Water Temp: 50ish?
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: We had a successful trip 2 weeks ago. I caught a 6lb largemouth on a 4" Witches T with a split shot rig across the boat ramp. It was in less than 10ft of water. We caught 2 other 1 lb fish both on the same rig.
City: CampbellTips: Plastic worms were the only thing that worked for us

Water Temp: 55-60 degrees
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Walked the shore from the east dam to the little cove past the west dam. I fished from 3:00 - 8:00 PM. I caught a couple of dinks in the afternoon with 4" and 6" plastic worms in black and crawdad color patterns. In the early evening, I finally hooked into a good fish in about 10-15 feet of water off the point where the canal pumps water into the lake. I landed a fat 20" female! I didn't get a good girth measurement, but she was at least 5 pounds. I caught her on a 6" black/silver sparkle curly tail worm with a Texas-rigged brass and glass combo. And get this: the fish had been gut-hooked previously with a live-bait rig -- bell sinker and all -- and there was about three or four feet of line sticking out of its mouth! Lesson: make sure you use quality line and continually check it for nicks and abrasions!
City: CampbellTips: The ticks are BAD this spring.
-
Water Temp: 67
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Hit the water by 11:30. Started ripping a Rogue and boated 10 fish up to 2.5lbs by 1:30. Boy does that give your arms a work out. Lot of fun though. Caught all fish in the 5-10 ft range. Tried cranking and nothing, threw a witches T and got 2 hits. Rippin is the way to go, especially if your arms need a workout!!!!
City: San JoseTips: Ripping 5" rogues is the way to go!!!! Stick with it and you'll boat a few fish!!!

Water Temp: 60
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: First time out fishing this year. Used a 4" june bug worm w/chartreuse tail and (almost) landed a 1-1.5 around 4:45pm. It came off right when it got to shore. Switched to shad pattern 3" worm and caught a dinky (8 in.?) bass around 5:15pm. Decided to go to the back cove (Miners Cove?). I threw my june bug again, because the water was kind of murky and I knew the tail would help. After a couple of hops, I reeled in a 2 pounder around 6:30pm. Not bad for my first time out. Oh yeah, found a tick on me later that night, so pay attention to the previous report's tip. :(
City: SaratogaTips: Plastics worked well for me. My partner and other people were throwing blades, cranks, etc., but I didn't see anyone else catch anything that day. More natural colors seem to get more action too, but I really like the june bug pattern.

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Started fishing at 5:30 a.m. from the shoreline on the back side by the ranch. Caught two off the same rocky point. One was 1.5 lbs and another was 3.5 lbs. A friend caught a 4 pounder in a cove. All of these were before 8:00 a.m. with red or orange shades of worm in 5' to 10' of water. We left by 10:00 a.m.
City: San JoseTips: Seasonal tips for the shore angler would be tick repellant and hay fever medicine.

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Fished from shore as I currently don't have a boat :-( Was on the North end by 6:30 AM throwing a shallow bommer crank bait. Landed one of three fish. Was trying out a new rod, and was likely too stiff for cranks. All three fish were in water less than four feet when they hit. No strikes came from further off shore. The last fish, which got off was good sized, over five lbs I would guess. For Shame!!!! Someone out there had an empty back seat on their boat I could have filled! If only they had let me know, I would have gladly met them at the ramp.

Water Temp: 66-68
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Launched at 2pm. It was very windy. Fished everywhere but the south end of the lake. Skunked! Primarily threw crankbaits, blades, and jerkbaits (soft and hard). Had one hit all day on soft jerkbait letting it fall and twitching it on the way down in about 10ft. of water. The fish were suspended anywhere from 5ft. to 15 ft. deep in water 10ft. plus deep. Brutal day. Got cold and the wind never quit. At least it was some time on the water!

Water Temp: 63
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: launched Friday at 8am. Fished until 9:30am in the back cove. Through a couple diff. crankbaits, nothing. Had one fish on a c-rig finesse worm in about 5ft. of water in a cut. All females were staging on structure in about 12 feet of water. Worked on them for the few minutes I had left, but no luck. Hour-and-a-half is not enough time for me. Hope to get a few hours in on Sunday.

Water Temp: 65
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Hmmmm.....Well I figured the crank bite would still be on, guess what I couldn't get a fish cranking. Got on the water about 4pm cranked until 5pm, realized it wasn't going to happen. Started throwing a WitchesT magic worm in 12 feet of water and nailed 3 fish up to 2lbs. Was pretty depressed seeing how well I did cranking the other day. Left at 6:30. Had a buddy out on the lake I met up with, he hit 2 fish on blades and one on a rattle trap. Will hit anderson tomorrow, let you know how I did.
City: San JoseTips: One thing I have noticed the fish are staying in the 9-12ft range. Hope this helps. Mike

Water Temp: Spawn Temp.
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Started my usual pattern and caught a 5#'er right off in 18' of water on summermoss brushhog. Caught two more little bucks. Switched to cranks and never put them down except in the creak. Cranks working well. Wanted to catch just one toad so I started throwing Castaic stuff but know luck there. Went back to cranks and found some girls. Using a Norman Suspend 22 caught a 7(spawned out) and two 6's in five casts. That was fun.

Water Temp: 65
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Started out at 7:30, ripped and threw blades until 9 in the back cove with no luck. Switched to my favorite crank bait (WiggleWart Tenn Shad) caught 15 fish up until 2pm. Was amazed by the size, had 6 fish in the 3-5 lb range. The rest ranged from 1-1.5. I always have good luck cranking at Calero and Anderson. All the fish except 2 came from in between the small damn and the spill way. Fish were fat and should be moving in to spawn anytime. All fish were caught in 9 feet of water, parallel the banks and you will get them. Had a couple buddies out there who were having a tough time, told them about the crank bite and they started hooking into them!!!
City: San JoseTips: Crank shad pattern crank baits in the 9-12 ft range. Stick with it and it will pay off!!!!
