Report: Took my son Niko to my Club Tourn. on Sat. Weather did not treat use very well. We caught fish, Niko tied on one of my homemade Jigs for the first time. He caught 2 on Black/Blue. I hit 4 on the S20. Sun. We fished The Hook. Went to the same area. Niko tied on the same jig and bamm 3# first fish, Bamm 4# second fish. We were on fish. We had 4 by 11:00 and then Pop at 11:30 the trolling motor cable broke. Made it hard to fish, but we hung in there. Ended the day with 5 fish just under 11 pounds. Just our luck... Hope we made the TOC...

Tips: Look for cleaner water. Try Jigs and 6-7" plastics. The bass are moving up and should just get better as the water warms.

Report: Wasn't muddy, maybe heavy stained? Anyway, launched out of Orwood and went to Disco. Threw a Staycee and found some grass on some rocks. Worked a jig for 45 mins, nothing. Threw a 4" Senko and got a solid 2 lb'r on the second cast. Fish hit it 10 feet from the bank in the grass. Pressure bite. Beleive it or not, I haven't thrown a Senko in over 3 years!! Went back to the Staycee and nothing. I saw a lot of activity in the cuts and were probably Stripers. Saw birds dive-bombing but I didn't bring any spoons to work the area.
    City: Manteca

Tips: Water is warming up and the fish are beginning the prowl. Get out before the next cold front comes in!! Senko was June Bug color. Staycee was Chart/Blue.

    Water Temp: ??no gauge??

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Same as the previous two reports.....not even a bite! Launched outta Tiki. Fished around Whiskey. Senkos, spinnerbait, jig, and dropshot. Not even a touch. One guy on a boat said that there had been a big sea lion cruisin' the cut we were fishing for 3 days prior. That didn't help the bite any. Only on the water for 4 hours. had a dead battery, lost a rod and reel in the drink, no fish, least the weather was real nice. I agree, January is real tough on the Delta.
    City: Ceres

    Water Temp: 47-48

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Lauched at 8 a.m. fished Old River. Graphed some stripers from the big bridge to Widows. The broken back was nonproductive in the 2 colors I used. A couple of guys I talked to were not catching fish either so I went for largemouth. 47 degree water. January. These fish eat 1 time every 3 weeks and they all must have eaten.I was able to check new water and practice casting. I saw a couple more bass boats zipping up and down the river, why I don't know. January never is a good month in the Delta for me. 0 fish for 100 hours over the years. I still had to report. It is so weird catching 0.0 in places that kick butt when it's warmer. The duck hunters are out in force. It was a nice sunny day .
    City: San Leandro

    Tips: Dynamite.
