Report: ishing was tough with bites ew and ar between. the ish that we caught were all healthy, though. caught 6 ish between me and my partner. most o the ish wanted slow dragged plastics and the bite was very subtle -- so subtle that we probably had some bites and didn't even realize it. set the hook on that "rubbery" line, you may be surprised. jigs and split-shotting seem to be the ticket right now. (although six ish really isn't much to brag about). small inormal tourney on the 16th, I'll let you know how it goes....

Report: Plants Spur actionThe irst Trout plant o the all has arrived! A quadruple load o 4,800 pounds was split between the South Pond, South launch ramp and North launch ramp. As always, 90% o the ish are at least one pound each and 10% o the load weigh 3 pounds each or better.Based on a small sample, the best action or trollers has been an East -West line rom the North camper's cove entrance down to the dam. Nightcrawlers ished on a Wedding ring or white or chartreuse R-Lures and Needleish have been the best bets. Trout catching is still good or overnighters at the dam. Use Powerbait or nightcrawlers rom 25 to 35 eet or easy limits o 1 to 3 pound Rainbows. The Stable conditions have sparked the bass action too. The ish are stacked near drop-os in 20 eet o water near rock piles and points. Most o the ish are keepers but a ew up to 7 pounds have been reported. Use smoke or green worms near the stick-ups,just about any time o day. Best areas or Bass include Rabbit Creek and islands near the river channel and Lancha Plana rock piles.Northshore resident "Rick" Richter landed a 6.84-pound Largemouthrecently on a smoke worm on the North side o Lancha Plana. Lake Camanche's current elevation is 202.28 eet above sea level, a tiny drop o .04 eet since last Sunday. The lake is expected the lake to hold steady. The surace temperature at the North shore uel dock is 68 degrees in the early mornings while thesurace reading at the dam is 70 degrees. The thermocline is much more gradual now with the top 33 eet o water ranging rom 70 to 68 degrees. There are still plenty o services avialble with the low conditions. The low water #1 ramp is in service at Southshore and 3 lanes o the main ramp at Northshore are in service. M.T.B.E.-ree uel is available on water at the Northshore uel dock Friday through Monday and at the Southshore store land-based pumps on the same days.

Report: Fished Camanche rom 2:30 p.m. to midnight. Slow bass bite, a ew odd blue gill, and a suprisingly aggressive and large cat ish. Used plastic worms, popper, and assorted crank baits trying to ind what they wanted. Caught about 5 small bass total, all on plastic worms. Not much ishing traic, which maybe should have been a sign. Heard about a good crappie bite, but never got set up or it. It was a beautiul day, though very windy until sun went down. Don't know i this aected things at all. Saw lots o ish, just couldn't igure out what they wanted. Action was way down rom what I saw two to six weeks ago.

Report: Fished the Newbass Northern Team event out o the North Shore and had a great day. Started out in the river above the bridge with topwater and had a 3.23 and 2.0 in the well beore 7 AM. Cranked another a little later then moved to an area just above the 20 mph buoys and cranked two more. Found some dredger tailings orming a little bowl-like area and with a white on gold spinnerbait caught about 15 ish in the next hour or so. Culled a 16.41 limit to place 4th overall.
    City: Roseville

Tips: Reaction was our trick o the day, but others were carolina riggin' lizards and 6" worms to get their ish.

    Water Temp: 59

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished the river arm with sekos. Good early morning and evening bite. All came on the edges o steep drops. Largest was Walter the trout's large mouth cousin that weighed 10lbs. What a toad - my biggest ever. She swallowed the senko so I had to perorm minor surgery with a pair o dykes to cut the hook in hal and a hemostat to remove the barb. A ist in the mouth was no problem with this monster. She was returned unharmed. Caught another just under 5lbs, a 3.0 and the rest 1.5 0 2.5. Good action on a 5" pumpkin senko, dead sticking ater the cast. Real clear water.
    City: Foster City

Tips: Only used Senkos and only one color. Be patient and don't overly work the lure. Let it sink but keep some amount o tension on the line to eel the bite. Most swallowed the hook. Dykes needed to cut the hook without damaging the ish. Nose hook the bait will keep the hook out o the ishes stomach. Make long casts because the water is clear.

Report: Listen to the ishing gods....clear day w/light breeze, occ. cloud here and there, Ater sorting thru the mound o propaganda thrown at us at the entrance, i ound the daily report that suggested 4" plastic worms in grn or brn, 4-10t in the early part o day 12-18 mid-day, got on the water at 10:45, 1st hook up by 11 in 6-8t, o primary, rocky points with submerged grass beds, with a 4" green "westerner" paddle tail, they seemed to hit about the time ya ticked the grass tops, trolled a holding pattern over the spot and ended up with 5-6 hook-ups, moved o the point to secondary's w/no grass and nada, 1st ish i caught was ull o eggs and her eyes were orange! any day now it will be on like donkey-kong!!
    City: Sacto

Tips: There's no ish here go home..........just joshin!! stick to plastics 4-6" in green brown or purple and you will have success........LOOK FOR SUBMERGED VEGETATION....every other ish seemed to be adequate so clear out the iesty little males and sweety pie will be right there as well! enjoy, i'm going tomorrow 3/23, remeber, catch and release, thats somebody's momma you just caught!

    Water Temp: 60

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Fished Basin Bassmasters Club Tourney. Was a beutiul day with a light breeze. I was surprised that we couldn't get bit on reaction baits, but did have a very good day with plastics. The ishing really seemed to pick up when the wind blew. Most o our ish were caught in 10-15 t. o water and hal o the time the ish would hit it on the all. All types o plastics were working. Backs o coves and island tops were best. Caught a dozen ish or so. Won tourney with 12 1/2 pounds. Big ish was 3.3#'s.
    City: roseville

Tips: Keep your line wet. The ish aren't hitting everything thrown at them, but they are there and are very hungry.

Report: Fishing could have been better. Had to WORK or all ish caught. 10.48 total weight or 5 ish in a club outing. Biggest ish was 3.40 or big ish or the club. All o the bites came 10 to 20 t. mixed spots and LM. I used a 809 4 inch Preditor on a split-shot rig. Bite was sot with ish hitting on the all.

Tips: light line, "lat" structure close to deep water.

    Water Temp: 56

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Went pre-ishing or a club tourney with my buddy Ryen. We managed to get 10 bass and 1 nice salmon. I wasn't really expecting much, but didn't really care as I was still going o the high rom the Delta rom the day beore. Was a beautiul day to ish and our biggest bass was 6#'s. All o our ish were caught in 25-30 t o water on grubs and 4 in worms. The 6#er was the biggest ish I have seen caught on a drop shot rig. There was also a ederation tourney being held that day and it looks like it took around 15 pounds to win it. Wish we would o been in the tourney, because my buddies 5 ish limit went around 16#'s. I think the lake, as well as everywhere else is getting ready to bust wide open, as all o the ish were big and at. With the weather that is being called or this week it will make it very hard to show up or work!
    City: Roseville

Tips: Weather is just starting to get nice. We knew we would really have to work or the ish with the incosistent weather and ull moon working against, but knew the bite would be there somehow. I ished a small club tourny 4 years ago at this time and we caught a nice top water limit in 61 degree water. This year ish are down 30 eet and the water is 56 degrees. I guess the ish are always there, it's just a matter o inding the right pattern.
