Water Temp: 78-81
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Fished from 5:30 pm till 1:15 am. Only 3 fish and they were well under 2 pounds. 2 caught before dark and one after dark. Caught fish on topwater, jig, and worm. Very slow. I saw one very dedicated angler pull in a fish about 10 pounds around 8:15 pm so someone had a good day.
City: FolsomTips: Fish deep and slow. Tournament there this coming Saturday so the lake was crowded with pre-fishermen.

Report: Nobody on the water at 5:00am,i'ts to dam hot. Got in before the sun came up and found one top water bite with a little spook in shad colors. moved from the dan area to one of the back coves finding one of my first 5.0 plus largie. I saw a fish jump next to a tree, gave him a frog and bam.
Working down the bank and staying from 5-35 ft., using lizards and brush hogs picking up a few 2.0 pounders. Back in a cove on a point draging a watermellon/red flake in 25-30 ft got another 5.0 plus larggie. by 10am the sun was hot so time for lunch and home.
City: rocklinTips: get out early or late nite and work it deep and slow for the big fish. Take a friend and let them enjoy the heat too.

Report: The warmer weather is making the water green and murkey. But the fishing was good for the guys from Basin BassMasters for there all nighter. Frist tourney was from 6:30pm to Midnight. We saw some nice big fish, 4's, 5's and some over 6 pounds. Back on the water at 1am to 7am saturday. Joe Miller came in with a big bag five fish 16.0 lbs. Most of the guys did use long black worms with a blue color. texas style, jigs, spinner bait. Dennie Howard and I used a green pumkin lizards in 20-35 ft and baggin a 4 lmb and a 5 + larggie. As the sun went down the bite got better with dark colored worms, some with a currley tail and some with a flat tail. Jigs in black/blue.

Water Temp: 80-81
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Fished 4 pm till 12:30 am. One day after full moon. 5 feet below max pool. One small fish, very few bites. Cold front, wind. Was heavily pressured with 3 tournaments on the weekend. I knew all this before going but took a chance anyway. Probably early AM bite is best. Fishing may have picked up if I'd stayed later.
City: FolsomTips: Air temp dipped into low 50's - bring jacket.

Report: I feel a little guilty posting this after my good buddy Rick's post. Our night was different. I got to Amador about 2 pm to look the lake over in preparation for 2 guide trips. I found one shadow at the end of a small cove off the main body and threw my old style green Snagproof frog about 2 feet from the edge. A 6 1/2 lb+ bass exploded on it - I was so stunned I almost forgot to set the hook. Wow, what a start. About 5 pm I stuck a 4 1/4 lb bass on a Rodstrainer jig in the Jackson Creek arm. I didn't expect this kind of size as the post-front was moving in. I met my clients at 6:30 - a couple about to be married and who LOVE to bass fish. I don't know if I have ever guided a female angler who loved bass fishing so much and worked so hard at it! He has to love it - He fishes the Lake Tahoe keys for bass! I decided he needed to learn how to fish a Senko since he had never seen one before. She was fishing an 8 inch worm. I caught the first bass on a jig - again, over 4 lbs. Soon he got bit twice on the Senko but missed them. I switched him to the #214 (bluegill) Senko and about sunset he lets out a yell - something real big was on his line. Did this bass ever carry on! I soon netted his FIRST Senko bass - all 6 lbs 3 oz of her! What could I say - "yea, the Senko a pretty good bait!!" Wow - talk about exciting - especially in a small area as we were again in the back of a cove. So, the first 4 bass - over 21 lbs - gotta love the post spawn - I guess! After dark, things returned to normal - 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 lb bass on worms. The soon-to-be-a-new-wife caught her first two. After she caught a few the blond jokes started - yes, she is a beautiful blond! We worked our way up Rock Creek and finally caught 3 on one point, averaging 2 lbs each. FINALLY, he gets the good bite on a junebug Dead Ringer and she made a lot of noise! She tipped the scale at 4 lb 10 oz. We ended around 2:30 am with 13 bass and a fabulous limit over 25 lbs. Great fishing and lots of laughts! The night was beautiful too - very little wind. I tried to take a nap but couldn't. Met my next client at 5:45 am. He is the fellow that had his first bass trip with me on March 29 - at Amador. He did very well on that trip, but this post-front morning found no active bass, also no surface activity. I started off with a small frog fish and them we both got a thrill as a 5 1/4 pounder blew up on the green imposter near the spillway. Wow!! I caught 2 more 2 to 3 pounders on jigs and that was it for the 4 1/2 hours. My client had several hits and stuck one or two but couldn't put any in the boat this time. He says he has been doing well since our first trip, just not this one. Those frog fish kept me awake all the way back to Yuba City!!
City: Yuba CityTips: It is hard to totally figure out a pattern for Amador right now since there has been extreme heat and a summer front with thunder. I was a little surprised the fishing was as good as it was - a least on Wed. Watch the water level at Amador and as long as it doesn't drop too fast (it appears to be down now about 6 or 7 feet), there should still be some shallow fish - even during the day. It really is amazing that a near 7 lb bass will be in the 3 to 4 foot depth of 86 degree water! Eventually the larger bass will move out to main lake points, walls, and ledges.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Fished from 4:30 pm till 12:30 am. New moon phase, just entered a cooling trend after many 100+ days. Slow fishing day and night. Maybe the sudden weather change was the problem. Not a typical afternoon/evening at Amador. Got about 5 fish, max size 3 pounds. 5 fish in 8 hours. Biggest fish came from dam area points on senko, second biggest fish came inside cove on crankbait.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Fished with a friend from 5 pm till 2:30 am. Jig bite was on in afternoon. After dark, soft plastics and jigs worked. Lots of smaller fish (20+) and a few decent fish with the larget going 5-5 on a jig.
City: FolsomTips: Better fish were out in deeper water. Bring warm clothing - it still gets cold at night.

