Report: Lake very warm, and very very clear. All the action was on top water. whatever it was if it made noise the bass would hit it. Largest was 6lb smallest 2lbs with several 3-4lbs in between. they hit the plug next to any type of stick-up you could throw at. The lake is so very very low. EBMUD sez its 38% full. I say its 78 percent empty and falling.

Report: Holiday boat traffic impacted fishing in a major way. The best bite was early morning from 6-8AM. Caught 22 bass. 12 were top water and 7 on drop shot. Caught 2 pigs way over 5 lbs each, 23" long. One exploded on my Pop R and the other on a Sara Spook in the river area off steep walls. The drop shot were taken in 4-20ft off rocky points using a 4" cut tail worm.
    City: Foster City

Tips: Top water early and late. Drop shot in the middle of the day. Take a nap during the hot part of the day. Good luck.

Report: Fished Nor-Cal Bass tourney out of South Shore, started out throwing a white/chartrues blade on the points with stick ups and with no results. Saw fish busting bait fish in the adjacent cove so i started throwing MS-Slammer/Rainbow and got chrushed by a nice three pounder. Kept throwing it for the next hour and nothing else.
I tried cranking, ripping and blades but could not get a reaction bite going.
So i switched to a Senko, Grn/Punpking Blk/Flake and stared picking them up on a pretty consistant basis, but i had to hit areas with wood/stick-ups to get bit.
Lost two nice fish that would have put me in the 13-14 lb range; but ended up with best five going 11.35.
    City: Himar

Tips: Start by giving top water a try; Spook, Popper, Slammer. Then go to Senko and Jigs; browns seem to be the thing. Fish the wood starting at the deepest stick ups first and fish your way in to the shallow stuff, be looking for bedding fish also, they are starting to move into the coves.

Report: Beautiful full moon all nite. Freezing temp, but no rain or wind. Mike's multi species ranger is great with the big windshield. Why don't more guys own them? Spent a lot of time looking for bait balls. Where have all the birds gone? Usually you find the birds you find the bait right? The lake is VERY LOW right now. Kinda neat looking up at all your old hot spots to see why fish held there. Tried spoonin no luck. Tried jigs no luck. Carolina and drop shot were best. We had a small 7 lb limit. Afternoon was better when my watch showed 4 hooves.
    City: orangevale

Tips: Find the bait you'll find the fish. Launch ramp is only the center. 2 outside ramps are out of the water. Look out for sudden depth changes. Lots of rock piles popping up out of nowhere. Islands everywhere. The prop guys are making a lot of money this year don't help them. MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL YOU BASS NUTS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR.

Report: Sonora Bass Anglers held their November Tournament here today. 16 teams launched out of North Shore. Only 2 teams brought in limits. Tough day for most but not for all. The winners, Mike & Larry Freeman had 12.36 lbs for 5 fish. All were caught on the main lake cranking, top water, and plastics. The top 7 teams all fished the main lake. Big fish of the tournament was caught by Chris Richardson on a shad crankbait. Top water in the morning over grass beds, jigs & dropshotting the breaks caught most of the fish. All the bigger fish came on reaction early in the morning. Good Luck

Tips: The fish were all relating to shad. Find the shad and you find the fish. Throw a Sammy over grass beds at first light. As the sun gets higher, fish the breaks and islands tops on the main lake. DO NOT FISH UPRIVER!!! Only small fish. Fish are not in the wood, don't waste your time. Remember SHAD presentaion!!!!

    Water Temp: 67 degrees

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: My first trip to Camanche in about a year. Wow, could not believe how low the lake was...standing timber everywhere. Tough bite overall. A few short fish. Four keepers for about 8lbs. Three on jigs, one on a crank. All fish caught by 10am, dead after that. Did graph some fish as well as baitfish. Drop shot down into them and nothing. Tried dropping into several areas like this and nothing. I agree with most reports for all the lakes, water temp has to come down to 60 for the fall bite to turn in. Couple other guys on the lake had about the same results.
    City: Sacramento

Tips: Keep at it and be patient till that fall bite turns on.

    City: Elk Grove

Tips: for main lake fisherman still gettin reports on early topwater fish and fishin wit everything to crank baits, jerk baits, drop shot and many other baits. For those trout fisherman trolling both of the hat islands are producing fish the next plant of 1200 pounds will be at north shore.

Report: Fished early and late Fri, Sat, Sun. Caught 18-20 bass each day. Most fish caught on top water
Pop-R. Also caught fish on drop shot, crank jerkbait, senko, and TX rigged worm. Biggest fish was a 26" 8lb monster that nailed my jerkbait after a bad cast. Caught all fish in the river area along rocky shore with steep drops.
    City: Foster City

Tips: Top water early and late. Jerk and crank on wind blown flats and points.

    Water Temp: 71-73

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Fished from 7am-2pm, Threw worms galore(wacky, weightless, texas), lizards, jigs. Got nada. ~1pm, got 3 dinks on some weird green tube bait with 6 legs on it from the bottom of my tackle box. On Sun, fished from 7am-10am. Got a dink on chrome/blue deep diving crank and a 8 pound cat on a zipper worm.
    City: San Jose

Tips: Not sure if the full moon affected the bite, but I was expecting better results since they planted 1400 lbs of florida strain LM last Nov. This lake has too many water skier/wakeboarders in it. They even go into the 20mph/fishing zone. I wish Ranger Rick would sit back in a cove and pick them off one by one. It'll buy them a ton of donuts for sure.

Careful navigating this lake. Saw a pleasure boater hit an unmarked shallow at high speed. It was funny.

$80 to camp and fish from a boat for the weekend. And I thought Amador was expensive. Guess we gotta pay for that off-ramp at the Maze.

Report: Out on Tuesday 24th 6am till 1pm lots of bed fish had a small limit in a few hours and then... there she was, a big girl, up shallow. Hooked her on the first presentation. Only problem, it was on the drop/shot rod. She was off quick. Re-grouped and gave her a jig. From about 15' away she charged and ate it. It was the longest 15 minutes of my life. She weighed 9lbs1oz on my scale so I took her to the North shore and weighed her in,(9lb even) did the picture thing, and took her back to her spot. Thursday out at 12:45 till 4:00 Hooked 8 landed 6 big fish 3.5 best 5, 13.06.
    City: Ione

Tips: The fish are up. I saw beds from 2' to 12' deep. Look for shallow humps with cobble and little scrub brush. The beds are in the brush. Try brown jigs, Swim them and shake them change it up. I caught fish on the jig a shakey head worm (brown) and senkos. Get a good map and go find a flat and work every spot with brush. Good luck.
