Water Temp: 58-60
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Went out Saturdays 4/15 and 4/22; nothing to speak of...very slow. Anyone think it's the weather? Just bein' sarcastic. Everyone we asked "how are you doing?", said "A couple of little ones". Some said big goose egg. Saw many boats flipping close and many going finesse. Not sure how they were doing.
This last Sat looked promising as buddy immediately picked up a LiveTarget pumpkinseed shallow diving crank and got bit 2nd cast snappin it out of the grass at Mildred... then aboluly nothin' from then on til we ran up to White's and I picked up #2 on finesse wacky rigged 6" Watermelon / Chartr tail Zoom trick worm. Wind was really howlin' by then and we just decided to get outta there. Hoping someone else posts something more positive. Have to boat for a high schooler May 14 out of Russo's. Any tip will be appreciated!Tips: Currently not qualified to give a tip. Tried everything for the last two weeks, chatterbaits, spinnerbaits, traps, senko/stick baits, small jigs, dropshot. Senko/clones got some bites but nothing sizeable. I welcome any helpful tips! Thanx!

Water Temp: 53-55
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Mid February we experienced a climb in the water temps to 61 degrees here, fish were moving up and feeding in shallow flat areas. The past week the temps have pummeled back down to the low 50's and the bite has gotten very tough for most anglers. The fish are very inconstant in their feeding tendencies right now and we're struggling to catch a limit on most days. Water clarity is still very low, although in many areas it is clearing some to where we have stained conditions where ya can see 1-2 feet, as the winds have died down from last month, many areas are improving. The best thing right now is, it's winter on the Delta, at least when ya do catch some fish, they are in the 5-9 lbs range, with a few smaller 2 pounders showing up. You can catch em big in a small area right now and miss in others, as well as go back to that very same area and not git bit the very next day.
Tips: Covering a lot of water up in the shallow, dirty areas with a vibrating jig has produced well, darker colored baits with long skinny trailers have worked best. TNT's Dragonfly & Cicada Claymores have worked best for clients and I when we find active fish. Pitching and flippen a black/blue or Dragonfly Wadda in 1/2 oz has produce the best results for us since mid January. Covering a lot of water, dissecting rocky and tulley scatter banks have been best, hopping n popping the jig from behind and out in front of the sparse tulle clumps. We're having to move around a lot to catch em, this will be hindered by the resent closures of the Delta by the OES in San Jaquine County. Currently from the top of Lil Mandy from Old River thru Columbia Cut to the SJR and too the deep south is all under restrictions. There's not a lot of info out for anglers in regards to the closures, yet in my travels the past two weeks, I can see where it is warranted by all the levee erosion at the top of the rocks that have been laid in place the past two years on many of the levee islands here in Contra Costa and thru the restricted areas. There are a lot of bass boaters out running around in this middle part of the Delta, I haven't seen any Sheriffs out issuing warnings or tickets, but I'd recommend until otherwise notified, fish north and east of the SJR and areas around and west of Frank's Tract and avoid the Middle and Southern parts of the Delta..

Report: From Cooch's Fishing
The Almond blossoms are here, indicating a big wave to the shallow, muddy waters by the Delta bass is about to take place. A few anglers have reported this week of a few big catches. Yesterday's clients and I found a few smaller fish willing ta feed shallow on jigs later in the day as temps climbed to 54-56, even found one area popping 60 degrees! WHOA! I hate it when the River blows by 55 degrees in less than a week! Water is still very dirty in many areas off the SactoR and SJR. The further away from the two main Rivers you'll begin to find cleaner water if that's yer preference. We caught fish in both dirty and stained water patterns yesterday, yet the key for us seemed to be rock patterns. These river rocks will heat up areas faster forcing the craws out of the mud and the bass will follow in looking for them. All our fish had rooting craw red jaw lines! Delta still a lil tough fishing in most areas, but good fishing can be had by moving around and locating areas where the fish are moving up shallow to feed.

Report: Big Break Marina shown after this week's storm
Delta Fishing Report…. Bait fishing Stripers Sturgeon ok
Very little pressure from anglers on the river again this week,. Decent tides combined sunny days ahead to be setting as the winter bite continues.. Still there is some really cool water and tough bites for black bass but should warm a bit quicker with the dirty water.
Hook Line and Sinker Tournament this weekend out of Russo’s Marina will be a grind.
Isleton Fishing Report
Very Few Sturgeon anglers are heading to 41, Liberty and Cache Slough areas with roe and eel reporting. Cold dirty water has slowed the stripers in the Cache Slough area. Spoons and hair Jigs have become favorite tools of lure tossers in the area. Many guides are drifting minnows in the area.
Rio Vista Fishing Report
Still the best place to score a striped bass or sturgeon seems to be below Decker Island in the area of the Power Lines at Light 14 and the Red Barn, where boaters anchor and use threadfin shad or sardine filets. Small stripes and occasionally, a 10-pounder is caught. Eel continues to lead the way for sturgeon anglers in front of Collinsville. Rio Vista Pier also is scoring both species.
Walnut Grove Fishing Report
Area is under a lot of pressure from the High water. Anglers avoid the area as much emergency equipment is working the area West of Walnut Grove.
Discovery Bay Fishing Report
Black bass bite is hopeful as water temps stabiliz. Most Blackie anglers are sticking with rip baits and slow rolling blades searching ledges near flats. Others looking to beat the Dirty conditions are pitching jigs in the gaps. Occasionally a nice sized stripes are grabbing Bad Bubba Shad . There seems to be a run on Crappie Jigs. This would indicate a crappie bite but no ones talking.
Frank’s Tract Fishing Report
Black bass bite OK but Slow down with Debris moving through more consistently. It’s no secret what a little High can do. Jigs are great options while Bobby D’s spinnerbaits.

