Report: I was an observer on Rick Clunn's Boat yesterday at the BASS VT Top 150. It was exciting watching this legendary 4 times Bass Masters Classic Champion fish. It was a very nice day to fish. He caught a lot of fish and brought in 22.2lb of largemouth for weigh-in yesterday. If your are interested to see some of his photos of him fishing I will post it at http://www.fishphotos.com. There is a NCBF member that fished at FOXwoods at Ticonderoga. I don't know his name but you can see him on stage with his NCBF hat. Peace & Tightlines. Bob Koo

Report: American Bass Anglers Club- 7 boats launched from Laurentzens yaht Harbor, I ran up Dutch to fish rocky points and stuck 1 fish, proceeded to water I fished the week before at the south end of franks, east of Holland cut entrance, where my non boater caught 1 on his first cast,we were fishing wood near moving water, I then went to a cove area where I caught a three plus and two other keepers on a tube bait, mellon pepper with brass and glass, it was working and the only tube I had, after catching three fish on it it was done. Hampton kennon placed first with 14+lbs., I was second with 8+lbs third place was 3+lbs a tough day, the wind Blew! as usual....
    City: Martinez

Tips: Fish rock points (the slack water side) in the current I went to a little heavier weight, crank baits in red(rattletrap) seem to produce the bigger fish, Fish seem to be moving into fall patterns.... Good Luck Procraft Pete.. :-)

    Water Temp: 67-71

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished on Saturday out of the Hook with Stan Jones. When we arrived the wind was howling, bluebird skies. I told him we might have a tough day but were gonna go give it our best. It was quite a while before we got our first fish, Stan thunked a nice 4+ on a Bump. Then about 15 minutes later he got another one, maybe a little bigger. We then bounced around the Delta looking at different spots and conditions keying on points. The fish were real tight in the cover. Cooch finally got a good keeper on the jig, 8+, she was purty and put a good fight coming out of about 12'. We then got a couple of nice ones on woiyms, S20 & PBJ. Then around 2:30 we started frogging, first point I pull up to, heave that frog way back there on the mat, start chuggin along and here come the roller behind it. It made a little "whap" and missed. I reeled and heaved it back in there, KERWOOOOOSH! tunk, tunk, I think she's got it, couldn't see the frog, it was a big fish, I set and the frog come rippin out and bout smacked me upside the head. Oh well, same ole story for Cooch and his frog, I can find em, just can't catch em. On the way back to the Hook, we stopped on yet another point, cranked a couple and headed home. We boated 9 fish, with the best five around 22-23 pounds.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished out of Lundborg Landing last night for about 2 hours. Flipped a little with no luck, one bite that I missed. Tried some frogs and buzz baits as the sun began to set. Had Several missed swirls at both, then just as the sun set I caught a 3+ and a 4+ on the frog. One came off an isolated clump of tules and the other slammed the frog when I hopped it off a mat. Frog bite seems to be coming back on with the warmer weather.
    City: Brentwood

Tips: Give the frog a try as the weather (Hopefully) continues to warm.

Report: Good topwater bite this morning. Fish were up on weedy flats with tules at high tide in 3-4 feet of water. 4 keepers for 11#s and had a HOG take a swipe at a white frog in open water but it didn't take the bait. After topwater bite shut down was only able to locate dinks.
    City: Brentwood

Tips: White buzz bait worked close to tules and weeds worked for me. 3 on the buzz bait and one on a frog.

    Water Temp: ???

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Go North young men, Go North..We left Ladds Mariana at safe light with a light breeze, a layer of fog laying over a high tide. The air temp. was high 50's and a afternoon high in the low 90's, just perfect... Having won two previous small club tournaments in the Calavarous river arm we headed South from Ladds. We pitched pig and jigs & worms and through spinners, cranks and top water till we were blue in the face, and came up with 2 keepers, for 2.6 lb., and 5 dinks off worms. At weigh-in we found that the first, second, third and fourth place teams had fished the main channel North of Ladds and killed them most of the day. The first place team was 2 ounces shy of 16 pounds for a five fish limit with a big fish of 5.8 lb. They were throwing a 6" red and black fancy tail Culprit worms into the rock banks. The 2nd place team picked up a couple on top early, several on crawdad color cranks and the rest on plastic crawdad (orange) worms for 12.7 lb. It went on for the third and fourth place teams as well. Crawdad color plastics, spinners and cranks in the main channel during high tide.
    City: Turlock

Tips: Crawdad color plastics in the main channel at high tide.

Report: Got started late out of Holland Riverside and hit the bottom of the outgoing tide. Pulled a few dinks off of the rocks around Cruser Haven and flipped a couple more out of the tulies in the better water in the same area. Nothing happened on the frog at all.
    City: Concord

Tips: Red cranks and brown with red flake plastics gave us the limited success.

Finally started froggin - the bite seems to be coming back. Got two nice 2.5s and lots of heart attack inducing blowups. Also caught 4 real frogs - they seem more aggressive this year..

    Water Temp: ?????

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Woke up late and headed to the break once more with my dad. Got on the water at about 7:00. Drove to a narrow slough that was packed with wood and fliiped jigs with no luck. Started throwing a crankbait while my dad was using a 4" worm that produced one fish about 2Lbs. We then drove to the south end of franks and found some cleaner water started throwing blades around reefs and tules. After that prodeced nothing I thought it would be a good idea to crank the riprap. Threw the speedtrap for about 1 and a half hours and caught 4 fish and a 20" striper. Overall an ok day, could have been worse.

