    Water Temp: 62-65.8

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Fished from 6 pm till 12:30 am. Visibility about 1 foot. Scattered pockets of active fish (chasing bait to surface) and bank fish hitting senkos. Caught maybe 5 fish before dark and 1 or 2 after dark. Biggest going 3.5 pounds. All senko fish. Amador can be a tough lake at night without moon light and muddy water adds to problem. Pretty slow. Could have picked up a few more if had stayed later. Got a couple of quality bites that I couldn't put in boat. Tried several other proven baits - they proved to be inefective!
    City: Folsom

Tips: Be careful when loading your boat - many sticks by launch ramp. Make sure trailer bunks have no wood on them when you pull your boat out. Still a fair amount of wood and logs out on lake - so drive slowly and carefully. South coves had warmest temps.

Tips: Baby Brush Hogs in Green Pumpkin, Superhogs in Junebug, and Jigs in Purple or Black with a Hemphill Double-tail grub. Nothing on Spinnerbaits for me. All fish came from 10feet on up.

Report: Thanks Roland for the feedback. My big test will be at the Future Pro next week at Clear lake! We'll see how the offical weigh in goes compared to the handheld scale. All indications for a smack down tournment- weather will start clearing on Monday with four or so days of sunshine and low 70 degree temps! I was lucky enough to run into Kent Brown at fishermans warehouse in Rocklin today. He just came back from Clear Lake, fishing with Jimmy Reese, and slammed over 40 fish each in a day! He had the proof,a ripped up right hand with plenty of teeth marks and scrapes- with of course a little bit of dried blood! Real nice guy- he pointed me into the right direction of the swimbaits I was inquiring about. Thats it, I got everything to knock them dead next weekend.( I hope) I will be competeing in division 1- usually their is only araound 20 or so boats in that catogory. ANYWAYS THANKS FOR THE FEEEDBACK!

Report: o-heim - I have the Black one. The one they have on Cabelas is white, and I'm not sure if they are the same unit. I like mine (fiancee bought it for me for Xmas) because it is simple and also allows you to record the fish for a total weight. Not sure if its accurate, I would need to compare it to an official scale to do so :) Later - Roland (California Delta Chambers/USA Fishing Reporter)

Report: Despite the rain and wind, I decided to make the trip to Amador. And the Bass were cooperating!

Caught 9 fish total with the 5 biggest fish sitting around 18lbs. Not a big sack but pretty good considering the weather conditions. Biggest fish of the bunch was sitting at about 3.7 lbs on the Rapala scale. Caught most of the fish on Baby Brush Hogs in Black/Red, and a few on a Brown/Orange Duh Jig with a 180 Double Tail Yamamoto grub.
    City: Sacramento, CA

Tips: I found fish sitting either directly on points or off to the side in about 6-10 feet of water.

Report: Larry has been fishing this lake for god knows how long....He more than knows his stuff. For those in the know this lake does produce! I HAVE BBEN FISHING THIS LAKE FOR 17 YEARS on and off, and have been skunked more times than I would like to admit. It's the days that there"jumping in the boat" that we want every time we visit the lake, but most of us know that is not the case. Paying big bucks and ending up with no fish hurts!!! Larrys knowledge and experience is well worth the price. You could go to this lake 10 times, pay all of the fees and gas, and still not get one tenth of the knowledge you need. Those 10 trips will cost more than hiring Larry for one trip. It it expensive-yes, but well worth the investment, IF you want to get more out of your future trips. I some times question "other guys reports" but Larry reports the truth- not like some others. ItS HARD TO BELIEVE EVERYTHING YOU READ ON THESE BOARDS-BUT YOU CAN BELIEVE LARRY!

Report: By the way, I'm not paid to do this. My good friend, Larry Hemphill met me at the lake and we had a pretty good day. We sarted in the back of Cat cove, where the water color was a little better, and Larry proceeded to go to work throwing a junebug deadringer, he stuck a couple nice fish in about 20ft. Then we fished around in there and picked up a few more on purple jigs and a chart./blue spinnerbait real shallow. I switched to a brown orange jig, Larry stayed with black and blue and we started looking for cleaner water in the backs of creeks. We ended up with 24 fish, including our best 5 going 33lb.9oz.. We had a 9-0, 7-11, 7-0, 5-3 and 4-11.
    City: Sacramento

Tips: Slow down and look for fish staging in areas where they they will be spawning.

