Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Well, we were supposed to be going camping at Amador on 4/6-4/8. We took a ride up on the 6th only to ind that it was still pretty wet and windy. I made dierent reservations or the 9-12th. I saw Hemphill ishing the damn. (nice boat)Well, we arrived again on monday and stayed till wednesday night, we saw some dark clouds coming so we let in a hurry:) We caught most o our ish on magic worms at around 5-10 t. At night I used brush hawgs and ended up with a 7 pounder on tuesday night. That was the only one I caught with any nice size to it. Most o the ish were within 2-3 lbs. We were in the very back on Carson arm and we saw some GIANTS cruising the bank. 15 + easy. They almost looked like carp cause they were so damn big. I talked to Lee up in the Lodge and he said that they went out on tuesday night and spotted some lake records. I love that lake, I think I am going to have to head up this week.

Report: Went ishing at Amador, second trip ever or me. Fished Wed while overcast with rain in late evening. Did best in Carson arm ishing 3-15 eet last 2 hrs o daylight and irst hr o am. Used watermelon senkos and green pumpkin brush hogs. All ish 2-3 lbs. Caught 4, lost several. Saw some 4-5 lb emales on nests, mainly Jackson arm. Bait shop says north side o lake bass spawned already, but south side may still be happening. Tough daytime ishing, couldn't get anything to bite. Hated the pothole ridden roads leading to campsites. Tough on the bass boat trailer!Uncut grass around the place gave me terrible allergies. Any tips on ishing Amador appreciated.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Fished Thursday aternoon and night, and Friday. Only averaged about 8 ish per trip - very windy both trips, with rain and heavy wind on Fri. Caught most o our bass on 5 and 6 inch Senkos in black and watermelon colors. Biggest was only 3 pounds - we did not get the big bite this time. I saw a lot o bass on Thurs, but only 2 big ones. Most o our bass were quality - 2 to 2 1/2 lbs. Clients did pretty well, considering the weather. They did miss several bites. We ound some bass in the coves, but the bigger ones were on points. Couldn't ish jigs well because o slime and weeds.
City: Yuba CityTips: Fish or the bass you can see, and in the brush. Slow moving plastics seems to be the key now. Please release any big emales you catch!!

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Fished with a riend o mine on Thursday rom about 5:30 pm till 11 pm. A little ront had just passed through and had more eect o the ish than I thought. Fishing was slow - several bites, mostly on worms but only 2 or 3 in the boat. I did ish a Weapon Jig beore dark in Jackson Creek, trying to get some deep ish we spotted to bite. At about 40 eet I elt the jig get heavy and I set the hook. Glad I did - It was 8 lb 2 oz. We took photos and released it immediately so she wouldn't go belly up. She went down ine. The night was surprising cold and damp, and so was the ishing. Timing is everything. Any evening since then would have been better, I trust. But an 8 is a good ish on any trip.
City: Yuba CityTips: Obviously, some o the big emales are still deep, but will come up as soon as the water warms about 4 or 5 degrees. The crank and rip bite should take o, and the jig bite will always be good.

Report: I guided some nice olks Saturday aternoon and night. We had a good trip, catching 10 largemouth and a rare Warmouth bass. The largest was 2-14 and the smallest, 12 inches. I elt pretty good about the number, since a cold ront was just leaving the area. The highlight was a 15 year old girl catching her irst FISH - a 1-12 bass on a Zoom junebug lizard. We ished the Carson arm in the aternoon, and then Mountain Spring in the evening. Ater dark, we tried Rock Creek, but no takers. We did catch some on main lake points, about 15 eet deep, all on worms. I threw a jig 'til I was silly - not a bite! Actually, I did that so my clients would eel good with all their worm ish!!! A very nice trip!
City: Yuba CityTips: The worm bite seems to be pretty good, day and night. The jig bite is good during the day. A ew days o sun will get the bass moving to shallow water.

Never got another bite. Pulled out at 3:00.

Report: Arrived about 8am 4th cast at shore, o a point netted a 3 plus emale. I thought I had a chance, but the wind was very srong and I couldn't stay out on the points o the main lake. I continued to ish in the coves 5 to 35 eet o water but only managed a ew bites and 1 lost ish at the boat. ( bad hook set....heh it happens )With the rain and wind I decided to go or some trout. Within 2 hours I had 3, the smallest being 2 pounds. Caught the bass on a texas rigged blue leck power worm and the trout throwing a countdown rapala lure. Water Temp: 48
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Fished a late aternoon-night trip with a client on Thursday as a very cold storm was moving in. We got the trip in beore the rain, but not the wind. We were limited as to where we could ish - too cold to be in any wind!! We ished jigs 90 percent o the time, because we were looking or big ish. This time, we were successul! He caught a 1 and 2 1/4 pounder beore dark in the main body. They were about 30 eet deep. I missed two at about 40 eet. Right ater dark, I landed a nice 2 pounder in Mountain Spring area, and I missed another. As the clouds got thicker, the bite picked up a bit. Yea, right - instead o one bite an hour, we got TWO bites an hour - WOW! But about an hour ater dark, ishing a little cut in the main body, he got the bite we were waiting or, and hoped we would get with the incoming ront. We were surprised how shallow this monster was, about 10 eet. Ater an amazing ight or water this cold, I netted a beautiul 8 lb 11 oz bass or him. Ater photos, we put her right back where she was caught. He caught it on a Weapon jig with a Yamamoto grub trailer. We each caught another bass in the Jackson arm, his about 2 lbs and mine about 1 1/4. Six bass to 8-11 - not bad or the middle o winter!
City: Yuba CityTips: Shakin' worms and jigs have been the best or me this winter. Night ishing is slow because the bass just hunker down in all the weeds that are available. As the lake ills, the areas rom the inside weed edges to the bank will be good when the lake warms a bit.
