Water Temp: 48
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: I ished Tuesday with a riend o mine and his girlriend, and we all had quite a day. Ater a good breakast at the lodge, we started ishing about 11am, using mostly Weapon jigs and shakin' Magic worms. We thought we would have some warm sun, but instead it clouded up and turn quite cold. In spite o that, we landed 21 bass, and missed another 20 or so. About 10 o them were rom 2 1/2 to 3 3/4 lbs. No big bass were active that we could see. We ished all over the lake, keying on steep banks and o-shore structure. The jigs really produced the biggest ish, with brown/orange being the best color. Most o our ish were caught rom 25 to 45 eet. The hour beore dark was good or quality bass. Only 3 o the ish were dinks. A very nice day, indeed!!
City: Yuba CityTips: The bass are schooled, so move around until you ind them. With all the cold nights, the ish will be deep. A warm aternoon or two should get the bigger bass moving.

Report: Another tu day or me.Same story,I got my bites at 20-25t. I landed a couple and missed a ew.I trolled or trout with a blue/silver rapala and a yellow/white jointed rapala at 100yds.They both cought ish up to 3.75 lb.Very risky ish.It was another nice day with Bald Eagles at the lakeside, turkeys gobbling and a couple o deer. One gentleman ished a spot right behind me where I missed a bite and he was happy to say he got a 4lber and a 8lber. OUCH!!That hurt! But I may have learned something that I'll try later.
City: MantecaTips: I tried 20 and 12 lb test,black/red jig,brown/brown jig,zoom trailer,pork trailer,rattle,no rattle.For me I recieved the same result.

Report: It was a very tu day or me.I managed six bites, two hit and runs, two came o at the boat and two solid keepers. All bites came on jigs in 20-25t,except or one minnow bite in 20t.Nothing or me on cranks or live dads.I always use 20lb big game when jig ishing, maybe lighter line would work better under these conditions.Very cold day, clear water and occasional breeze.
City: MantecaTips: When you get bit make sure he's on . Be more patient.

Water Temp: 49
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Had a good day today. Went point hopping....mostly graphing, and looking or ish. They are all bunched up now, and when you ind'em, the schools are big. The main creek channels were the key. First spot with active ish yielded a 6.5 ,a 3.5, and a 4 . Ater the school dispersed, went looking again and ound a hump on a creekchannel in 45 t. that had ish. Immediately got two ish ...a 2 lb'er, and another 4. Dropshot out produced the spoon today. All solid, at ish. Didn't see much bait activity, just ish....suspended three or our eet o the bottom. Large trout Everywhere now. Caught two on plastic worms...on the all. The low pressure was just starting to come in....might have helped turn on the bite some.
City: WiltonTips: Use your electronics to locate ish in schools, and then dropshot them with 6 to 8 lb. test, with 2" & 3" worms. Be patient. Even though you know they're down there, the bites may come a bit slow. Follow the creek channels out to 45-50 t.

A good winter day with Bald Eagles at the lakeside. No biguns, No trout or us trollin on top. There was alot o hit and runs.

Report: I brought a 1st time bass isherman out today. On our 1st deep rock spot we hooked up a double. What a way to start. His irst bass on a worm, mine came on the ol aithul jig.The ish started at about 20t.On the 2nd spot he gets another then I stick a 4-6 in 8 to 10 t.We continued with deep rock banks and managed 11 keepers along with alot o missed/short strikes.By the end o the day we got bit as shallow as 1t.The rookie lost what appeared to be a quality ish that was rippin drag into deep water, duh he was so excited he orget to RIP them lips.Alittle razzin rom me then a 3lber spits my jig at me.Live n learn, it was a un day!I got 5 ish or 14-1 and the rookie is hooked. He said "This is easy"
City: MantecaTips: Nothing on shad pattern All ish came on Brown/Brown jig and Witches T