Water Temp: 75 and up
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Well, I went back again yesterday with a buddy that had only been bass fishing a couple of times. We fished for a short period (my buddy wanted to fish for Crappie, and we did well on those tasty slabs) starting at sundown starting at the deep main body point that sits in between Cat Cove and Carson Arm, and then cutting across to Doney Bay. Like Friday night there were lots of dinks, but I did manage to bag a very nice 7.3 lb fish just inside of the Carson Arm. The only other mentionable fish went about 3.5. My buddy got a few barely legal fish on his Dead Ringer.
City: Sacramento, CATips: All I used was a Zoom Superhog in Black/Red, casting up onto the bank and hopping it back to the boat. Fish were sitting from 10 feet on up. Use lots of smelly jelly and be prepared to encounter a few weeds here and there.

Water Temp: 75-80
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Fished the points and abroad until about 2:30AM last night. Scoring a fish here and there with many of the bites coming short and subtle. Lots of rats, a couple of 1-2 lbers. Largest fish for me was about 3 and 1/4. Tried different areas of the lake, including the points off Mountain Springs, Rock Creek, Doney Bay and Jackson Creek. Fish were pretty much anywhere there was a bit of rock.
City: Sacramento, CATips: Used everything from Lipless Cranks, Senkos, Jigs and Baby Brush Hogs. Biggest fish came on a jig in about 10ft of water. Bites on Jigs/Worms were so subtle. Dont waste time waiting for the fish to tug - set the hook right away!

Water Temp: 65
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Got on the water about 5:45 AM and went north. My partner lost one that would have gone 3 or better on top water right off the bat. I was soon to follow in his foot steps. I lost one that would have gone 3-4 on a buzz bait. We had at least 7 fish before 7:00 AM on top water, but just could not seal the deal bringing them to the boat. Top water died then we went cranking for the big one's and the big ones we found. I immediately picked up a 3 lber in 20 feet of water of a main body point. From there on the bite for us was wide open for about 2 hours on crank baits. I lost 2 big fish right in a row while my partner was scrambling around looking for the net. The first one was 5+ easy lost her right at the boat. The next one was 7+ easy lost her when she decided to do the air show. She came out of the water at least 3 feet in the air me and my partner both had the same response when we seen her "dude that's a frigen big fish" right when we said that she spit my crank bait damn near right back at me. So the day ended good for us even though we lost several big fish I am happy knowing that what I was throwing was producing quality fish.
City: RosevilleTips: Keep your rod tip down when you are cranking in the big one's off top water and crank baits.

Water Temp: 72
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Took Fri off and decided to make it a 4 day weekend. Slow morning, but the bite picked up in the early afternoon. Biggest fish was 4'3 on a rip bait, but lost an 8-10 pounder as well. The fish were definitely in a post spawn pattern. The plastic and jig bite was slow, but the fish seemed willing to come up and get reaction baits. This is typical of post spawn fish. The one thing I like about Amador fish is that they can bounce back in a hurry due to the abundance of food in the lake. Best lures were rip and top water. I also hit a 15 pound cat on a zipper worm and a 4 pound cutbow on a jig. Did get some other bass on brush hogs and jigs, but no size. Finished at 3pm with 25 fish or so.
City: RosevilleTips: Throw reaction baits and stay erratic. Make the fish hit out of aggression.