    Water Temp: 53

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: After seeing Rick and Larry's reports I decided it was time to hit my old stomping grounds. On the water about 5:00PM I started off working the point across the marina with a brown/orange Duh Jig and 4" Yamamoto Trailer in 180 (Salute Mr. Hemphill). Nothing happening so I moved across the lake and worked the points and cove above the spillway. Nothing doing so I switched to a Baby Brush Hog in Black and hit my first fish @ 1.3 in about 4 feet of water. Continued past the spillway and hit 4 more small bass with the Brush Hog. Rain started falling but the Bass still wanted to hit - unfortunately there were all small. The rain started to fall and they were still hitting - small fish however. Just before dark I hit my last one @ 2.4. The rain and wind kicked up hard so I decided to call it a night.
    City: Sacramento, CA

Tips: I worked the jig hard but couldnt buy a bite. All my fish were caught on the Brush Hog in 3-10 feet of water, except for the last fish which hit in about 15 feet of water. I'm sick of this weather. Hopefully we get at LEAST 3-4 days of nice, warm weather and Amador will be on fire.

Report: Haven't been fishing in forever, so I thought I'd come here after talking To Larry Hemphill on Wed. night. He told me the jig bite was pretty good and he was right. I started with a BLADE-RUNNER 1/2oz. rattle jig with a MAD MAN trailer and picked up 5 bass to 5lb. at my first stop by the spill way in 2 to 5ft. of water. Then I started fishing the sides of points and backs of creeks with a black and blue rattle jig and picked up another 15 fish. most of them were 3 to 4lb. with a couple close to 7lbs.. All shallow fish. I even saw some males on beds in the back of some coves but left them alone.
    City: Sacramento

Tips: Dark colored rattle jigs, shake them as soon as they get to the bottom and work them down to about 10ft.

Report: Well. my report is different than the previous one. Yesterday (Thurs) I guided a fellow that had never bass fished before. Another front was clearing out so I hoped for the best. Was I ever in for a surprise - the fishing was great! We started about noon in Cat Cove. I had him rigged with a Zoom black/grape Dead Ringer - good chice of color. He hooked a 2 to 3 pounder on the first cast and I am thinking - "lose it, lose it"! Bad luck to land a bass on the first cast. He lost it!! Soon he had his first bass - about 14 inches. His second was bigger and the THIRD bass of his life was 4 lbs 2 oz - a new convert to the sport!!!!! He caught several and lost several - still needs to work on his hookset. I don't think he will ever trout fish again. I, too, did well - catching several bass from 4 to 6 lbs 1 oz. Our limit was over 23 lbs. I was using a black/purple/blue Rattlin' Weapon jig with a #157 Yamamoto grub nearly the whole trip. I also caught a few on Berkley 10" Power Worms. Many quality bass were in 2 to 6 feet of water in the afternoon. We found them all over - points, backs of coves, walls, didn't matter. I promised him and hour or two of night fishing and we got lots of bass but only one over 4 lbs. He loved it!! We wound up with 24 bass and after he left I fished one more spot and caught one more - the bite died. I slept in my truck and fished a little this morning but only caught 4 bass to 3 lbs. No jig bite for me in the morning.
    City: Yuba City

Tips: Though we didn't hook any huge bass, the quality was good - really only one or two small males. Most of the bass were on or near points - even in coves, especially ones with rock or brush. The lake is as high as I have ever seen it. With tomorrow probably setting a record for March rainfall, the bass are probably as confused as some anglers are. Move around until you can find the bass and remember to use real bright or real dark colors for contrast in the dirty water.

Report: My best fishing bud - Rick Tietz - CEO of Blade Runner Tackle, and I went for our annual November night trip to Amador - except we were a week or so late! We thought the cloudy weather would help the bite. Well, it did for one of us - in a big and quick way!!!! His first cast about 4:30 pm - main body - produced a 9 pounder from about 20 feet of water. He was using a black 10" Power Worm. What a bass!! After photos and the release, I suggested we go home! When we go together, usually only one of us does well. And he started 'way too quick!! Sure enought, he also lands a 5-2 and a 4-5, for about 18 lbs 7 oz. I don't want anyone feeling sorry for me - I did catch a 12 incher - on a 10 inch Power worm. I missed all my other bites. That was it - 4 bass in the boat in about 5 1/2 hours. The night bite should have turned on about 10 pm, but the clouds disappeared and the fog rolled in immediately, and that is the kiss of death for winter night fishing!
    City: Yuba City

Tips: We had lots of bites from smaller bass which surprised me. They normally don't bite during the winter at night. Since the cold weather set in so quickly, I think the bass are in transition finally and the day and night bite should pick up. One of Rick's nice bass was caught in only 8 feet of water, the other about 15-20 feet. Don't forget the Smelly Jelly!!

Report: Fished from 6:00 a.m. till 2:00 p.m. Brother-in -law and I caught 29 bass between us. Ranged between one and four pounds. Larger fish came early on topwater and spinner baits. Used drop shotting later in the day. Caught fish between five and fifteen feet deep.
    City: Rancho Cordova

Tips: Fish are grouped up. Would catch three or four fish in five minutes in a small area, than go thirty minutes with nothing. Have to work around the trout fisherman, but worth it. Only saw two other bass boats on the lake.
