    Water Temp: 48

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Went striper fishing with 2 of my buddies. Launched out of B&W around 7:30am and was fogged in. Started working down river along the riprap. About 200 yrds we came across a depth change 7ft to 14ft and wham! School of 5-7 lbers wanting to eat. Caught most on rattle and speed traps and managed a 4lb steelhead. Caught a few more in Franks but the larger schools were on the rocks.
    City: Fairfield

Tips: presentation seemed to matter...we could only manage bits slow rolling the traps.

Report: Fished the hook tourney last sun & today. Last week we had a solid rip bite going with several fish in the 3 - 5 1/2lb range each day of practice. On game day we had our limit within 35 min and continued catching rip fish all day long everywhere we went, over 30 in all. Unfortunately the better fish just wouldn't cooperate for us. Finished w just under 12 lbs.

Today's game plan was rip for a limit and flip for a kicker. The plan was fool proof...almost, save for my bad luck. I lost a limit worth of fish within the first 20 min or so including one decent 2 1/2 that sure would have helped.. damn loose drag... Finally we started boating fish, much thanx to my partner, and we got a small bag together. Made a move and brought out the jig rods. Worked patiently for a few hours without a bite then we finally got our window (or should have been) with only 20 min left to fish. I got one close to 3, my partner gets a 4.. both mushy bites.. Then comes a solid deliberate thump, and off to deep water. I set hard and ohh yes, this was the big dog we needed... I still think I did everything right, but halfway to the boat my line went slack, she just came off.. Definatetly not my day....Finished in the top 10 w a little over 15lbs. Winners had 18 1/2

Hit a couple more points same thing. Switched over to you guessed it chrome-blue rattletrap 3/4 oz. 2 hook ups right away. 5 and 7 lbs. My buddy is just looking at me pissed off. The wind starts howling, and I mean cujo style. Managed a 6 blacks biggest 3lb 2oz. 5 bag went only 11 lbs. The white caps were huge. Thought I gone outa half moon bay. Called it a day at 12pm. Chilled to the bone, wind blown back home.

Tips: Rattle trap chrome-blue back 3/4 oz. for stripers. Had good luck with crawdad pattern shallow running cranks.

Report: This message is for the last post from Bill.
I am taking the wife out tommorrow striper fishing, I would like to hopefully help her catch some fish. If you could help what areas were productive for you? Incoming or outgoing tide? I appreciate any help I can get.
I have not had much success the last two times I took her out.

    Thanks,

Report: Went out at Wimpy's on Friday in the rain with big Capt Mike and Quency Malone looking for black bass and stripers. Crankin, Swim baits, Rattle Traps did not help. Found some small black bass with Senkos when the tide was coming back in. The sun came out and the fish went in. Three hours in the water and it was time for lunch at Wimpy's great cheeseburgers. Sunday might be a good day and try again.

    Water Temp: 58-60

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Fished on Sunday with Paul Addi from Las Vegas. We strted out in Big Break chasing Salmon and Stripers on traps. To our surprise, we got into a nice school of blacks. First fish Paul hangs an 8 lb 4oz largie with a belly sock full of something REAL hard, and still movin! What a pig! LOL We bounced around the river fishing mostly big rocky points, catching fish on jigs and plastics, and an occasional dropshot fish. We then finally found one small tull eisland loaded with shad. We began tossing the rattle traps and caught a bunch of 18" stripers, then on one erroneous cast into the shallow grass right on the point where I saw a swirle, a 7 lb. 14 oz. largie grabs my trap. We then started to slow roll spinnerbaits in 10 feet outside this islands edge and caught another 10 blacks to 3 pounds and countless 18-22" stripers.
    City: Oakley

Tips: The striper bite is wide open, move around and toss traps and pencil poppers. The largemouth bite can be spotty, expect periods of inactivity when the skies are blue. Bounce around the points of rocky ledges and tulle islands to find the better fish.

