Report: O.K. I would like to apologize to everyone that i upset. I did not mean any disrespect. I do realize that there was bad weather that was probably what killed the bite. I just wish that someone could have e-mailed me with a little ino. Evan bad ino. I did try using the tips rom previous reports to no avail. Again I am sorry that I blasted this lake.
    City: sacramento

Tips: I guess i'll just stick to the delta ( it's closer).

Report: I am kind o new to this posting business about my trips, but i it is educational rom me or any other ishermen, then it is worth it. This is not the place to gripe about a bad trip - one should do that on the orum - see i other people are struggling on the same lakes or with the same patterns. No one should think that "pros" have great trips all the time. I average one skunk a year at Clear Lake with clients, and I have already had two. I am not proud o that, but that is the reality o bass ishing. Groaning and moaning don't accomplish anything - the bass do win on occasion! Let's stick to giving constructive ishing reports - good or bad. Remember, we all learn more when the bite is tough. Forgive me - I don't like to preach. Also, bad days are usually ollowed by better days!!
    City: Yuba City

Tips: Remember, spring trips are oten east o amine. The weather is just not consistent as it is in the summer, all and winter.

Report: Report rom the Sunset Fishing Resort and Lodge. Windy and lake is choppy this evening. A ew bumps on large minnows with bobbers. No solid hits. No action this evening with any type lure. The catish have really been slow this week.We catch 20# cats at the resort and have only had a ew taps using nightcrawlers/cutbait. Fishing should pick up when the weather calms down.
    City: Clearlake,Ca

Tips: Bass-try rattle baits/surace lures when it warms a little, also large minnows/bobbers. Catish-stick with crawlers or cutbait later in the week or weekend.

Report: This is not a report but a reply to Mr. Kelsey. Maybe i you cooledthe attitude and paid attention to ALL the reports on this lake over the past year you would probably have caught a ew ish. I have seen reports by both Keith Clow, and Larry Hemphill on this site and asidethan taking you out as a guide client they gave more inormation thanyou would expect someone too who earns a living sharing inormation.
    City: turlock

Tips: No one owes you anything as ar as inormation. All ino. is outo the kindness o the givers heart that it is shared with you.So chalk it up as a bad day and move on!

Report: Thank you to all you "pro" isher-men who decided to give a little help to me on my trip to this lake. I REALLY appreciate all the wonderul tips that just poured in. This lake sucks and I will never waste my time here again. Thank you again to all you "pro's" and "guides" who couldn't tell a irst timer where to go to hook a ish. We cought nothing!!

    Water Temp: 60

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Had an EXCELLENT trip with 2 clients last night, Started about an hour beore dark - it was cold and windy. Lake temp had dropped - again! We wound up with 13 bass rom 3 1/2 lbs to 8 lbs, with the 5 ish limit at 32 lbs. Both clients had several 5's and 6's. We also had 2 dinks. This would have been a great report i I had landed the one I lost under the boat which hit a Weapon jig - unortunately on a cast that was too long. It was one o the heaviest bass I have ever had on. Clients were good worm and jig ishermen - even in the wind. Rattlin' Weapon jigs/with Yamamoto grubs (black/chartreuse) or plastic pork seemed to edge the zipper worms in eectiveness, maybe because we seem to be going back to winter. One client has been having a lot o success day and night on tubes, and caught a 5 last night using one. We ished rom Buckingham to Wheeler Point. Interesting - the ish were on a terriic big ish bite or only 2 one hour periods - rom dark to one hour ater, and 12 to 1 am.
    City: Yuba City

Tips: It suprised me how shallow the ish were on the second cold night - that tells me the ish are now committed to the spawn in the south end. I always target potiential spawning areas (lat rocks, tule/wall combos, private launching ramp edges (not used this time o year) that are near deep water areas. This usually gives us a chance to really stick a big ish.