    Water Temp: 70-72

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Launched out of Holland Sat. morning about 6:30 AM. Fished until 7:00 PM. My partner and I pounded tules for a long time without any success. Finally started fishing the outside edge of weedlines in 15 - 18' of water and the two of us picked up a total 9 fish along one stretch of shoreline. Most 12-14" one went 3#s. Between 5:30 and 6:00 as the tide appeared to be just going out again, my partner lost a nice fish in the weeds and then landed a nice 4# fish, about 5 minutes after that I landed a 4.5#er. The two larger fish came between a break in the weed line and a clump of tules in about 5' of water. All but one of the fish were caught on a watermelon brush hog,T-rigged. One fish caught on a 6" green weenie spade tail.
    City: Newark

Tips: Don't forget to try deeper water.

Report: Went out of the break with my dad and one of my friends from school. Started at 6:00 had no luck flippin at south end of the break. Drove down the way and started throwin white/white blades. Caught 2 fish within next half hour on thick weed lines. Both fish went about 2lbs. Drove back up to the break and flipped for a while had no bites so we went back to throwin white spinners in the tules. Dad landed 3 fish within the next hour that were all over 3 biggest went 5.6lbs. Went in around 2:00.

    Water Temp: ?

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Fished the Turkey shoot out of the hook, Started to run west but when I saw the winds I had to deal with I turned and ran east up into dutch slough, stopped just before the first bridge and caught a dink on a jig, while unhooking it, it puked up a good size piece of shad, and it was only the mid section so I figure these fih have alot of food, could be the reason for the tough bite recently my non boater hooked one but it was a dink and shook off I decided to fish the meat wall outside the break, I had a bite but was moving to fast with the wind so I turned the boat around and pitched my jig back in and felt the heavy jig bite, it was a keeper worked our way towards the launch and I pitched my jig right next to the pole ajacent to the ramp dock and it felt heavy I kinda set the hook upon reeling up I had a ton of grass and buried in it was A FISH, talk about luck, Fishing was slow but I had a great time. Jig was a DUH (brown) with a blue zoom plastic pork, I did catch a dink on a shad pattern crank bait that matched the puked shad.
    City: Martinez

Tips: The bass seem to be petty well fed on natural stuff, the ones I caught were real tight to structure, after casting or pitching to your selected spot let it stay there awhile and wait em out Good Luck Procraft Pete

Report: Man what a day.Without a doubt, the best Delta day ever. Launched out of Dels, had a little one-on-one competition going with my son Deli.(Differant boats) I won't say exactly where we were as I'm prefishing for an up coming tourney. However we did stay south.Caught a few small fish on white buzzbaits early, missed one real good one. Began flipping heavy cover, and fishing weed lines once the tide started going out.Was using the "micster" worm again.(I don't know what it is about this worm, Iv'e been fishing it for 10 years, but I have a renued confidence in it now)I flipped a 4 1/2 and a 4, then a whopper,8 lbs. 12 oz in five feet of water, in wood. That fish was the most fun I've ever had, and i have two over ten to my credit. My previous big Delta fish was 6+. My best limit ever was 15+. We figure I had 22 lbs for five fish yesterday. The big fish hit at around noon.We got off the water a 1pm. I'm glad I was using my flipping stick and 20lb test Big Game line. She was all I ever wanted in a fight.

    Water Temp: 72-76

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: STARTED FISHING AT ABOUT 7:30, ME AND MY PARTNER FOUND A SCHOOL OF BASS ON A ROCK POINT ON THE MAIN CHANNEL. WE WERE GETTING DOUBLE HOOK UPS ON 2 TO 3 LBS. WE CAUGHT ABOUT TEN FISH IN 15 MIN. THEN I GOT ONE OF MY HOOKS ON MY CRANK BAIT STUCK IN MY FINGER. NOW I WASN'T ABOUT TO LEAVE TO HAVE THE HOOK CUT OUT, SO I GRAB THE PLIERS AND YANKED THE HOOK OUT. I THINK MY PARTNER THOUGHT I WAS NUTS! SO BACK TO FISHING WE WENT. WE THAN WENT TO A SPOT IN IN MIDDLE RIVER AND FISH PUMPS WITH RUNNING WATER. BOY DID WE HIT THE JACK POT WE MUST OF CAUGHT 20 FISH ON THIS SINGLE PUMP PITCHING JIGS. FISH RANGE 2 TO 4 LBS. THAN WE DECIDED TO TRY SOME FROG FISHING. I FOUND A NICE LOOKING MAT THAT HAD WATER RUNNING THROUGH IT. ON MY FORTH CAST I STUCK A PIG ON A WHITE MANN'S FROG THAT I MODIFIED. I WAS STOKE, IT WAS MY FIRST FROG FISH THIS YEAR. THE FISH WEIGHED 8.93 ON MY STERN CULL EM SCALE. THAT WAS THE ONLY FROG FISH WE GOT. FROG BITE JUST DON'T SEEM TO BE AS GOOD AS LAST YEAR. AT ABOUT 11:30 HEADED BACK TO LADD'S CAUGHT THREE MORE FISH AT THE MOUTH OF LADD'S ON CRANKS. IT WAS A GREAT BIT EARLY THAN AROUND 11:00 THE BITE SEEMS TO FAD.
    City: STOCKTON

Tips: FOR THOSES WHO DONT KNOW THE DELTA TRY PUMP WITH RUNNING WATER, THIS TIME OF YEAR THEY SEEM TO ALWAYS HOLD FISH. THE RUNNING WATER DRAWS BIG SCHOOLS OF BAIT FISH. USE ANY THING THAT LOOKS LIKE A CRAWDAD, ALSO TRY THE BRIGHTEST RATTLE TRAP YOU CAN FIND. GOOD LUCK!!!!!
