Report: Not at liberty to say where we ished but we ound the ishing slow also until about mid-day when we got on top o a school o ish and we began to pick up some decent sized ish. The reaction bite or us was also non-existent. We managed 5 keeper bass w/the biggest at around 3 lbs but it took all day to catch them. All o our ish were caught on plastics o one variety or another. The water is gradually cooling and the lake should turn over completely any day now.
      City: Napa

Tips: Fish plastics and keep ishing them until you are exhausted.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Spent the day on the south end o the lake and in the narrows marking a lot o ish and bait on the graph, but couldn't get any to bite. We tried just about everything. The reaction bite was dead, worms, jigs, nothing. Finally, at 1:30 I caught a 2# spot and 2# smallie on a drop shot. 20 minutes later my partner catches another spot just under 2#. A good way to end the day and get rid o the skunk. Anyone else ishing Berryessa?
      City: Rohnert Park

Tips: It has been a really tough bite lately. Fish slow and be patient.

Report: Brian Kettler took me up to Cachuma or some bass ishing. Started o in Cachuma Bay in the morning. Fished the shoreline in one o the Eastern coves when Brian noticed some shad dimpling the surace back inside. He told me to throw up in there. I was using a 3 inch Prizm Blue 'chovy Big Hammer swimbait rigged on an un-skirted buzzbait head and it didn't make it 3 eet beore it was sucked under by a nice 3.5 pound bass - which turned out to be the best one o the day. The rest o the day was tough with just a ew ish in the 12 inch range on crankbaits and 3 inch Steve's Shad colored Big Hammers rigged on 1/4 oz. Hammerhead Jig Heads. A ew other anglers got ish on plastic worms but it appeared that overall the bite was relatively slow.

      Water Temp: ?

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Bass ishing has been excellent at Chabot. I've been on the lake 3 times over the past 10 days and each time I caught 8-10 bass in about 3 hours. The largest was 3 and hal pounds and the majority are in the 1-2 pound range. The place to be this time o year is Alder Point. The reshly grown weeds provide plenty o cover and oxygen or bass. Most o the bass I caught are near the bottom (10-12 eet). The bass are hitting on plastic worms and luke all day long - literally rom 8am to 5pm. Occasionally they would chase ater crank baits. My nine-year old son is learning how to drop shot and having a blast. Chabot bass ishing should be good till mid-Nov.
      City: San Leandro

Tips: Drop shotting with a size 1 hook, 1/4 oz sinker, 8-lb test line, and either watermelon 5" Robo Worm or 4" Yamamoto red/black lat swimming worm. Fish slow and don't set the hook too soon. I also had success with a 5" Zoom silver luke and purple Norman deep diving crank bait.

Report: i live in marin so i let my house at 6am, and got to the lake at 8, so started ishing with a bill dance at ree shad i picked up somewhere, and i caught 6 all together til about 11am,all around boat docks in about 10 eet o water. i think it was a un day, mostly cuz i was doing better than the tournament isherman in there $40,000 bass boats, and im in my tricked out aluminum boat. Eat that.

Tips: I hear it was slow, but i had a cool day on that shad crankbait. well, good luck, catch and release only.

      Water Temp: 69

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: I guided a husband-wie team Saturday and we wound up having a great trip, thanks to some high clouds and a little wind. With water so clear and no shadows at Collins, a clear, sunny, calm day can be tough at Collins. But the conditions were good and we started catching bass as soon as we started at 11 am. He caught one on his irst cast with a tube bait. Most o the day however we split-shotted Camanche Jack's morning dawn 4 1/2" worms and they worked all day. I drop-shotted one nice bass on a Yamamoto Kut-tail worm and missed three more. We wound up with 23 bass with Mrs. Client catching the largest - ishing out o the wrong side o the boat!! Her spotted bass was right at 2 pounds. Most o our bass averaged 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 lbs - mostly at with shad. We did catch 3 largemouth, but they wern't very big. We ished the main body islands and west side. Most o our catch was in 20 to 30 eet o water.
      City: yuba city

Tips: The lake still hasn't turned over and probably won't or a ew days. I did see some school o bait at the 20 oot depth. You have to move around a lot at Collins to ind productive areas. The jig bite did not happen - to early I guess.