Water Temp: 63
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Guided Friday night and again on Saturday. The night trip was kind o tough - lots o short bites. We only put 5 in the boat but two were nice - a 4-5 on a 10" black/chartreuse Power Worm, and a at 6-4 on a Weapon jig. One was caught in the main body and the other in Mountain Spring. Our other ish were 2-12, 2, and about 1 pound, all on jigs. We tried very hard to get the deep, quality ish to bite - didn't work. We ound the two big ish on steep dropos in shadows. Crankbaits and spinnerbaits did not produce or us.The trip on Saturday was un, with 6 bass caught. The clients were late, so we missed the early bite. Didn't start till 7 am. All o our ish were caught on Rodstrainer jigs rom 10 to 35 eet o water. Client got the biggest - a 2-10 on an island top. We had a couple o 2 pounders and the rest about 1 1/2 lbs. Lots o pressure on the lake, mostly trout ishermen. Shad schools could be ound rom the surace to 70 eet. Amazing. The bass are at all depths now, but there was no topwater. We might have started too late or topwater, but we tried.
City: Yuba CityTips: Jigs seemed to be producing well, day and night. Maybe because o the sudden cold weather, the reaction bite seemed to die at Amador. No ish working shad, even the shad on the surace. Water had dropped rapidly, moving the ish deeper.

Water Temp: 73
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Fish with a riend late yesterday aternoon and at night. Had an even better trip, numbers-wise, than a trip two weeks ago. We landed 12 bass with the ive largest going 22 1/4 lbs. The two biggest were 6-3 amd 6-6. We really ished all over the lake and really couldn't ind a hotspot. The ish were active (or Amador) most o the time, though it still was a long time between bites. We only caught 1 topwater bass - a 2 3/4 on a super spook. Got a ew beore dark on Weapon jigs near steep banks. The two big bass came on a jig and a 10" black/chartreuse Power Worm. I also caught a 12+ pound catish on a black/blue 10" Power Worm. That was a thrill or awhile!! The ish seemed to be a bit more shallow than last trip, in act, the 6-6 was caught in 3 eet o water. Lots o small bass biting o the tails o Yamamoto grubs, instead o taking the whole jig. Overall, a very nice trip - even without a monster bass hooked!
City: Yuba CityTips: Lake is dropping some, but not too ast. Weeds should not be a problem or too much longer. Alternate between worms and jigs to see what the bass really want. Jigs should be better as the water cools!!

Water Temp: 77
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Wow, we just got our nice trip in beore the howling delta winds hit, and the temp dropped 20+ degrees. Client and I started about 6 PM and I got a 13" bass on the second cast, luckly not the irst! It hit a Rodstrainer jig. The heat had put the shad down, so there was not much surace activity at all. I did get a 2 1/4 pounder on a chug bug topwater bait. Just beore dark, client gets a nice 2 1/2 pounder on a Terminator spinnerbait near the mouth o Jackson creek. Ater dark, or an hour or so, we had the customary dead time. Then, about 9:30, I had a good tick on a 12" Power Worm and was able to land a at 6 pounder in the main body. She was about 20 eet deep. Two casts later, I mistook a big bass or a clump o weeds, and missed it. What a sickening eeling!! I caught 2 more worm ish, one almost 3 pounds. Finally, my client, who was ishing a Weapon jig, set the hook on a good 'un, and I get to net a beautiul 7 lb 3 oz beauty. This was about 11:45 PM, and the ish seemed to be moving a bit shallower - he caught her in about 10 eet o water. Ater I caught another shallow worm ish, about 2-6, client hooked another big one, but lost it in some wood. About 1 AM, the delta breeze started, the moist air set in, and the bass went out, somewhere. They just shut o. A very nice trip with 8 bass total, with top ive at about 21 lbs. Not bad or a Sept. evening at Amador!
City: Yuba CityTips: Water temp will have to cool a bit or the surace activity to pick up. Reaction baits just wern't working well or us. Seems to be a worm and jig bite - 10 to 25 eet, on steep banks and some points. Don't shake worm or big ish - just pull it - slowly!!
