Report: Went to CFW and just ished o the shore or 1 1/2 hours or so. I igured it would be nice to get o the boat or a change and get some excercise. My irst cast produced a monster 1 1/2 pound crappie on a lizard. I continued to ish the lizard and hit 6 spots to 1 1/2 pounds. As the sun went behind the hills I switched to rippin' and got 5 more to 2 pounds. Not a bad 1 1/2 hours o ishing. I am looking orward to putting the boat on the water out there and really tearing it up.

Tried spinnerbaits, brush hogs, and larger worms with no success. Many o our ish were caught in 10-15 eet o water. None o them were near the bank. I don't think this lake has really turned on but when it does look out! I've gone through several packs o worms ishing this lake and even had a day were we caught 100+ ish.

    Water Temp: 52

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: This has turned out to be an annual thing since we live 15 minutes rom the lake, however only ish or 5 hours waiting or the turkey to inish. Headed or the Bear River arm and ished the deeper walls with jigs and worms and did quite well or the time there with a bunch o dinks, 3 or 4 in the 1 1/2 lb range, one 2 pounder and one real nice 4+ black bass. Camp Far has always been a better than average lake or nice ish and today was no exception. Launching was airly easy but not or a single person since you will have to all but beach the boat and those without a keel guard have to be especially careul. Water is still pretty clear and without all the power boats that you have in the summer, give this dandy little lake a try.
    City: Wheatland

Tips: Jigs, brown/orange with single tail Yamamoto grub worked o the deeper walls and especially near ANY brush or stick-up. Fish came in water anywhere 10-15 eet, working the jig very slowly and you knew when they picked it up. Have un and see you on the water.

    Water Temp: cold 55?

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Caught 7 to 2 lbs between two o us. All caught trolling in shallow grassy cove by rock creek. The ish hit on small rebels, rogs in smoke color, and silver spoons. This lake has produced or us very well in the spring pretty much everywhere on anything or years, however nothing over 2 lbs. (Occasional stripers-please release these as they are ew and ar between). I have seen everyone use everything, but no big ish. They have to be here with this many small spots running around. Suggestions?p.s. This is a great lake to take kids to or small spots and/or panish.
    City: sacto

Tips: Try trolling with small, active baits- especially sonic rooster tails in white or black. Stick to the shallows.

    Water Temp: 71 deg.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: hunnert ish days are possible with 3 guys in the boat. The ish are on their all eed. Not alot o giants but alot o 13 to 17 inches, the spots are getting bigger with most o the stripers gone. All rocks are holding ish, to get numbers use darthead and our inch worms in green, brown, salt and pepper. To get larger ish use spinnerbait, white and chart., brown 3/8 oz. jig with grub trailer. Flukes are working on mostly smaller ish by the dam. Good ishing or spots but the ramp sucks, no dock and shallow ramp. Watch or shallow rocks, hard on the prop.

Report: Fished the bank in water between 6 and 10 eet with various color plastic worms. Best colors seemed to be purple shad, and a Culprit Tiger Tale ( Green with orange Tail). Hooked 4 but it seems like they're in an agressive mode where they'reattacking a worm but not trying to eat it. I kept getting the back section o my plastic worm bitten o. Switched to a 4"worm and did better

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Started out the a little late, got out there about 10am. First went to the side o the lake where all the camping is at and not a ish to be ound. My wie and I change the type o lure rom a spinner to a Pumpkin seed color shad. We then moved to the river part o the lake, ished the trees and caught 15 small mouth bass. We used the lure in a pretty ast motion. The bass where sitting in about 6 eet o water at the time. it was the irst time to the lake and we had a wonderul time. Water was very calm, and warm, not too many people out there. It was a week day though.
    City: Roseville

Tips: Fish the river part o the lake. Use a Pumkin Seed color shad, and reel it in using a med. to ast speed. Look or the trees in about 6 to 10 eet o water.

Report: Got to the lake late. Started ishing at about 10:15. South breeze blowing and my partner was using ly ishing gear so we headed to the Bear River arm to get some relie rom the wind. Caught 3 "dinks" split shottin' 4" worms. Broke o 5 or 6 (going back to regular Stren rom now on). Fish seemed to be o the irst break line along rocky areas.Spoke to two ishermen when we were taking out and they wererustrated as well. Both said they had knocked the socks othe bass three weeks ago.
    City: Rocklin

Tips: Regardless o my lack o success on this trip, I've had good ishing on this lake in May. Small plastics will get you numbers o ish, but try "spooks" in the early hours or largeraverage size ish.
