Report: We were throwing our new Basstek Lure Spinnerbaits, west of the launch ramp, when we hook up with our first 6lb bass. No matter were you threw the shad were busting up tight in the brush. As we continued to worked down the shore we picked up several more bass.
We moved to another spot and continued with the same pattern throwing spinnerbaits along the shore when I hooked up with a 8lb bass. This bite lasted about 2 hours, that was great.
We then drop-shot different colors and did very well with a 4lb being the biggest worm fish. By noon the wind came up and we decided to leave.

    Water Temp: 72-75

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: I prefished for the JT night tourney, and we caught fish on main lake rock points in 10-15' water. The islands, both the main and the small pair toward the dam, had fish on them. Water has lots of algae, visibility about three feet in places. We caught post spawn fish with bellies full and soft with shad. Shad were heavy in the back of coves, and we metered shad balls all over the lake. We didn't find any reaction fish during the day, but they hit the fat Ika on the fall near the bottom, or picked it up and swam off. The fish were spooky, even at night. We caught fish at night on fat Ikas, the JT winner drop shot all night. Tough bite, but the fish are there.
    City: los angeles

Tips: Slooow presentations ( think dead stick), use rattles on bottom baits, use larger plastics on drop shot. Cranks in 10' water parallel to rock at night.

Report: Fished WON bass on Saturday didn't have a clue going into it...I used Margarita MutilatorIII fx sculpin #4 misquito hook with 15 power pro and 10 floro on 1/8 oz drop shot....fished the main island..not the submerged..... Found some fish shallow infront of tules or out infront on the points or the face of a point between willows.. I don't have time to find the flip bite but there had to be one...Move around but the marina side of that island should be the better of the sides but I got them here and there where ever around likely spawn areas ...Trout swimbait bite won the day....The boys never left the spot and racked up 34 pounds and change for a new W.O.N. record! Simply awesome fish in their five bags....our 11.38 was good enough for a check and 13th place...It's tough out there. 15 limits for 72 teams and only 52 teams weighed in at all

Report: I haven't been fishing in a while and hoped to catch something, but nothing was biting. I thought it was me until I returned at the end of the day to discover there was only one recorded catch of the day, a six lb. bass. One fish on the whole lake! Regarding the weather, this was only the second day of sunshine after heavy rains for a week or so. I noticed there were carp everywhere along the banks. I've experienced times like these where carp move in to clean up the house. I don't know what could have been done to change the situation. I hope it's not like that the next time I go there. Such a beautiful place!

Report: I was the camera boat for Triton boats. After the shoot the writer for Western Outdoor News wanted to do a little Big Bait fishing. So to cut it short I caught a 6-pounder on a Huddleston Swimbait and a 4-pounder on a Optimum swimbaits. Then I had to go to work, I did want to call out oh well maybe next time.
    City: Camarillo

Tips: Fish the Big Swim baits slow like crawl them. Also throw them in the sunken brush and hold on.

    Water Temp: 71

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: The big fish seem to be shallow. Shad is thick on the shore in certain areas. Find the shad and the Bass are there. Also, fish the grass. It seemed to be a tough day. I didn't see too many guys getting hooked up. Most I saw were fishing worms in deeper water. I caught some solid keepers on the shallow pattern.
    City: Castaic

Tips: Spinnerbaits in Wht./ Chart. with dbl. chrome willow leaf. Also white Senkos worked almost like a Spook through the grass. They seemed to want it faster than a normal retrieve. Good luck...

    Water Temp: 57 degrees

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: First time back to this great lake in our years - what a shock! The lake is down 35-40 eet rom when my son, John, and I last ished it. We were looking UP at places where we had caught ish beore on then-key pieces o structure.Graphed many areas around the now-exposed Arrowhead Island, in Deep Cat, and in Station Canyon which were devoid o ish or baitish. Found a ew spots in all those locations with loose concentrations o suspended ish and baitish. Tried mainly trout-inished swimbaits (7, 8, 9 and 10" versions o Castaic Trout, Optimum and Mission Fish laced with Pro-Cure bait sauce) but also 10" Power Worms, jigs with craw trailers, 6" Senko, T-rigged big tube baits, shad-colored crankbaits, and larger drop-shot presentations but couldn't entice a bite, even with extremely slow retrieves and dead-sticking, rom the shoreline out to 120 eet deep. The suspended ish either weren't interested in eating or rejected everything we threw at them (including dead-sticked Castaic Trout and Huddleston Deluxbows on the surace, wacky-rigged plastic worms and a Silver Buddy). There were bands o suspended ish at 15-20 eet, 45-50 eet, and 95-110 eet over a bottom at 120 eet. We ished all three bands but concentrated on the 15-20 oot band on the assumption it would be the most active eeders. NOT!Weather was beautiul with a slight overcast and absolutely NO wind. Lake was like glass most o the day. Toured the lat between Deep Cat and Station Canyon and saw no evidence o spawning activity - no beds ound. Flushed and spooked a school o 15-20 mid-sized (4-5 lb.) bass which were apparently trying to take advantage o the warming shallows.
    City: Monterey, CA

Tips: Only presentation we didn't try which may have worked is drop-shotting a 4" worm (that was good enough or the lake record 14 lb'er at Diamond Valley, so even the larger bass will go or the small worm). We also didn't try trolling which may have worked eventually on the suspended ish.Suggestion: stick with ound ish until they start eeding.

Wind came up around 1:00 and made ishing tough or everyone. Didn't see but two other people catching ish on artiicial lures. Did talk to a couple people that caught ish on minnows and one trolling with a deep diving Rapala. Tough day or me and a lot o other people. I don't think the ish are ready quite yet. Maybe next weekend. It sure was a pretty day to be out.
