Water Temp: 62
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: 3 days after full moon, fished from 7:30 pm to 2:30 am, air temp upper 40's. Very slow until about 9 when a short hot bite was on in a small cove but ended abruptly when another boat drove in and out and back in again and seemed to spook the bass. Only got 3 fish with the biggest going 2.5+. Fished shallow and deep: offshore structure and structure related to the shoreline. Graphed the best population of fish in 35 feet on structure.
City: FolsomTips: Maybe fish days but the trout crowd is likely a zoo. Because of this, I'd recommend going to Clear Lake if you can afford the gas - I can't!

Water Temp: 54
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Fished from 7 pm to midnight - had to leave early. Full moon, light fog, and high, thin clouds, air temp about 45 at start to about 39 when left, fair amount of dew. Slow but steady bite. Got 3 all under 2 pounds. Missed a couple of good bites - always give fish a second or two when using the largest Senkos before setting hook. Found fish both in coves and on main lake points mostly in about 15' - 20' of water. Had problems with moss and some weeds in areas making worm and jig fishing tedious.
City: FolsomTips: Get there earlier if you can - I couldn't. Days probably better than nights. Areas near steep banks/walls seemed a bit better.

Water Temp: 67-70
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Fished from 5:30 pm till 1:00 am, was unable to stay later. Fish were gorging themselves on shad like crazy but were tough to catch. We caught 2 on topwater and one or two on crankbaits. After dark bite was again S-L-O-W with only a few fish on black/chartreuse plastics and senkos. Probably caught 7 fish with biggest going 1.5 pounds - pretty impressive for a fall bite, huh? Had a good time anyway. Moon was at first quarter (half moon), winds were fairly strong for about 2/3 of the time and the air temp was pretty warm - warmer than last 2 trips.
City: FolsomTips: If you know how to catch the (smaller) bass going crazy on shad in the evening, then you'll do okay. I guess we should have tried spooning.

Water Temp: 73-75
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Fished from 5:30 pm till 12:30 am. Left early because bite was S-L-O-W from 8 pm till midnight. Got a 3, a 2.5 and a 2 with the 3 coming on a crankbait a half hour before sunset. Other fish were on senkos. Would have had one more fish (size unknown) when line broke on hookset. 3 Days before full moon. Kind of cold, kind of breezy.
City: FolsomTips: Fishing is better during the day than night - especially pre-dawn and sunset.

Water Temp: 80s
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Reguarding Rick and his earlier post. Rick, I was on Amador the same night. Left at 2:30 with only one other boat on the water, must have been you! Only got 4 fish that night, but the biggest went almost 6. All on Black Power Worms. No top water bite for us. I threw a buzz bait for over an hour.
City: TracyTips: Black Berkley Power worms. 7" and 10". Fish um down the rocks. Stop when you feel grass

Water Temp: 80
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Fished full moon from about 6 pm till 3 am. Lake down about 8 feet and seems to be dropping about one foot per week. Daytime air temp was 10 degrees cooler than previous day and I think this affected the bite. I was hoping the cooler weather and wind would cool the water off enough for a frog and topwater bite. No frog bite but there was a topwater bite on with my friend catching most of these fish with a fluke cast to boils. I got one fish on a chug bug. Otherwise, fishing was pretty slow - many small (tiny) fish with only about 3 to 5 decent fish with my friend getting the biggest at 3.5 pounds about 9 pm I think on a Senko. We found fish both very shallow down to 20 feet but not very deep although we tried to 40 feet. We left around 3 am because we had gone for several hours with only one 12" fish and it was pretty cold for summer. Fishing should pick up with more stable weather. We threw crankbaits, topwater, jigs, worms, senkos, and spinnerbaits.
City: FolsomTips: Move around to find the topwater areas - Rock Creek had some boils that reminded me of the stripers at New Hogan. Fish didn't really want to eat anything at night, not even senkos. We got some small fish bites on big baits but the fish couldn't get the hook and wouldn't eat the smaller baits which they could have gotten in their mouth. The next full moon is September and may offer a decent early fall bite.