Report: Reading lot's of B.S. here. Went out expecting 8 pound LM and 40 pound Stripers out of Ladds. Fished my butt of using the entire bad of tackle. 1 bite and 0 fish. Saw a couple of little stripers caught but everyone I talked to was reporting the same as me. Kinda makes you wonder bout all these guys reporting 25 pound bags and such...uh huh.Maybe I just didn't fish correctly or didn't use the right bait. Whatever the case these reports seem kind of fishy to me. 8 pounders 40 pounders....sure. I got 6 of em!

Tips: Don't believe all that you read here. Just be real. See yall in the spring.

Report: Basin Bassmasters TOC. Winners used 4 inch swim baits for top weight. I found lots of small bass but the big ones avoided me. I did catch dinner in the morning. A couple of hungry strippers ate my super spook. Biggest crome walleye was 6 lbs. Boy did it taste good last nite. Deep fried with pancake batter.Love delta in the fall.
    City: orangevale

Tips: Still good time for rip baits, crank baits, worms.Tide seemed slow all day to me? I do much better when the currents is stronger. It triggers the bigger bites. We had no wind and no clouds to make my spook work on black bass today but normally they produce well.Hope the feds don't screw up Berryessa.Keep an eye open on what the feds are trying to do on berryessa guys it will scare the hell out of you. What next the delta?

Report: Well the T.O.C. was held out of Pardise Point for the Best top five fishermen from Basin Bass Masters on Saturday (boaters and non boaters). The tide was still coming in along with the fog. When the tide started out so did the fog and it seamed that the fish did too. The tide swing was slow with very slow moving water.Quency Malone and I teamed up for the last time this year for a day of dinks and more dinks. We moved all over the east side of the Delta looking for bigger bass and some moving waters. At the end of the day back at the marina the six teams came for the last time for 2005, ( a good year for all). Jim Malm and Bonner took first place with 10.64 and Jim got the big fish for 3.7 lbs. Lets all now go striper and salmon fishing. For those fishermen that charge there boats at home before leaving in the morning, be sure to disconnect the cord before hitting the road. Be safe on the water and good fishing

Report: I took a guide trip with Randy Pringle to catch some stripers. Boy! did he put me on some fish.
In our first area, we had 12 blow-ups and caught 6 fish. The best three went 65 pounds. One at 12#s, one at 15#s and my best ever 38#s. It was just unbelieveable. All fish were released alive. All fish were caught on top water plugs and the 15# was caught on a swimbait. Later in the day we spooned up some stripers in the 3 to 5 pound range. I took two of these home for dinner. If you want to experience some fantastic striper fishing, book a trip with Randy. The picture of the 38# pound should be up on his site soon.

Report: Fished on Sunday with an annual customer, Burton Lee and his three grand kids. The Lee's have taken a trip with me the past 3 Novembers in search of Stripers. Unlike the previous two years, the stripers were there for us on Sunday in a big way. Started in Big Break tossing 3/4oz traps in shad and bleeding shad. Young Kailyn hung a huge tuxedo on her first cast, it got the best of her after about a 10 minute battle. Two casts late she snaps up another fish, after a little coaching and 15 minutes, we boat a 10.5 pounder(Photo's page). We moved out into the middle of the break at 9:00am and found a school of much smaller fish. After 10 non-keeps we git 1 keeper and move on. I caught two in the 9 pound range in Ironhorse on a shad Stacee. Moved to the clear water of Taylor and managed four more shakers. Then proceeded to chase largemouth the rest of the afternoon and caught 22 on dropshots and four on the lizard. Biggest black went 4.5 pounds, with most between 11-13 inches. At 3:30p headed back to the Break for one more run at the stripers and had a double hook up of two fish close to 20 pounds. Too much confusion with the teens and both came unbuttoned. All in all, awesome fishing day with the Lee's! Take a teen fishing guys, it's the perfect receipe for a great day on the river right now!

Report: Fished the Hook tourney today. Started off in Franks rippin pointer minnows and put a quick limit of 13" clones together. Headed down south and threw traps along grass lines giving us three more keepers to cull with. At the bottom of low tide we began flipping senkos/jigs off the ends of docks and were able to cull out some more. My partner and I each stuck a 5lb fish pushing our weight up to about 20 1/2lbs....good enough for the runner-up spot. Winners had 22lbs
