Water is still stained, if the sun stays out the water will warm up and the bait will get better. Most of the bass were caught in 5-10 ft of water.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Launched just ater 7AM and since the water was as lat as glass decided to drop shot some and wound up with 5 nice keepers beore noon and missed another 5 or 6. Got one o the smaller stripers I have caught this year as this one went just over 10 1/2 pounds. Moved around a bit and got another 2 o the steep ways up the Bear River on the jig and got o the water around 2PM. Sure was nice to see 3 other boats in our area ishing and glad the word is out that this is a wonderul winter ishing ground. The lake is at ull pool and going over the spillway but the water is still very clear.
    City: Wheatland

Tips: Dropshot a Roboworm in Natural Shad and then threw the 1/4 oz orange/brown jig with #180 Yamamoto trailer on steep walls. Dropshot ish were caught in 30 eet o water.

Report: Launched just ater 7AM with my buddy and his dad in the "Blue Bomber" and ought o a slight drizzle and wind looking or bait ish which were ew and ar between. Caught a total o 6 bass between us with the smallest one just over a pound and hal and the largest being about 3lb and hoping to have any o them in a tournament. All but one came o o a dropshot while the other was a jig ish. Oh, or a bonus, throw in a 13.11 lb striper on 6lb test line and one heck o a battle! Got o the water just ater 1PM and by the time we got home, realized we quit just in time as the wind and water really picked up. Placed a stick at water's edge beore launching and when we returned 6 hours later, ound the water came up almost one oot. By the weekend, the water should be cresting the dam and we will have ull pool.
    City: Wheatland

Tips: As always, look or bait ish and you'll ind the bass. Used Roboworms ishing in 20-30 eet.

    Water Temp: 48

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: What an incredible day and we boated 27 bass today and all but the irst 2 were tournament keepers averaging 2-3 pounds each with the largest tipping the scale at just over 4 pounds. Started with the jig and then as we got toward the back o Rock Creek where the water was newly illed, ound them gourging on the baitish. Found balls o bait on the graph and dropshot or the rest o the day with ish that were so lively and bellies ull o baitish that they covered the surace o the water with all the ish they spit out coming to the boat. One o the good ishin' days you always dream o and will always remember. The spillway is poured to above the water line and it looks good and they are now working on the upper parking lot and it will be a irst class launch when they are inished. Guys, i you haven't given CFW a shot in the winter, you are missing out on some o the best winter ishing in northern CA.
    City: Wheatland

Tips: Brown and orange jigs and the largest ish came on a tube in 20 eet o water. We were using Robo dropshot worms in a blue shad color and they were just eating them up. Most o the ish were caught in 20' and with the surace like glass today, it was a perect day or the dropshot.

Report: Did a weekday ishing trip to my avorite wintertime lake and the ishing was as expected, GREAT. Between mysel and my partner we caught an easy 35/40 ish. With atleast 4 or 5 that pushed 3lbs. No bigguns but great quality or this time o the year. I ished jigs and he threw worms. A ew blade ish but that was to much work as the plastic bite was much better. No real secret ind rocks and you will ind ish. Best bite seemed to be around 20 eet. Even caught a nice catish on a jig.
    City: Yuba City

Tips: Better ish seemed to be deeper. Smaller ish up on the banks. Fish plastics slow over the rocks and you can't miss.

Report: Got out on the water at about 8:30. Fished the bear river arm. We boated about 18 ish, all ish were good healthy ish only had about 3 small ones. My dad did manage to get his biggest bass going about 4-5lbs (the batteries were dead in my scale). It was a good day seeing him catch that ish was the best next time its my turn.
    City: Marysville

Tips: watermelon tubes with a 1/4 darthead switch to pumpkin when the watermelon turn o. Fish coming rom 5 to 20 eet. Have un

Report: Almost the same report as yesterday but smaller ish in some areas. Guess I ripped too many lips yesterday. Did get to view a bald eagle try unsuccessully on about 20 dives to get a young Greeb. (Those diving birds) We saw him come down or and nail a small bass that was laying on the surace so he didn't go hungry today. Tubes all day. Saw some huge stripers busting bait ish up the arm and tried like crazy to get him to hit a topwater but to no avail. Probably boated 35 bass today with about 5 non-tournament keepers.
    City: Wheatland

Tips: Tubes, tubes, tubes on 1/4 head in avacodo color anywhere rom the bank to 20 eet.

    Water Temp: 52

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Took my own advice today and headed to CFW and gotta tell you I couldn't count the number o ish I caught and the nice part is that every one o them was a tournament keeper. What a blast! A couple buddies showed up at a hole where I was on some ish and we shared it and must have pulled 20-30 bass out o that one area (Good to see you James and Dale) on everything rom blades to jigs and tubes. I was ready or some striper action but it never happened. Fish were up the river arm and then later in the day I worked the construction area and pulled another 15-20 keepers rom that area. This is one o the best winter isheries in CA and don't orget that the north launch is under construction so use the south launch which is 2 miles rom the bridge.
    City: Wheatland

Tips: Color didn't seem as important as location. Once you located ish, you would catch them but work slowly and the bites were subtle and on the jig it was purely a pressure bite. Go have some un as I'll be back in the morning.

    Water Temp: 67

Report: Fished the lake again on my new boat. We had good success today. I caught 8 spots and my buddies all caught one a piece. One o them lost a 15lb striper. We got the irst on top. Then that slowed and we started throwing spinnerbaits in coves and senkos to deep brush at the end o points. We got 10 ish in all. The Camp Far West Boating, and Jet Skiing idiots are out there with all the warm weather. I saw jetskiers going ity mph about 20t rom shore. The ishing really slowed when they showed up.
    City: Roseville

Tips: Topwater in the morning, spinnerbaits and senkos worked later in the spots where we could get rid o the yay-hoos.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: ished close to home this week. took a new isherman on wednesday. Started o throwing spinnerbaits in every good reaction spot I could think o, but to no avail. went to the clis with my drop shot, getting nothing. threw a rip bait to a ish that was taking shad on the surace. Nailed him on the irst cast. started lipping senkos to the bushes. Found ish in deep bushes that were barely breaking the surace. Caught 7 ish in all, 1# a piece. Saturday we went straight to the bushes with the senkos. It was a tough day. we got ive ish all out o the bushes.
    City: Roseville

Tips: Fish are in the bushes right now. They are eatin' up the senkos. Any color works