Water Temp: 80-82
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Another trip to Amador (perhaps the last one till fall) for myself and my buddy from school. On the water at around 5PM. Tried fishing the point across the blue docks for nothing - hits and misses on a Rat-L-Trap, and losing one fish on a drop shot. Moved over to the North Side of the lake back to my usual stomping grounds: Points along the spillway. Fish were holding in about 15-20 feet of water off the drop-off next to the spillway. Buddy hits one nice fish on a 6" Robo Worm in purple, 3lbs. Moving off closer to Mountain Springs, fished an exposed point, I hit a nice fish at 3lbs on a Pumpkin Baby Brush hog in about 30ft of water. Fish were randomly popping Shad at the surface, was able to hook and lose a small dink, less than a lb on the Rat-L-Trap. Moving off to the left point of Jackson Creek found more fish busting shad, losing another two on the Rat-L-Trap. Buddy hits another fish, dink on the Robo Worm. After sundown, fished at the anchor for cats - nothing. 9:00 moved off back to the points and spillway. Using my trusty black flippin tube, got a few hits and misses; buddy getting two dinks again on the Robo. Finally get a good hit on the tube, set the hook on a nice kicker about 5lbs. Moved off towards the dam, both of us getting hits and bumps. Finally headed back to the ramp. A group of guys were at the ramp for a weigh in - they were from Motherlode. There was no way we were going to be able to pull out so we headed back to the North Side of the lake where I was able to pull one more fish on a Watermelon/Red Flake Senko. Off the water @ about 12:45, home in Sac at 1:30.
City: SacramentoTips: Fish were not holding directly on the points like they have been, but off to the sides of points in about 20-30 feet of water, then shallower by night fall. Last fish was caught in less than 5 feet of water right off the bank. Use lots of smelly jelly.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: fished from 9 to around 3:30 am. caught 30+ between four people. mostly small, a few 3-4 pounders and one 5 # on a drop shot. Good crank bait bite. Nothing on blades, few on senkos. I think there was only one or two other boats on the water.
City: nvTips: you can sit at home and talk about fishing or you can go out and catch a fish

Water Temp: BAth water warm
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Float tubed Amador with my wife (who continues to smoke me this year) Sunday night and the fishing was better than last week, We had 7 fish over 4lbs with the largest just shy of 6lbs.With a total of 16 fish caught. Luckily there were no Tournaments on the lake this weekend as its pretty beat up by the time we do our Sunday night trips. Once again we caught fish, dropshotting, and blades with one fish (the largest on a Senko). On the lake at 7pm and off at midnight. I
Tips: I caught one fish on the senko and I was hopping it around in the water as the bass seem very active , I could not get them to touch a Tex rig set up.Only the drop shots and spinner baits. The fish were from shore to out to 20ft deep, blades in night time colors with colorado blades and a Yamamoto 5"grub color 135 as a trailer

Water Temp: 82 Degrees
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Was fortunate enough to get out tonight to fish. Took my girlfriend along with me to enjoy the moonlit night and a little bit of bass fishing.
On the water at sundown. Started off fishing the main body points throwing around a black flippin' tube into rocky areas getting bumps but no connects. Finally found the fish on my usual areas - points near the spillway. Also fished the spillway itself on the flat picking up a few dinks and two fish @ 2 lbs. As the moon came up the fishing got a bit tougher, but before we left picked up a nice 5 lb kicker off the spillway flat. Hey, not a bad night of fishing. Back at the ramp at midnight.
City: SacramentoTips: Same pattern as my trip the previous Saturday. Bump and drag your baits, work shallow and use lots of smelly jelly. Off topic - There wouldnt happen to be anyone here that's looking for a partner to fish draw tournaments would there? I'm look to start getting serious about tournament fishing. Please let me know!

Water Temp: 85
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: After several stable weather 100 degree plus days, started at 7:30 pm with cooler temps (air about 88) and a delta breeze. Only decent fish during light hours was on a spinnerbait. After dark, senkos were the only thing that worked. Biggest night fish was 3.9 pounds. Pre-dawn bite was underwhelming - only about 5-6 fish biggest going 3.9 pounds again. Only picked up about 8-10 keepers total with top five between 2 and 3.9 pounds. A decent night bite ended around 2 am when about a 20 mph stiff breeze from the south east came in for about 2 hours. The bite didn't start up again until pre-dawn. Off the water before 7 am.
City: folsomTips: While it could have been the weather, I'd say don't fish here within 5 days after a tournament as I think the fish get very spooked. At this point, I'd say wait till fall.

Water Temp: 80+ surface
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Yes those water temps are right. I wasnt aware of there being two clubs out there, but I do know that Riverbank's BASS club was. As my partner and I were pulling in a bit past midnight, they were all tied up to the blue docks getting ready for weigh-in. Anyways about the fishing - it was ok for the little while that we tried. Started off fishing the point across from the docks around sundown for one fish at 2 lbs on my 2nd cast using a black flippin' tube. Worked the north side of the lake by the spillway after that, missing a few hits and bumps and getting one more 2 lber after quitting and heading off to the coves for catfish.
City: Sacramento, CATips: Water is real warm but that isnt stopping the fish. Fish slow and up close to the bank. Smelly jelly is a must.

Water Temp: 87-90
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Fished from 6 pm until 2 am. Caught and released over 20 fish with the smallest being as big as the bait and the largest just over 5 lbs.
City: Cirtus HeightsTips: Lake was busy due to 2 club tournaments.(don't ask me how both clubs got a permit for the same night). There were boats everywhere. We left due to too many idiots running full speed around the lake in the dark.
Fished fast and outside the weedlines using plastic, crankbaits and topwater.