Report: I had a boatload at Amador today - father and 2 sons - maybe 18 and 21 years old. They were visiting from Texas. We fished Senkos - mostly color #221, worms, and a little drop-shotting. Dad got the biggest at 2 lbs 10 oz, I had a 2 1/4 and the son that fished the whole time got one just about 2 lbs. About noon - in the main body - I threw a junebug 7" Power worm on a 10 foot breakline and hooked a good one - 6 to 8 lbs. Nobody could get the net in time and we lost her. We got to see her however. Because of 4 in the boat, we only fished worms and drop-shotted. We were there during an approaching cold front and it seemed to slow the bite a bit.
City: Yuba CityTips: The person they were staying with fished a little in his boat and landed a 5 pounder using a Chug Bug topwater lure.

Water Temp: 70 avg
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: A buddy and I checked out the post-spawn bite yesterday afternoon and evening. Found them all over the place, with points kicking out better quality. No jig bite for me. My buddy had great success using 6
Tips: Fish were shallow from 10 feet on up. I was purposely fishing deeper water from 15 feet down for bigger fish, but not many were there. Biggest fish came from less than 5 feet of water!

Water Temp: 74-79.5
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Well, it appears the fish spawned awhile back and have had time to get hungry! A friend and I fished from about 7 pm till 2:30 am about 1 day before the full moon. Winds were light at first then steady but not strong. Caught fish on spinnerbait, crankbait, jig, worm, and senko. I lost one that was easily over 5 at dusk on a big senko (had on for about 3 seconds and one big jump) but thanks to my friend, we had about a 20 pound limit with five fish between 4 and 5 pounds and only a half dozen below 3 pounds. He caught most of the big fish - I only got one, a 4 pound 7 ounce fish. All large fish were spawned out and I couldn't believe how low they weighed on the scale for their size! These fish would have easily been 1-2 pounds heavier a few weeks ago. Caught fish on points and way back in coves with the deepest about 15'. Many were right on the bank or holding on wood. It was a long time between bites except at sunset when the bite was going strong.
City: FolsomTips: Throw big 7" white senkos with white flake on 5/0 EWG hooks.

Report: Fished 4 hrs in the morning under fog most of the time. Caught & released 8 total up to 2 lbs. on worms at 5 to 10 ft. Most were at points or in coves near points. Looks like most of the beds are about empty. Gil, the local bass guide, gave us really good advice.
City: San JoseTips: finesse fishing

Water Temp: 72-75
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Fished from 5:00 pm till 12:30 am on first quarter moon. Very little wind considering valley had strong delta breeze. Dead calm around 9 pm. Fishing slow and steady - got about 8 fish with biggest going a bit under 3. Worm, jig, senko worked. Debris around launch ramp almost all gone and lake has fallen 2 feet in last 2 weeks. No big fish to be seen, maybe post spawn or not enough moonlight or just an off day. Latrobe road potholes have mostly been fixed (were bad).
City: FolsomTips: Better fish in 10 - 15 feet of water about 100 feet back into coves on south-facing banks. Some bait being chased to surface in backs of coves but no topwater success, yet.

Report: First time to make it to amador this season, had 2 fun days of Bass fishing, I thought the bass bite was pretty good for amador, with clody and cool conditions and little wind to speak of on satuday as I woke to the rumbling of about 7-8 bass boats,I thought conditions might be that there would be lots of pressure but when we got out on the water about 8:30 the first hour of fishing we had already caught a limit of fish between us largest being 4'14" and several in the low 3's a couple of 2's all in all about 30 fish caught the first day. Sunday fished and lake was pretty melow from the day before and the bite was hot got out even later than sautrday hitting the water at approx. 9:02 amd by 11:30 had fished one certain area that I knew would be hot and it payed off on this certain point it offers a variety of features, that bass love and I would have to say we probablly caught 25- 30 fish in this one area with the biggest fish going 7'15" I must say I really love fishing this lake.It was a great first time out here. I hope with the increase in fees tha past two years they will keep up with the maintance and overall cleanliness of this facility by summer it tends to look like a dump instead, Sad to see even worse there are so called fisherman who cant clean up after themselves yet.
City: Topaz Lake areaTips: Can you say wormin, throw it, and stich it and you'll be a nailin bass all day long. Oh and dont be suprised if theres some early season top water a HAAPPENING!! There was a certain cove that you just might get lucky in wait a min, I think it had a creek in it..he he..Be back her May 5-7 so that the Mighty Triton will dominate these waters once again
