERED.WHEN YOU HAVE 5-7 BOAT'S FISHING A QUARTER MILE OF BANK IT'S BADDDDDDDDDD!

Folsom Lake
-
Water Temp: 55
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Took a couple younger guys out to Folsom for some fun fishing who had been having a tough time finding fish, Boy talk about windy and I speared a good one in the Ranger. Maggie , my dog went from the front deck to the back one riding a wave. The water is up over my last visit and colder probably due to the snow melt. I stayed in the North arm for about 3 hours and left when the hail and lighting started.
City: CarmichaelTips: No reaction fish on rips, blades or cranks which surprised me with all the wind, and the drop in pressure. If you could get boat control a good fish or two could be picked up on each secondary point going back into a cove. Watermelon baby hog or yamamoto lizard on a C-rig with a 18-24 inch leader. Nasty weather and thank goodness for my fish hedz.

Report: Lake is looking very good. Went out at 7:00AM until noon when it started raining. Got 4 lrg mouth, biggest 5lbs. Started to drizzle and went to trout, got about 8 keepers(2.5 lbs average)on Rapalas and yellow powerbait.
City: San JoseTips: Lake should get even better once the rain clears and sun comes out on a daily bases.

Berryessa Lake
-
Water Temp: 56-59
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Another wet day of fishing. Few boats and most of them were from Loomis Basin Bassmasters. Like Captmike said, most of the bass were small but got them all day in that 20 mph winds. Adam was my partner, he's a good fisherman. We both started out using a reaction bait in the narrows on points and coves to stay out of the winds. Got bits with a blade but most of our fish came on 4 " green pumkin lizarrrrd, morning dawn leach, mojo or split shot in 5 to 20 ft. We found cover at the boat slips in Markeley cove and found some nice keepers. Remember when time gets tough slow down and go small. The rocks had most of the fish but also found them around trees and bushes.
City: rocklinTips: When the water temp drops the bigger fish move out, fish slow .

Water Temp: 56
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Fished Loomis Basin Club tournament. Caught about 4 limits of small keepers. Final 5 were cloned 1.80 pounders. Mixed bag during day with final 5 being all spots. Split shot bubble gum 4inch worm 15 feet. Tiny zoom lizards good also, Wood near by helped. Lost a couple of dandys in thick cover on 8 lb test? Partner dropped nice 3lb smallie right at boat? Had the fish on to win but wasn't in the cards. Winning team had 9.50 lbs or something close. They went up to vinyard. Big fish was 3lbs something. Wind and rain hampered finess bite. Caught over 30 fish on day so
dexter and I had a great time all day. Lake is full with lots of trees in the water. Look for old trees in water newer ones don't hold fish as well? Neat to have thumbs all chewed up again.
City: OrangevaleTips: Lots of fish everywhere. Lizards and 4 inch bubble gum worms split shot on 6 or 8 lb test. Stay in 15 to 20 feet until you come to tree in water then cast up to bank and bring down lenght of tree. Smelly jelly helps.

City: San LeandroTips: They dont seem to be on the docks yet.

Water Temp: 56-59
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Started out of Ladds around 6:30 and ran to Disappointment. Tried topwater with no success so I broke out the jig. First pitch got bit but no hook up. Several hours, a few rain showers and almost a complete trip up and down the front end of the slough by paradise finally stuck a 1.8#. It started raining again and with the trolling motor having issues I decided to call it a day around 12:30. When I got back by Ladds I wanted to take some of the frustration off of my partners day with a fish so I went to the point at the entrance to the sailboat club to see if I could get him a fish. First crankbait cast 3.8#, second nothing, third 2#, fourth 1.5#, fifth 1.7#. Got drenched twice more and ended up with a final 1.5# off the point for about 45 minutes of fishing. I got hung up and broke off my crank so I tried to keep the boat in position for my partner to get one. No luck for him.
City: Woodland -
Water Temp: 63 Degrees
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Launched out of wimpys went out to sycamore slough. Busted some solid fish 20 total biggest five went 18lbs. Caught on flukes, blades and topwater.

Clear Lake
-
Water Temp: 55-57
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Thanks again to the solid input from the board members for my 1st mission to Clear Lake. Conditions were rough, w/ wind, rain, and too many baitfish! Jigman and I did what we could and threw swimbaits, ripbaits, and blades all over the north end. I Got one 7 #'r on blades early then nothing till a buck at dark. Jigman, ripped up a good fish the next day in pouring rain and that was it. We had a killer time as always, but headed home early realizing that Clear Lake is not the place to be mid front!
City: SFTips: The only thing that worked for us...Rip, Rip, Rip and slow role blades with a big trailer sapped w/ scent.

Collins Lake
-
Water Temp: 57
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: I fished for about 4 1/2 hours on Friday morning before the rain and did fairly well. I missed the early bite - was mostly checking out the condition of the lake. With these next storms, the lake will probably fill! I found all of my spotted bass split-shotting a green pumpkin Camanche Jack worm in about 20 feet of water. The first five were all in the 2 pound range, then some smaller ones, but the last was just under 3 pounds. My limit was about 12 pounds - nice quality! I threw some Senkos - but evidently at the wrong trees!! I ripped some with no takers, nor was there much of a jig bite! They sure wanted that worm (4 1/2 inch)!!
City: Yuba CityTips: I was casting and dragging along 45 degree angle banks, mostly in the river arm. Small rock helped. The bass became very active around 11 am. The east side is a bit warmer than the west side, but with no sun for several days coming up, that will change and the whole lake is likely to be the same temp. On sunny days in the spring, the east side warms up quickly! Good luck!!

McClure Lake
-
Water Temp: 56.0
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Went out with friends Saturday to brave the weather conditions Mother Nature threw at us. The fishing was tough. The fish were "scattered". Caught mine drop shotting and with jigs. Buddy caught some on a jerk bait. All fish came in less than 25ft of water. We only fished the South end of the lake. The wind made it extremely difficult to fish. Saw quite a few other lunatics out there trying to fish in the wind and rain. I guess when you got it - you got it!

Water Temp: ??
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Went out and my friend caught a nice 4lber. off of a crawdad colored crank bait right away. Tryed all types of lures, senko, rattle trap, crank bait, drop shot. Finaly I put on a spinner bait and right before we were about to leave I caught a 7 pound.......Steelhead. About 10 years ago I was fishing for bass in the creek behind the water district with a countdown minnow and I caught a 6 and 1/2 pound salmon. I have no clue what these fish are doing there but it was pretty fun.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Launched out of Louis Park and headed up to the Calaveras, got a couple of quick fish cranking structure. Moved around a little and got my first buzz bait fish this year. Headed back out to the main channel and a little farther east and found a good wall that held some good fish. Got one just under 6# on a crank bait and set hook on one that didn't move, it got loose around my trollin motor. Lost another fish probably in the 4# range. Had decent luck recently on outgoing tide with crank baits.
City: StocktonTips: Before fronts move in and during overcast I've found fish really tight to cover, wood and/or tulles.