Water Temp: 74-84
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Fished with a friend from 7:00 pm till 3:30 am. Fishing was okay for numbers and poor for size - caught about 20 fish. Biggest went 4.6 pounds, second biggest went 2.5 pounds, all others were below 2 pounds and way too many were under 1 pound. One fish was only 4 inches long. Jigs and Senkos seemed to work but when switched to the big Senko (7") to get bigger fish, still seemed to get same sized fish (8 inces to 2 pounds) but they still bit the big bait. Too bad they cost about a buck apiece - no fun catching an 8 incher and having it cost a buck. No topwater, frog, crankbait or spinnerbait success.
City: FolsomTips: Cover a lot of water. Fish were on points and in coves at depths of 1 foot to about 15 feet. A few mosquitos were out.

Water Temp: 74-78 Surface T
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Ended up fishing for bass since I didnt have any bait for catfish and when I arrived, and the lodge was closed.
SO, I tied on a senko on one rod, a dug jig on another rod, and a brush bog on a another and headed towards the points and coves by the spillway in my little Sea Eagle Inflatable. Fishing was slow, but I managed 3 bass to 3lbs, all on the Brush Hog. Fish were holding up close to the bank in about 3-4 feet of water right at the weedlines. Few nips on the Senko but nothing buttoned. At about 1:30 AM a bit of a wind kicked up out of the east making bait presentation troublesome so I decided to head back to the ramp.
It seems there was a club tournament on the lake on Saturday as indicated by the 15+ boats that headed back to the ramp at about midnight.
City: Sacramento, CATips: Cast up close to shore and drag your bait. Use lots of smelly jelly.

Water Temp: 75-80
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: I just read Larry's report from the nite before. Joe Miller, Tom Ericson and I fished from 5:30am to noon and had found fourty or more bass. We had two boats covering more water this way not knowing the bite yet, I found the bait fish in the back of the coves with 1-2 lb bass chasing them. Using a dart head with a Blue Pearl grub s/t landing it right on top of the school the bass were hitting it on every cast, Found some bigger bass around the down trees. Green pumking Senko or lizards got the 3-4 lbers. The senkos you did not feel the bit until you picked up the bait. Mid morning I started using a JK brown/Brown jig with a #180 grub (larry's special grub) find more bass in 1-2 lbs. Before noon I was in the back of a cove with my jig around rocks with shade, this 8.9 lb cat grabed my jig and ran under the boat pulling me from side to side before I got him netted. Early Joe got a 6.7 cat and the same JK jig (my special home made). With the 4th of July weekend here his is the place to be, I saw four boats all morning.
City: rocklinTips: find some moving bait, stay in the shade and have fun, good luck.

Water Temp: 80
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Lake Amador is a lake that giveth and taketh away when fishing, depending on her mood. Bass fishing is often great or horrible. My buddy Rick Tietz, owner of the increasingly popular Blade Runner Tackle and I decided to combine our 60 years of fishing knowledge on the lake to see if we could get her to give up some nice bass! We started at 8 pm last night and quit at 8 am this morning. Well, Amador gave and gave and gave!! We finally put a good plan together for night and morning. We boated 52 bass to 4 1/4 lbs and I continue my winning ways with catfish (see Clear Lake report), catching an 8 pounder on a 6" Senko at night, and catching another 8 pounder on a crankbait in the early morning. After catching a 5-2 on a Snag Proof frog on my previous trip, I started the evening with another frog fish - a little over 3 lbs. Rick and I each missed a blowup. The night fishing was pretty good from 11 pm to 1 am and the rest of the night was fair. I used a 6" Senko most of the night and Rick was using brush hogs - mostly sour grape color. Worms did not seem to do well. By first light we had 24 bass, but the size was disappointing - mostly 1 1/2 to 2 pounders. After first light, the fun began. I witnessed the most awesome spinnerbait bite I have ever seen! Rick caught most of them on his 5/8 oz Rainbow Trout spinnerbait. The bass loved it to the point that he was getting bit on EVERY cast when we located a feeding school of bass!! It was crazy. With the hot weather setting in, I know the early bite would be good. I used spooks and cranks and caught a few and eventually caught a few on his spinner bait. We boated 28 bass in about 2 hours and lost I don't know how many. The bass were bigger too - several from 3 1/2 to 4 1/4. No real big ones however. Numbers-wise, that is probably one of our best Amador trips ever! Maybe after our combined 60 years - we have finally learned something, har!!!!
City: Yuba CityTips: We fished open water points, waiting for the bass to run shad up shallow. After the sun was on the water for awhile, we started fishing shadows. Bass were shallow early and late, and at night were anywhere from 5 to 20 feet. We don't doubt that larger bass were deeper, but they didn't want to bite. Points were better in the daylight and walls better at night. Go figure!!

Water Temp: 75
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Fished here wed. and thur. night. Caught a few 2-3lb fish on wed night using worms in 15 to 20 ft. but didn't really try fishing shallow so I went back thur. night with my son Tom and his friend Jordan and caught over 30 3 to 4lb.bass. Most of them came from point on the south side of Jackson creek at night using sour grape brush hogs and then in the morning we fished my 1oz. rainbow trout spinner bait from the front of the main shallow point of mountain springs and up into the creek staying in the shade.