    Water Temp: 58-59

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: I had 2 aternoon-night guided trips - The irst (Tues) ound weather cold and windy and great ishing, Wed was warmer and less wind and slower ishing????? First trip produced 5 ish to 3 1/2 lbs on various worms in tules south o Buckingham. Ater dark, the zipper worm bite was good, considering ishing is generally tough lately, We caught 7 more, with one client sticking a ootball 9-2 that had not even thought about spawning. She looked like a late winter ish. These night ish were 10 - 15 eet deep. I caught a couple on Weapon jigs w/ Yamamoto grubs. Wed., Client and I caught 2 just beore dark - he caught a 4 pounder on a jig in Konocti Bay and I caught a 3 on a power worm. Very slow ishing. Ater dark, we missed a couple o good ones - we caught 3 more - one being a 5 1/4. Tule bite was slow, so we ished rocks on west side o Clear Lake arm.
    City: Yuba City

Tips: Try another lake - just kiddin'! AS was reported by C. Hinckley and others, ronts and ishing pressure and made conditions a bit tough. Water temp has dropped. Lake will not warm up with wind this cold. Maybe try smaller baits and look or ish back on staging areas.

    Water Temp: 59 -60

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Fished or three days with my two teenage sons. Caught 2 to 3 ish each per day to 7 lbs. Fishing is slow. Cold at night (ice on boat cover) and very windy during the day (milder today though). Few bed ish and those aren't biting willingly. The water on the Lakeport side has turned murky. Had a great time but certainly wasn't close to two weeks ago with 68 degree water and agressive ish. Some very large bass are suspended under docks but are very skittish. Good luck and hope or warm weather.

    Water Temp: 60

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Clear Lake put on a wind show or me and my clients that even I couldn't believe. Some locals asked my how I was able to guide last night. I'm not sure - but we managed! One client landed a 3 1/4 on the irst cast, using a june bug Dead Ringer, about 4;30 PM. We were ishing near Anderson Island. I only got one bite, but it was a major one. 20 minutes beore dark, I threw a 8" Berkley lip n' tail (red shad) worm into one o my avorite spots in the back o Knocti Bay, and got one o those toads to eat it. Ater a long battle we got it in the net. She weighed 12 lbs on one scale, but a little under on the other two. I igure she was 11 lbs 13 oz. It is a real thrill to ish an area year ater year and know that someday - you will be there at the RIGHT time!! As night ell, the wind just got worse. The other client lost a couple - one good one - but inally landed a 2 3/4 on a zipper worm. That was it, 3 ish - one ish apiece. But we made it back alive!!!!
    City: Yuba City

Tips: Fishing has really slowed down the past two or three days, according to several sources. Water is soooo clear, you might have to go to lighter line and smaller baits. Carolina-rigging is working well or me. The big ish was on a carolina rig

Report: Once again my buddy JP embarassed me on the water. We ished the North shore rom 6:00 am till 3:00 pm and got a total o 14 ish rom 2-6lb. For some reason the ish seemed to like JP's junebug waterdog much more than they liked my Banjo' Minnow. JP ended up with 12 ish and I got two. They seemed to be on the North side o tule points in about 4 - 6 eet o water.

Report: i went ishin rom about 6:00am and 3:00pm. I landed about 15 total bass and all were between 2and 10 pounds. First i started around Konocti and caught 2 nice 5-6 punders but it was only good ishing there early in the morning. Then i went across the lake rom konocti to a ew docks. I caught a ew large ones including a 10 pounder right under someones dock. The 10 pounder had been caught beore because it still had the hook mark. I used mainly spinners and nightcrawlers. Wow did they hit those spiners rom underneath the dock. Go across rom konocti and ish the docks. thats my advise to you. There is one dock with a slide that i caught 2 8 pounders on so good luck. I sure had a lot o un.

Report: Launched in keys at daylight. Quickly lost irst ish, then second. Eventually landed 7 ish in the keys rom 5-12lb to 2-8lb. Fish were deinitly scattered. Found no clear pattern. Talked to numerous Red Man tourney guys in the keys and they weren't doing much either. Went out on the main body...big mistake...wind was up big time...2-4 t swells. Managed to get over to the Konocti area where wind was down a little...nothing there. Tried 5 dierent spots on that side. Nothing. Went back to the keys and landed2 more 3lbers. Not a good day. All ish on magic worms. Try again in 2 weeks.