Report: From Cooch's Fishing
December 8 at 12:38pm ·
The December bite here on The Delta is very tough for most anglers as winter patterns are kicking in. This past week I took out a father son duo, who are avid trout fishermen. They have been experimenting with black bass fishing here on the Delta and wanted a trip with me to clue them in on how ta catch fish on this river with more consistency. Certainly not the optimal time to take out a couple of rookie bass fisherman, yet we tied on a ripbait and TNT jigs and went after em. Our rip fish were all smaller, non keeper fish, yet was a tactic these two had not been exposed to very much. We had to scratch and grind thru the day for 12 solid jig fish in the 2-3lbs range. The Booby Trap and new Gunpowder versions where the ticket for the day and have now converted these two into jig fisherman. Awesome winter day fishing with Dave and his son Alex!

Report: Delta Report…Stripers Sturgeon Solid Bass action settling in.
ABA Kicks off Out Of Russo’s Marina Saturday morning promises to be a good tight Tournament as Fall winter conditions settle in.
Isleton Looks good as anglers take advantage of cooler water temperatures with Stripers and Smallmouth leading the way. Water temperatures have dropped with the cooler storms. The salmon bite remains good as season winds down. Salmon anglers are still seeing success around Ryde Hotel.
Walnut Grove . Fair for the trolling anglers, but fish cracking the 15 pound plus keeps anglers hopes up. Savage Prey series and Angry Eyes are the top choices here as well, there seems to bit more call for chartreuse patterns here. Bank anglers livers and cut baits prevail for plenty 2 to 4 pound catfish evenings are top for those looking for a few bites. Bass anglers try some smallie fishing, crankbaits and brown blue jigs and getting the Smallmouth.
Discovery Bay Some nice fish coming out of Discovery Bay this week. Bigger fish have been falling for a 8" Savage Gear 3D SHINE GLIDE. Dropshot will put more fish in the boat but the size is just not there. A-rigs and Rip Baits starting to work well now. Dress warm and enjoy the your time in Discovery Bay. Some Nice fish are coming Cranking Square bills like the DDO custom KP used to land several like the one pictured this week.
Frank’s Tract Stripers and bass bite both OK but ya gotta Slow down with the cold temperatures. It’s no secret what a little fall weather can do. Ripbaits are great options while small swim baits and swim jigs get the mention. We found plenty of Stripers and Black Bass with A-rigs, Swim Baits, like the Bone Colored Shine Glides getting grabbed. Lot of Stripers in main River and Mildred areas.
West Delta The West as in Honker Bay to the Bait tossers are getting fish when wind cooperates. Sturgeon quietly is slipping into the spotlight. Eel is the best bait over all, but night crawlers, roe and shad also scoring diamondbacks Broad slough and surrounding cuts. There were many shaker sturgeon reports in double power lines in Decker Island and Sherman Island. There were few shaker sturgeons also reports from Light 42 to Light 49 in the deep channel Most of the nice stripers coming soaking Shad, anchovies and sardines .
Las Vaqueros Fishing for trout continues to be good even with the increased water temperature. They are being caught in South Cove and Oak Point as well as Peninsula Cove. The baits of choice for shore anglers are garlic-scented PowerBaits, nightcrawlers or Kastmaster lures. Trout average a pound and a half but range to over 5 lbs. There was a 1000 pound Lassen plant on November 28th. Light tackle is important for catching trout with 4-6 pound test being plenty. Trout fishing is good especially in the morning, with limits being caught from around the reservoir and more fish being caught overall. Several large trout were brought into the Marina this week. These included an 8 pound fish caught on a Kastmaster in South Cove, a 7.1 pounder caught in Cowboy Cove on powerbait and a 7.2 pound trout caught on a nightcrawler in South Cove. More limits are starting to show up from South Cove and from boats around the lake.
Contra Loma 500 Pounds of trout planted this week have anglers smiling. While there are very few anglers taking advantage of the put and take trout fishery here that action is solid. Kastmasters and floating baits are the keys. Marshmallows and crawlers are working for Loma regulars.
